I have read reviews regarding the ZyXEL 600 Mbps Powerline AV2 Gigabit Pass-Thru Adapter (PLA5215KIT) that the adapter is too big to plug another 3-prong cord into the same wall outlet. It appears that the ZyXEL PLA5206KIT HomePlug AV2 1000 Mbps Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Up to 1000 Mbps is smaller in size than the ZyXEL 600, but does not come in "Pass Thru". My question is: Is the ZyXEL PLA5206KIT HomePlug AV2 1000 Mbps Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter small enough to allow a 3-prong cord to plug in the same wall outlet?

The answer is "probably". It's pretty large, so while it doesn't cover the other outlet, it may not fit alongside some of the larger AC bricks I've seen. In that case, you can always utilize a small extension cord or a surge protection bar for the other device you wish to plug into the same outlet. Just make sure you don't plug power line network adapters into any devices which might condition AC power, since that will absolutely kill your data signal.

Question 2

The power save feature in this device disables the adapter after it's been inactive for too long. So far, I have to power cycle it in order to get it to come out of the power save mode. Is there a way to disable the power saver mode?

mine connects a security camera to my computer. it has been running 24/7 for 6 months with no problems. if I have a power failure, it's the first thing to come back on. you should not have to power reset your device. the device is weakened by powerline surge protectors and/or 2 units powered by separate breakers. I would check for "protective" power strips as they would diminish the signal and hide it in the AC noise making it hard to wake up a unit on standby power.

I have four floors and would like to place a few of these throughout the house - Do I have to buy two units (total of 4) then connect one to the router and the other three throughout the house?

Correct, I bought 2 units (4 adapters)  I am currently running 3 in my home, one connected to the router and the other two connected throughout the house.  Download the Zyxel PLA software from the Zyxel website which will graphically show you all your adapters (you can name them) and the speeds that they are currently running.

Question 4

We recently had a power outage and now our Zyxel 5206 network is operating at 1/10 the speed.  The Comcast router and wireless is operating at the proper speed.  Any suggestions?

It should have not done this with a power outage.  To see if you can get the speeds back up, I would reset it back to factory default and then reflash the firmware on it.  If that does not work, send it back for warranty.

How does it connected from a home office to the family room?  Dou you have to run that yellow Ethernet cable through the rooms? Why are there 2 home plugs?

No, you can connect the Ethernet cable to a standard Ethernet switch and then plug the other devices into the switch.

So if I plug ethernet cable (150MB FIOS) directly into one module and  then place the wireless router in another room and plug the remaining module into the Internet port of the router, then there should really be no issue getting 150MB download/upload speeds through all the wireless devices connect to the router correct?

My guess is no you would not get your theoretical maximum. Probably about half that if the wires are not on the same circuit and have to go through the breaker box for example.  I have the older standard and the throughput drops off depending on the electrical wires. Also it may not work to connect in that order (cable modem, module, module, router) unless the FIOS modem is functioning as the primary router and the router your talking about is in access point mode.
