4 out of 5 eggsWireless Keyboard

Pros: Nice compact size.
Works on my Windows 7 HTPC in the living room up to 8 feet away with no lagging.
Real nice that there is an on off switch, this saves the batteries.
Good looking also.

Cons: The touchpad is tad on the weak side as far as tapping to open something, but when used for moving the cursor, it works great. The buttons work fine also, as do all the keys. Those who put down as a con, that there is no numeric keypad with numlock etc, need to lighten up, if you read the specs, and / or just look at the pictures, you will see that there is no numeric keypad so why do you put that down as a con?

Overall Review: For the price, this is a good little, simple, compact wireless keyboard that works great in the living room or anywhere elas you want to use it.

4 out of 5 eggsLogitech K400 Wireless Keyboard

Pros: Works well with Smart TV stick. Trackpad works well. Size is just about right. Has on/off switch. Has RF dongle extender. Range is very good.

Cons: Haven't really run into any so far, as Logitech is pretty honest about what you get. Keyboard does have more of a "plasticy" feel than their other keyboard products, but it still feels sturdier than most of the other mini keyboards I have tried.

Overall Review: I got this to work with an MK 808 Android Smart TV stick I purchased. It works very well, the keyboard is true, feels great, and types well and accurately. The track pad is precise, though not very good for gaming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone wanting a good keyboard for a Smart TV setup or HTPC.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Living Room Keyboard/Touchpad

Pros: Small, lightweight, great touchpad, and takes standard AA batteries. USB dongle is tiny. Win7 stock drivers run the keyboard/touchpad with no separate software/driver installation needed. Great value.

Cons: The tiny right shift button is very difficult to use. The up arrow takes half the real estate that a normal size shift button would use.

4 out of 5 eggsLogitech K400

Pros: I. Wireless
A. Reduced cord clutter.
B. Increased maximum distance from connecting device makes use in a wider range of conditions feasible, such as with a large screen.

II. Batteries Included
No need to purchase batteries at the onset. Will use some rechargeables after these alkalines are depleted however.

III. Touch Pad
A. Quieter and less intrusive/cumbersome than a mouse.
B. No flat surface needed to use mouse functions.

IV. Compact All-In-One design
A. Since mouse functions and keyboard functions are on one contiguous unit, nothing gets separated or lost.
B. Uses only one USB slot for touchpad and keyboard connectivity.
B. Small size, and light weight gives a nimble and convenient feel. Easy to lay back with this unit in one's lap and surf away.

V. Short Stroke Keys
Similar to laptop keys, these keys move down a shorter distance from released to pressed positions. If you like that feel, you'll like these.

Cons: I. Non-standard Key Placement
Some keyboard functions such as arrow keys, home, delete and page up/down aren't where you'd find them on a standard keyboard. Until one is made familiar with this arrangement, expect to trip over one's own fingers a few times.

III. No Keypad.
As with most laptops, there is no keypad to the right.

II. Touchpad Double-Click Sensitivity Way Too High
A. The minimum time between two consecutive taps required for them to register as a double-click is quite high - often, two independent clicks, such as tapping to select a screen object into scope, then placing one's finger on the pad again to move the cursor elsewhere, will register as a double-click on the object. This is the biggest issue with this product.

III. Construction
Could be made with greater rigidity. Flexes if you try to twist in with your hands. May be intentional.

Overall Review: Counterpoints to Points Above:

I. Non-Standard Key Arrangement - There are many larger bulkier keyboards that also sport non-standard key arrangements.
- With use, one will eventually become adapt to the arrangement of any keyboard.
II. Construction - May have been made intentionally flexible to enhance durability in less than ideal conditions.

Summary
----------
The concept is marvelous. I've always wanted short-stroke keys and a touchpad for my PC. And wirelessly to boot. That's not very easy to find. The biggest issue with this product is the touchpad double-click sensitivity. At best, it's very annoying unless you slow your rate a bit to alleviate the issue. At worst this issue is potentially costly if a dire mistake is made causing the misplacement or deletion of a large amount of data. It should really be fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsNow my HTPC is complete!!!

Pros: -Slim Design
-Great Range with no mouse curser skips
-Lighweight
-Low profile keys, with perfect tension
-Easy to hand it over to other family members in the room
-Works great with Windows 7
-Eliminates having a separate keyboard and mouse

Cons: -No Backlighting, this would have been worth reduced battery life

Overall Review: I have been waiting for this Keyboard since Christmas. Holding out for the Perfect HTPC interface in my living room. Finally it arrived and the wait was well worth it. I could at last smash my old broken wireless keyboard and mouse on the pavement outside!

I highly recommend this to anyone that hates clutter in the living room.

4 out of 5 eggsHTPC Living Room Friendly

Pros: 1. Logitech generally has good quality products. This is the second one of these Keyboards I have purchased and both work well overall.
2. Full keyboard + Trackpad and media buttons all work well. I particularly like the "Left-click" button on the left side of the keyboard so I can navigate the desktop while standing without moving my hands around.
3. Cost - I found my first one for under $30 on special and my second one for just over that.
4. Power efficiency is terrific. We make sure to switch it off when the HTPC is not in use (Pretty much only at night) and in almost a year we have yet to replace the AA batteries that came with it.
5. If you use other Logitech devices, the USB wireless dongle that comes with this can be used to sync a bunch at a time, minimizing dongle clutter.
6. Lightweight - very comfortably held and light but not flimsy

Cons: My only real gripe with the keyboard is the 2.4Ghz signal is easily interrupted. Even with direct Line-Of-Sight the signal can be stuttered if you have lots of wireless signals in that band or the dongle is too close to the HTPC case. Logitech provides an extender to move the dongle about 2 inches from the USB port, but that defeats the idea of having a dongle flush with the HTPC and I constantly worry about it breaking off due to incidental contact.

I removed an EGG as it really hurts the functionality of the device in a living room. I have the dongle attached to a USB extender cable and completely away from the housing, but like I said, I want the HTPC to be tucked away and having to add a cable for single continuity is cluttered and an eyesore.

For the price, I cannot really complain too much, hence, a single egg.

Overall Review: A note to Logitech: This product would be essentially perfect at this pricepoint if the signal issue was not a problem. Perhaps a bluetooth version of this keyboard would be better, or a 5Ghz band perhaps. Ideally I don't want to have to configure anything to get the signal right and I would be willing to pay a little more to make sure.

Otherwise - strong product at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Purchase

Pros: -Lightweight, yet seems sturdy enough if handled properly.
-Good size but compact enough to stash away
-Types well, goofy configuration of right shift key/directional arrows
-Mouse works well and is adjustable
-Cheapest I've found without returning
-Not sure of exact range but I've been a solid 20ft. away with no issues
-Left mouse button in corner makes it very convenient
-Works perfect with OS X Lion, OS X Snow Leopard, Windows 7

Cons: -No backlight
-Not meant to withstand children
-Not a keyboard to buy for an every day computer due to key config.
-No support for Apple OS X

Overall Review: I run a hackintosh (Lion) in my living room strictly for media and when I plugged the K400 in, it was in my lap and already working. I changed the mouse settings to my personal choice. I tested it with my old Macbook (Snow Leopard) which runs through a TV in my bedroom, same result. Testing it at work and on my fiance's PC (Win 7), same result. A HUGE thing that annoys me to no end is tap to click, well buckle up. To turn this off, you don't need Setpoint or anything for that matter. To turn off Tap-to-click, simultaneously hold the Fn (Function) key and the LEFT mouse button located under the track pad (not the convenient one in the upper left corner) for ~3 seconds. This works independently of the OS and if you want to reverse it, repeat the process.

3 out of 5 eggsUbuntu Review

Pros: I was pleased that the receiver and keyboard worked right out of the box with Ubuntu (11.04) with no necessary drivers. All the keys function in Ubuntu, even the home key.

The range of the keyboard is good. I was able to type without an issue up to fifteen feet away.

The keyboard is small & lightweight and fits comfortably on my lap. No problem with response from either the keyboard or trackpad. There is a left mouse button on the left hand corner of the keyboard to allow you to grip it like a controller when you're just using the trackpad. Makes web browsing comfortable from the couch.

I have been using this keyboard almost every day for about 3 months and I am still on the original batteries.

Cons: The trackpad uses two finger scrolling. I find this an odd choice as the layout of the keyboard leans towards the user gripping the controller at each end and using his/her thumb to manipulate the trackpad. An option to turn on edge scrolling would have been a good addition.

Although the keyboard's range is good, I have noticed that the range drops dramatically if the keyboard does not have line-of-sight on the receiver nub. When the receiver was plugged in the back of the PC, I had difficulty maintaining a connection from my couch six feet away. Switching the receiver to one of the front panel USB slots solved that issue mostly, however the keyboard still drops connection once in awhile whenever I use it at an angle where my coffee table blocks the receiver. I have to lift the keyboard slightly for a moment to re-establish contact

Overall Review: Overall I am pretty pleased with the keyboard. If not for the connection issue I wrote about in the Cons section, I would give it 5 stars.

5 out of 5 eggsBest HTPC solution

Pros: Easy install
Works flawlessly from 12 feet+
Receiver can be installed behind TV/without line of sight
lightweight
attractive design

Cons: really none, keystroke could be a bit deeper if we are going to nitpick

Overall Review: I've had several wireless keyboard/pointing device combos, all of which have been terrible - I had basically resigned myself to missing keystrokes, poor range and laggy mouse performance...until I got this little sucker! This is everything I wanted in an interface device for my HTPC. Don't even think about the other no name brands, they will disappoint you, but this logitec is a good piece of equipment.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: F-keys!;Good receiver range; responsive touch-pad; portable w/o being too small; space for receiver to be stored while traveling; small optional USB extension allowing easier receiver removal from a desktop port; not so cheaply made to worry about carrying it in a toolbag

Cons: Right shift key cut in half - shares some real estate w/ the Ctrl key; chiclet keys take some getting used to when you despise them; space included to store the receiver only large enough for the receiver not the extension piece; not so well made to carry in a tool bag next to sharp objects

Overall Review: The sole reason I purchased this was for the F-keys. A lot of micro/mini keyboards have a function key allowing the user to switch back & forth from other keys but they rarely work for things like BIOS; this does. I can take it anywhere and work on a fair amount of machines w/o carrying a full keyboard & mouse in my tool bag. The touch-pad isn't a mouse, but as good as most laptop touch-pads. I would buy this again.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant idea and execution.

Pros: Weight
- It's just over a pound. I think it's the perfect weight for the size of the product, feel's like you are holding a glorious control center on your lap. That's because you are.

OS Support
- Install in Win7 was a breeze. I could use it right away on default drivers as Win7 automatically installed the latest drivers.
- I was surprised to find out that this key board is very Linux friendly. The keyboard and track pad (along with its multi-touch features) worked right away on boot, no questions asked.
-I tried it on my net book running BackTrack<<5 and my Raspberry Pi running Debian Squeeze, the k400 worked flawlessly on both.

HTPC Gem
- Brilliantly perfect idea. It is soo convenient to by able to have a computers controls in a solid unit, keyboard and track pad.
- Its intended purpose is to control your laptop with a sudo-laptop setup when your laptop is tethered the TV. It is soo good at doing that. I mean it's freaking awesome.
Cost
- Worth every penny.

Cons: Design
- The little lines on the track pad are kind of silly but they're nothing to knock an egg off about.
- Feels a little too plastic-y, but I've had worse and again, it's not that bad.

Overall Review: I also use it when my tower is hooked up to my HDTV for applications less intense then gaming. Like web browsing, media play etc...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Compact Combo Keyboard

Pros: ===============
+ Excellent range (with the help of the included USB receiver extender)
+ Perfect size; light-weight
+ Excellent battery life
+ Comfortable and quiet keyboard*; roomy and responsive trackpad

Cons: ===============
- Does not have built-in, rechargeable battery
- Not back-lit
- Does not include an on-keyboard indicator for Caps Lock or Num Lock
- (*) The right-side Shift key is in a VERY awkward position, due to the compact layout of the keyboard

Overall Review: This is really a 4.5 egg device. The layout of the combo keyboard could have been a little more sensible. The awkward size of the right-side Shift key, prohibits fast, fluid typing. I think had they put the media keys above the track pad, they would have had more room for an additional keyboard row (on which they could put the left, down, and right arrow keys), dropping down the cardinal keys by a row, thereby allowing for a full-sized right-side Shift key.

I would still (and have) buy again, as it's still a pleasure to use.

5 out of 5 eggsA Great HTPC Keyboard

Pros: Easy to connect with computer and really long battery life. I used it for my projector and never turned it off. I did not change new battery about 9 month. One USB port come with keyboard and mouse pad.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome keyboard/mouse combo

Pros: works great with mac os x including multitouch gestures on trackpad. comfortable to use and no delay

Cons: none

Overall Review: I have only used this keyboard at a distance of less than six feet but as a controller for a bedside computer/htpc it has worked out perfectly. works fine for coding and surfing and even performed sufficiently enough for FPS games(with or without additional mouse, I use a naga for this task)

4 out of 5 eggsGood for media center, not real work

Pros: - Built-in trackpad and 3 mouse buttons
- Nice, springy keyboard (very quiet, too)
- Lightweight, good battery life

Cons: - Trackpad leaves lots to be desired
- Function key in weird place (should be where ALT key is)

Overall Review: Great keyboard for a media center. I have this hooked up to my Mac Mini on my big screen.

The trackpad is responsive, but coming from an Apple trackpad, this trackpad is somewhat annoying. It's not very accurate, it's small and therefore you have to lift your finger up a lot just to move the cursor. Tap-to-click isn't very well designed either, sometimes it registers as a drag when you're just trying to move the cursor.

Maybe I'm spoiled by the Apple Trackpad, but then again, I expect a lot from Logitech, since they have the best mice and keyboards in the world.

So, the K400 is great for media centers and presentations, but if you want to get real work done, look somewhere else, because the trackpad will drive you nuts.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC

Pros: Great little wireless keyboard for sitting on the couch.

Cons: The range is not as far as I had hoped, my HTPC is above my TV and about 15 feet from the couch, sometimes it loses signal and I have to sit up and aim the keyboard up at the PC.

Overall Review: That may sound lazy but that's what I bought it for.

5 out of 5 eggsk400-outstanding

Pros: This keyboard/trackpad is lightwieght, small, slim, and with full size keys. It fits between the bedrail and the mattress so its always at my fingertips. I waited a year to review because I couldn't believe it would hold up to continuos use. I had to charge the batteries only once. Outstanding product.

Cons: It doesn't have illuminated keys.

4 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard, kind of niche use

Pros: Works well, good range, feature rich, multitouch pad, media buttons, light, compact, insanely useful

Cons: Button layout is a bit cramped, mostly because its a smaller keyboard. The right shift is half sized and they tucked the up arrow key in its place. This ends up irking me when i try and r-shift and accidentally up arrow. Happens more often than not.

Overall Review: I bought this keyboard to sit on my couch and use my machine while using a project (would work very well with any kind of media-pc set up). For just browsing movies, games, or the internet, it works fantastic, and the multi-touch is really great and easy to get used to. When im not watching movies though, i use it as a keyboard/mouse for a secondary machine, and any kind of administration/cli type work is a pain because of the aforementioned up arrow quirkiness. Overall a solid recommendation for anyone, but loses an egg on the layout.

Pros: Very good range (15' in my case). Very nice touchpad.

Pros: A fantastic keyboard to use from my couch.

I bought this keyboard to plug into my desktop that is hooked up to my TV so I can watch Netflix and Hulu. The touchpad is awesome and the keyboard works fine.

This was a great deal for the price!

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Wish it was a little cheaper but whatever.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC, but some caveats

Pros: Very reliable connection, and hasn't dropped a letter yet. portable size makes it easy to use virtually anywhere. If you install the Logiteh software you can set custom commands for FN+(F1 through F11), and enable display notifications for actions (such as volume change, caps lock, and whatever functions you set)

The Unifying reciever seems useful, but I haven't gotten any other devices for it yet.

Cons: Trackpad is not multitouch, and the two finger scrolling is finicky. The scrolling seems to have some sort of kinetic function, which only serves to make me accidently scroll on a different page if I switch tabs immediately after scrolling. I believe this is done in the chip on the keyboard, so it is unlikely that a software update can fix this.

Would be nice if it had more useful special keys, such as play/pause and calculator. On the flipside the browser key is useless to me and I hate keyboards with billions of useless extra keys, so I can see the reasoning behind it.

Keyboard is slightly smaller than normal, and does have noticeable typing noise (despite Logitech's claims)

Overall Review: I found this at Staples for $60 and thought it would be better for my HTPC than my current wireless keyboard and mouse. It does have a few annoyances, but otherwise I'm perfectly happy with it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

Pros: Great small keyboard. Touchpad works well enough for its purpose (HTPC) Range is great if the receiver is in line of sight. Battery lasts a long time and on/off switch lets you conserve even more.

Cons: As people have said it is somewhat flexible, but I have dropped it many times without any damage. Thus I do not feel it is flimsy or likely to break/shatter.

5 out of 5 eggsHTPC / XBMC + Web Surfing

Pros: 1. Install easily on Windows 7 Pro
2. Size is just right
3. Works just fine regardless where USB receiver is places
4. Touch pad and keys are highly responsibe
5. Great feature to place Volume control buttons on keyboard.
6. Interesting integration of mouse button (left button) on top left, but may not be necessary, although I do find myself using it more than the touch pad's buttons.

Cons: Not a big deal but: On/Off switch could be better designed for smoother operation.

Overall Review: I purchased two of these k400's to test on two systems as media center and general purpose pc's. Have not experienced any negative issues as far as operation or connectivity. No matter where USB receiver is placed the units seem to operating without a hitch.

I highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a way to control HTPC / XBMC and general purpose computing.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Media Keyboard

Pros: - Sensitive Multi-Touch Trackpad
- On/Off Power Switch
- Lightweight, Compact and Responsive Design
- Dedicated Volume Up/Down/Mute & Home Buttons

I was excited to see this keyboard for this price. I have been following the all-in-one keyboard market since Logitech released the docking station business keyboard with a micro touchpad 4 years ago which was going for $200 last time I looked at it, so to find this one for $40 was amazing. It follows the Logitech product standards to a 'T'. The keyboard is a compact design with smaller keys all around but my typing speed and accuracy didn't decrease at all when I first plugged it in, barely any adjustment period. The left hand left click idea is a great one, use the touchpad with the right hand and click with your left hand, perfect for drag and drop which can be quite cumbersome at times with touchpads.

Cons: Because of it's compact design there is no 10-Key, which is usually a must for me.

Pros: Price, Easy Setup and Great Battery Life. It's light and not clunky.

1 out of 5 eggsWe do not get along

Pros: nice size, light-weight - keys have a nice action

Cons: trackbad is at times way too sensitive causing unpredictable actions - closing tabs and browser sessions, loss of unsaved data. Other times it is unresponsive and stubborn. Too unreliable and dangerous to use. Clocking up wasted hours when everything suddenly closes or disappears. Cursor prone to jump around in text as you're typing. If you're not watching, you can lose work. Consigned to the failed experiment pile.

Pros: Excellent wireless performance. Penetrates through my silverstone front cover panel on my HT case and makes it 20 feet to the couch.

The right-mouse click button in the top left is perfect. Use the trackpad with your right hand....click with the left button on the keyboard....don't have to look down to find where your mouse buttons are below the trackpad. Perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsDe facto standard for HTPC!

Pros: Many people I know consider this to be the de facto standard wireless keyboard for an HTPC setup. I have one, as do many friends and family, and we have all had the same experience. These things are very power efficient and batteries last a long time. Has good range that covers any typical size living room.

Cons: Not rechargeable, but you can use rechargeable batteries. Not a big deal, as we are getting almost a year out of a single set of regular batteries.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Wireless KB+Mouse

Pros: Light
Battery lasts forever
Trackpad (With multi-touch!) is integrated
Media Keys are awesome for HTPC
Great range/responsiveness
Small and light-it's great to have on your lap.

Cons: None, really. It's a bit smaller than a normal keyboard, but what do you expect for a compact wireless with a trackpad built in?

Letters are on (well adhered and durable) stickers, and if it's dark, and if the light is at the right angle, the glare washes out the text.

That's a whole lot of "if's", and who looks at the letters anyway?

Overall Review: Works awesome for HTPC applications. Better range than something like the "candybar" wireless boards, and even the old school Logitech with a receiver on a cable. Media buttons are a blessing and were recognized instantly. Multi-touch trackpad features (2 finger scroll, 3-finger click to open in new tab, pinch-zoom, etc) work flawlessly out of the box (at least on the 5 or so machines I put it on; Win XP, Win 7, and Ubuntu 12.04). Dongle fits in battery compartment for transport and is unobtrusive when plugged in. Got it over a year ago and the batteries are still going strong (thanks to the easy to use on/off switch and automatic sleep when not used).

Unless you're gaming or doing some hardcore word processing/mouse work, this is the best thing out there to use your computer from across the room. Even if you're doing a lot of typing, it rarely drops a letter if you're within 30ft of the receiver.

The range is impressively good for a wireless keyboard, better than anything I've tried (and I've tried dozens, quite a few cost twice as much).

Bought 2 more for work to use for presentations, blows the alternatives out of the water.

Everyone who uses it, goes and gets one for themselves. If I break or lose it, I'm buying another. It's worth every cent they're asking and then some.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent HTPC wireless keyboard!

Pros: Touch pad works surprisingly well.
Long battery life.
Great range.
Top side slide on/off button (good placement).
Sturdy Build Quality.
Plug and play
Small form usb adapter.

Cons: Key cramped due to small form factor.
No back lighting (more expensive model has this).

Overall Review: This is the best wireless keyboard I have tried for a HTPC. The fact that it has a touch pad instead of a mouse saves loosing it in a couch or bed. It's perfect if you don't intend to do much typing. Mine has been through a lot of abuse, dropped on the floor about twice a day for a year, mini dachshunds like to walk on it, and been left by a window with sun beating down on it. Still works like new, battery cover tabs broke off one time it fell, other than that it even looks new. Had a battery fall out and it still worked with only one battery!

For the money this keyboard is work the price!
If you need more features there always more expensive models.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

Pros: I keep an old Ubuntu laptop connected to my TV. This keyboard sits on the coffee table and does everything I need it to do. It's super light, has a compact design, and has better range than the TV remote (with no need to point).

What really surprised me is that the adapter could be popped in and out of any computer, and the keyboard starts working almost instantly without issues. Never had a driver problem or installation on any Windows or Linux system. And the batteries seem to last forever. The touchpad gestures also work well across operating systems.

It's not without minor quirks, but 5 eggs for blowing away my expectations.

Cons: Some awkwardly placed keyboard buttons due to the compact design. Typing a question mark, for instance, means touching the keys on either side of the up arrow button. Also, no middle mouse button or scroll wheel ability by the touchpad without gestures.

Keys use standard but shallow dome switches (I believe) and work fine for normal typing, but my laptop keyboard feels better to type on.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Compact and light, low-profile keys, scroll and pinch gesture support on touchpad, great wireless response.

Cons: Doesn't make sandwiches.

Overall Review: This was a fantastic replacement for a wired mouse and keyboard controlling my HTPC. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product

Pros: This has been the missing piece to my entertainment center setup. Have a pc with a TV tuner card running windows media center, this lets me control everything from the couch on the other side of the room, BEAUTIFUL!

Cons: I am left handed, so i generally use the touchpad with my left hand on a laptop, takes some getting used to only using my right but i am getting there.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC keyboard

Pros: I bought this for my family room HTPC keyboard and I love it!. Ended up buying one for the bedroom also. And if you haven't looked close, the keyboard has a right mouse key on the top left of the keyboard. This allows for scrolling with the right hand, and clicking with the left hand.

Cons: A bit cheap build, but will handle daily use just fine. Just won't take dropping or throwing as it's not a 100.00 keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsHTPC Awesomeness

Pros: Full featured keyboard. Workable HTPC mouse built on

Cons: A little larger than assumed via pictures. This received -1 egg due to the actual range is not what is advertised. It is maybe 12-15 feet. I couldn't get reception with the receiver plugged in the back of the system I had to plug it on top of my case.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little keyboard

Pros: Awesome little keyboard - use it as a "remote" for my laptop which is hooked up to the tv in the bedroom. Range is good, have never had any issues. Will get a 2nd one for the htpc in the living room.

Cons: None

Overall Review: A little difficult to get the hang of scrolling on the mouse pad, but I would definitly recommend this keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsBest media pc keyboard ever!

Pros: Great range, light weight, compact, simple to install and use. I love it for my living room media pc setup.

Cons: Because of the compact design, you have to use the "function (FN)" key to use the HOME, END, PAGE DN/UP buttons, and sometimes I mistype, but I'm using it for a media pc so I do minimal typing. Other than that, it's a fantastic keyboard!

This should be obvious, but it's not the best for gaming, so don't buy it for that purpose.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This keyboard was exactly what I was looking for, with the included touchpad. Unfortunately the PS3 I wanted to make it work with apparently loves the touchpad but hates the keyboard. Not this items fault so I didn't take any eggs away.

Cons: didn't work how it should have with my ps3, but I blame the ps3.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

Pros: - Small size
- Left mouse button on left top corner
- Quite when typing
- Scroll with two finger using touch pad

Cons: - Slight delay with touch pad input (but not enough to bother you)
- It does have some cheap feeling when you first see it

Overall Review: When I first took it out from box, it did have some cheap feeling on it, but I wasn't expecting anything fancy so it not really a con. Also, the touch pad has slight input delay when compared to my wired mouse, but its not enough to bother you when using it. As many people have already mentioned, it does have small right-shift button, so if you use right-shift often, then it might be a problem.

I first though the left mouse button on top-left corner was really pointless, but it actually is really comfortable being able to use two hand for mouse input. Keys are slightly smaller than the regular keyboard, but once you get used to it, typing lengthy e-mail or playing game is totally doable.

Overall I'm really satisfied with this keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsRange could be better

Pros: Lightweight and compact
Touchpad works fine

Cons: Working range greatly depends on receiver placement. If you plug it in one of the front USB ports you can expect about 10 ft or even more. However, if it is plugged in the back of your media PC, facing away from you when it starts dropping mouse moves and key strokes beyond about 8 ft.

Overall Review: I am not sure if there is any better option out there so this is still a keeper.

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect for HTPC

Pros: We use this keyboard to control our HTPC from the couch. It's perfect for the job, and I never lose the mouse in the cushions.

Cons: Range could be a bit better, that's about it. I sometimes have issues with distance (10 feet)

Overall Review: The layout is not great for sustained use (office or gaming)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for media PC

Pros: Recently hooked my PC up to my TV in the living room and was looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse combp. Light weight, easy to store, and perfect size. Great having the touch pad instead of a separate mouse hanging around. Buttons work. Like being able to turn my computer off from the couch. Good range.

Cons: Range is good when using the full sized adapter it comes with. When using just the micro one the device starts to operate intermittently even within less than 5ft and a direct line of site. Once plugged into the full sized adapter I am able go over 15ft away no problem.

Pros: Not too small-the same size of my laptop keyboard. Has great range and touch pad works great I bought this for an HTPC I built out of spare parts. It works so well , I've been using the HTPC instead of my laptop. It does pretty good with gaming too.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC & Windows 8

Pros: One of few keyboards on the market with a built in touchpad. Works great from across the room for HTPC application. Not all touchpad works well with Windows 8 charms swipe type interface, but this one works great.

Cons: When unpacking, the dongle is easy to miss. It's not only stored in the battery compartment, it's attached to the inside of the lid. Just what was the Logitech designer who designed this thing thinking? Talk about poor usability.

Overall Review: Been waiting for a keyboard like this since 2009 when I built my HTPC. Not all wireless keyboard works from across the room. This one works great.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect for the task (HTPC)

Pros: 1. accurate trackpad

4. off button
5. good reception 10 meters away

Cons: none so far

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: It's easy to setup and use, the extra button on the left hand side for a double click is nice, and it works out of the box with every computer I've tested it with (Windows, Mac, and Linux). When I first got it I had some minor issues where this specific keyboard receiver would conflict with a specific Wifi card on a common USB bus under Linux only, but this was fixed pretty rapidly with a kernel patch that is now part of the main branch.

Cons: My only complaint is the construction is slightly flimsy. I've been able to haul this guy around in a backpack without any trouble, but the board does flex a small amount, and the plastic is coming appart very slightly at the main edges. Nothing to worry me yet, but for the cost and feature set I wasn't expecting much more.

Overall Review: I haven't done any extensive tests of the transimission range. But I've been happy with it thus far. I've transmited around a desk at a range of 12-15 feet without any problems. I can't be sure how this translates to behind and under a desk, or through a closed door if it's used inside a media closet or something, but I've been quite happy thus far. I only needed it to work over about 6 feet with line of sight, so this has been more than adequate for my needs.

5 out of 5 eggsHTPC Sweetness

Pros: This is awesome. I wanted a small, lightweight wireless keyboard for our new HTPC. This is awesome. Range from about 25 feet is rock solid.

Cons: The right shift key is about as big as a pinhead. Fortunately, I knew that going into the relationship, and this really isn't for typing a lot. The Logitech software is a little klugy and crashes sometimes, but it works without it.

Overall Review: If you are considering a HTPC keyboard, this is it. I wish the touchpad was a little more functional (scrolling), but I'll take what I can get.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great for people who would enjoy using their tv as a monitor. I'm lazy so I'd be on my bed and this keyboard is what I need.

Cons: Sometimes the touchpad becomes unresponsive, but turning it on/off would fix it. The keyboard layout is a bit weird. Most of the large keys on the right that we're used to are very small (e.g. enter key, backspace, right shift), but that's not really a problem once you get used to it.

Pros: This keyboard is Windows 8 Standard, 1 Year battery life, Multi-Touch for scrolling - pinch and zoom, light easy to handle, low profile keys very nice for typing. Excellent Board. Bought for $30 at Wal-Mart. Will buy from Newegg.com next time just because.

Cons: I honestly can not think of any.

4 out of 5 eggsNot the perfect HTPC keyboard...

Pros: Slim, sleek, lightweight, uses 2 AA batteries (it came with some but I switched in some Eneloop 1500s) and was a steal for what I paid.

Range is fantastic! I can control my living room PC from any room in my house.

Cons: Sometimes the tracking of your fingers on the track pad can get a little jumpy...but the Logitech wireless trackball I have does the same thing from 3 feet away. Slightly jumpy wireless connections are an issue I've had with every wireless Logitech product I've ever owned or used. I've found that simply moving the device slightly in almost any direction will reestablish a good connection.

ALSO, this keyboard has no media control functions (other than volume) like pause, play, etc... I think this was a major oversight / lost opportunity.

Overall Review: This isn't really a true HTPC keyboard...but compared to several dedicated HTPC keyboards I've purchased, the overall usability and quality just a basic keyboard and mouse are fantastic.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Small size, built in track pad, multi-touch scrolling, good range.

Cons: The right shift key is a little on the small side, but unless you're trying to type up a document it isn't much of an issue.

Overall Review: This is not a full size keyboard, so it is not meant to be used as a primary computer keyboard. It is comparable in size to a laptop keyboard. I'm using it on my HTPC to do searches in Netflix, HULU, and YouTube, and it works great. Much much better than my full sized bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Pros: Works great with XBMC.
Up and running as soon as I plugged in the USB Dongle.
Keys are quiet and range is excellent.
Good Touchpad, not jumpy
Operates with no problem on my Ubuntu based Linux Machine.
Comes with batteries!

Cons: No backlight
No Multimedia keys like Play, FF, RW, Stop
Not meant for heavy duty typing
Windows Key..I use Linux and could care less about the windows Key.

Overall Review: Would have been a 5 egg if it had the multimedia keys.

5 out of 5 eggsFull key size keys and so light

Pros: Extremely light weight and compact yet still easy to function as a full size keyboard with a nice touch pad.
I love it. I use it with my net-book when I connect it the net-book to my Samsung TV and sit on bed and use the K400. I bought it primarily to use with my Samsung 3D Blu Ray Player featuring a web browser that is just awful to use with the Samsung remote.

Cons: None really.

Overall Review: If you have a samsung TV or blu ray player without the samsung keyboard. Buy this as it will make using the built in browsers a breeze to use.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Media Center KB

Pros: Light, slim, and responds very well. The touch pad makes this keyboard well worth the money. And you honestly can't beat the price. $34 for KB and mouse all in one. Makes a great media center keyboard.

Cons: Doesn't look very kid durable, but certainly not a deal breaker.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Touchpad works well. I am using this as a standby keyboard for a Windows Media Center HTPC setup. I only use the keyboard when I need to do something that can't easily be done with the remote. The keyboard that I was using features a trackball -- which was very spotty at best.

Cons: A minor con, so I still gave 5 eggs since this keyboard is a generalist keyboard and this is usage specific feature. Shortcut keys aren't labeled for HTPC/Media players, i.e. play/pause/stop/rewind/fastforward etc.

5 out of 5 eggsEven better than expected.

Pros: Wireless range, size, comfort, speed.

Cons: No functional negatives; maybe slightly better finish/material for the case/body.

Overall Review: I bought this to use in a family room for a home theater and gaming PC. It is a comfortable size, about 4/5 of a 'real' keyboard in all dimensions. The keys are sized like a 14-15" laptop, as is the mouse pad. There is a button in the top left that emulates the left mouse button, so right handers can hold the keyboard at each end, use right thumb to mouse around, and left thumb to hit the most commonly used mouse button. Left handers are out of luck, I presume. It works from the couch , 10-15' away no problem, with the usb receiver stuck in one of the front usb ports. I don't perceive any appreciable lag. The only thing I'd improve is the aesthetic and tactile quality of the case materials. The plastic is just fine for what it is, don't get me wrong, but some people might want something more upmarket for their family room or even in a corporate conference room (one of my first thoughts was to get one of these for my conf. room at work).

4 out of 5 eggsQuick and easy set-up

Pros: As always, Newegg has delivered a working product. I don't know, perhaps I just have good luck with orders.

This device is very simple to install. Plug in the USB unifying receiver and the JMW drivers install in seconds.

Cons: The package didn't come with a softward CD/DVD, so the software needed to allow changing key settings has to be downloaded from logitech.com/support. All things considered, no big deal. It's quick.
Small keys and unusual placement of touchpad. If you are set in your ways, stay away from this unit. If you don't mind someone moving your cheese, this has potential to be an amazing device.

Overall Review: The initial install is so easy, it is almost Id10t proof. I say almost, because we all know...Anything is possible.

Happy computing to all :)

5 out of 5 eggsawesome HTPC keyboard

Pros: works perfectly... the touch pad mouse seemed like it would be inferior to one with a ball... but it was quite the opposite. I replaced one with a ball with this one and I am happy i did all the things that annoyed me about the last one this doesn't have. and its small size makes it easy to work one handed when needed.

Cons: not rechargeable.

Overall Review: should make it rechargeable and it would be beyond perfection!

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect for HTPC, nice trackpad

Pros: Big, high-quality trackpad
Overall compact size
Cheap!
Unifying receiver
Logitech's reliability

Cons: Not backlit
Right-hand shift key placement
No media controls or customizable buttons

Overall Review: This keyboard is nearly perfect in my opinion. It only lost an egg from me because of the lack of media controls. This seems like a no-brainer on a keyboard clearly intended for HTPC's.

Overall, I'm really impressed. The size is good for surfing and finding streaming media. The trackpad is easy to use and big enough. I used a DiNovo Edge for a while, with it's tiny, circular trackpad. It was mostly worthless. The K400 costs less than half as much and functions 10 times better.

Pros: I saw this at a retail store for 20 bucks...a quick check of newegg and I grabbed it. works well, but keys feel a touch soft. but it does work well for my hidden HTPC. The touch pad and buttons are off to the side and don't get a bunch of Accidental moves.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect media center keyboard

Pros: Keyboard is full sized and easy to type on. Track pad is big and supports two finger vertical scrolling. Extra left click button on left of keyboard makes drag and drop easy, you need it more then you know. Power switch is small but easy to get to. Battery still has not died once

Cons: Keyboard could have nicer feel but that's not important for a media center keyboard I'm not using to type up things on.

Overall Review: My 5 stars is for this as a media center keyboard. If you plan to use this for anything else give it 4

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect

Pros: Sturdy, great battery life, great mobility and connection. Touchpad is large, device is compact. Perfect for controlling your home media computer or your laptop or desktop. Generally, a good keyboard/mouse combo. The multi-touch works as intended for scrolling/zooming.

Cons: Left click button used to be "sticky" but after using it for a month or so, the button gave in and works fine now (I don't have to click it hard any more)

Overall Review: There is some weird artwork on the touch pad that makes no sense. You will see this in the pictures. It doesn't matter with functionality, but I'd feel SLIGHTLY more comfortable using the device if it were a straight black [or different] design. Otherwise, the product is very affordable and functional.
I use this keyboard for my home multimedia computer in the living room, which controls all my movies and music and PC games. It's got very good range and everyone loves it. Perfect size and I can imagine many possible applications for this keyboard/touchpad combo.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but there's more potential

Pros: Nice build quality. The Logitech unifying feature is great, minimizes usb receivers and frees up usb ports. Like the tochpad off to the side with a extra left clik button in the upper left of the keyboard. I've been through the Microsoft Arc and a SIIG Air1128 and this seems by far the most responsive.

Cons: As with any compact keyboard, keyboard layout takes getting used to. I hit the up arrow a lot when tyring to use the left Shift key. I'm a sys admin so I use the back slash key a lot. That's one of two keys that was made half width. Wish it were full size. No legs to adjust angle or height.

Overall Review: I had been using the Wacom Bamboo Touch for a while and just recently replaced it with the Logitech Touchpad. Wish the touchpad on the keyboard had the following abilities; right click with a second finger touch in touchpad area. Enjoyed the 3 finger swipe feature on the Touchpad

2 out of 5 eggsRare miss by Logitech

Pros: The touchpad is pretty nice and responsive. Having a left click button on the right side is great idea.

Cons: The keyboard is an absolute nightmare. I find it easier to type on my netbook keyboard then on this thing. The unit is very thin and light and feels like you could break it over your knee with ease, and I might just do that because....

The right shift key is in the worst spot. Try to type a capital letter with the right shift key and you will always hit the up arrow key unless you are thinking about it. This is because the up arrow key is in the spot that shift would be, and shift holds a spot the size of a regular letter key all the way over to the right.

The keyboard is not easy to use when it's in your lap ( where a keyboard like this usually is ). It again has no weight to it and as a result it will just bounce around on an uneven surface. This is a rare fail for me from logitech, I use many of their keyboards and mice, and I am usually impressed. Not this time.

1 out of 5 eggsI have purchased a couple of these, I keep folding them in half because the trackpad is rage inducing, jokes on me I guess

Pros: Good size to use with a media center computer.
Good battery life.
Is a keyboard.

Cons: I hate the trackpad on this keyboard so much that it has soured my opinion of logitech devices across the board (despite really liking some of their other offerings).
I would have considered buying the more expensive logitech keyboard/trackpad combo if not for the fear that the trackpad on that was similarly horrible.
Imagine failing to implement a control device which has been standard equipment on laptops for multiple decades.

Overall Review: I'm laughing at the question "Would you recommend this product to other people?"... I might recommend this keyboard as a punitive measure or method of torture.

Pros: No-brainer setup, two devices in one, compact

Cons: Does not provide all Samsung UHD remote functions.

Overall Review: While this this keyboard is not specifically designed to provide all Samsung UHD TV functions, it does the basics. Using the standard remote to run the web browser on the TV was a powerful pain. Now I can type and move the cursor on websites with ease and can enjoy the video content from the web (PBS Passport) without a major meltdown trying to use the standard remote to control the web browser.

Pros: Layout isnt too cramped. The added track pad was the selling point for me as I wanted to have something to control my HTPC. Batteries last forever. Range is good.

Pros: Got this as an anniversary gift for my GF and she loves it. She uses her laptop with her PC as a means of TV. This saved her so much effort in having to get up and switch from the laptop at the end of the bed. Highly recommend.

Cons: It's powered by AA and is non rechargeable. Would love to see that , otherwise B+ Product.

3 out of 5 eggsDid its job

Pros: Lightweight, good battery life, decent range.

Cons: Track pad was not very accurate, ergos and key layout could have been more user friendly. What was my biggest gripe with this keyboard was the track pad.

Overall Review: I personally will be looking into another model other than this one. For the price, not really worth it in regards to the issues I stated above.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Buy for HTPC

Pros: Small but not too small, built-in touchpad is responsive and supports gestures/scrolling, good enough range when using the adapter, on/off switch

Cons: Right shift key is cut off to make room for the up arrow key which makes it almost useless. Poor Range without using the included adapter, feels cheaply constructed.

Overall Review: The small right shift key is out of range of my finger. I have to really stretch and look down to hit it. I was initially upset with the range of this unit. I had the transceiver plugged into a USB slot on the front of my HTPC case under my TV and I could use the unit up to 8ft away as it sat on my coffee table, however, when I picked it up and put in on my lap while sitting on the couch only adding an additional 3 feet to the distance the unit was completely unresponsive. I tried plugging the transciever into the extender piece into the back of my computer and it is working well at the 11-12 feet distance that I use it.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for HT use

Pros: A perfect all-in-one solution for wireless typing and mousing.

Works well at a pretty average couch-to-TV distance, better if you position the receiver in the front of your HTPC, facing you.

It's a rather large thing to use as a remote control, but I've found you can stash it pretty much anywhere and keep it out of the way since it's so thin. Dubious plus: you won't be able to lose it like you do with the regular remote control.

Also, it's remarkably battery-efficient. I often forget to switch it off when not using it, but even so, the batteries have lasted so far 34 straight months without needing a replace. Really just amazing, when you think about it.

Cons: If you have a long distance to cover between you (on the couch, for example) and the receiver, it will frustratingly cut out. You can take steps to help this out, but don't think you can get away with using it across the house.

Overall Review: I've also owned special wireless remotes for XBMC (at the time), which tried to include a keyboard on the back, and I never quite found them as useful as this full-fledged keyboard+mouse. No need to reinvent the wheel on this one.

Pros: Great range, battery life and price. Having an on/off switch has greatly extended the battery life.

Cons: None so far

3 out of 5 eggsIt has its uses

Pros: Small size and included thumb pad makes it great for HTPC builds.
Love the left mouse button added to the top left portion of the keyboard it makes moving and resizing windows far easier.
Included USB range extender (even though I don't need to use it)

Cons: Feels like cheap plastic in your hands with little weight.
No illumination on the key pad.
No included software, and Logitech's broad device software does nothing useful, most functions are not usable.

Overall Review: It does a good job as a HTPC remote, but lacks illumination that would be useful in a dark room. Would love to see more wireless devices like this specifically for HTPC use this size.

4 out of 5 eggsInteresting product

Pros: I like the wireless keyboard. It is convenient with an HTPC I put together. The system is running Ubuntu and Windows 7.

Cons: It is sometimes refusing to work. I had to disconnect and reconnect the dongle. It is possible that my phone or router may have interfered with the signal. Hard to say. I made changes with my wifi management in my house. The keyboard has been good ever since.
