What is the actual width of the TV? I want to know if it will fit where I want it :)

We have a box sized 32-inch width entertainment center so it easily fits our specifics. The width of the tv is 28'81. Hope that helps.

Is this a TRUE 120hz TV? Or is it 60hz native with 120hz "effective" refresh rate?

According to the Vizio Support page (h t t p s : / / g o o . g l / M 1 B 8 d J  take out spaces), it says "Refresh Rate (Native/SPS): 60Hz / 120Hz". So natively, it's only 60hz. "SPS (Scenes Per Second) combines advanced 120Hz technology with scanning backlight for enhanced detail." In other words, a "240Hz SPS" is a 120Hz TV with a scanning backlight.

Can I use this tv as a monitor?

There are no VGA or DVI ports on this model. However, with 3 HDMI ports it probably wouldn't be too hard to use a HDMI-to-DVI adapter on one.
