1 out of 5 eggsNever Buy from Kingston

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Cheap, but there is a reason!

Cons: These people DO NOT stand by their warranty. You call them and they dont call you back. Then after you badger them, they will exchange your product and take your warranty away for a month warranty!

Other Thoughts: I wont ever buy from this company again. Most every company I have dealt with will go above and beyond for your business, but not Kingston, they dont care. They got your money, and they are in control from that point on. I love the EGG, but never Kingston again

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. We apologize for the poor experience with our warranty process. Technical Support is available 6AM-6PM Pacific M-F while our RMA/Warranty department is available 7AM-5PM Pacific M-F. Typically, if a voice message is left with a contact phone number, we would return the call the next business day. Email requests are typically responded to in 1-2 business days depending on volume. As for the warranty period, generally with limited warranty products such as the V300's three year warranty, the warranty period begins on the date of purchase and would end three years from that date. The remainder of that warranty period would be applied to the replacement drive as long as a proof of purchase is provided. There may have been some confusion in the process and one of our warranty representatives may be able to clear things up for you at 800-337-3719. For complete warranty terms, please see: http://www.kingston.com/us/company/warranty
For any further technical assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

1 out of 5 eggsSystem Boot Fail Twice

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Coming from a 5400 rpm HDD, this SSD was significantly faster and for the time that it worked it gave me 15s boots.

Cons: Runs cool and well while it worked. However, i do not enjoy living in the fear of knowing my system could fail at any moment.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. We apologize for the issue experienced with the V300 SSD. We are here to help and can replace the faulty drive under it's three year warranty. All of our products go through 100% testing to ensure quality and reliability, as detailed here: http://www.kingston.com/us/company/testing . Even so, all electronic components have a small chance of failure. As we stand by all of our products, the drive can be replaced under warranty. It is highly unlikely to experience any issues with a replacement drive. For assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch faster than my HDD

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: I was worried after reading through the reviews about this SSD, but took a shot anyways. At $50 you can't beat the price, so I thought it would be worth the risk, and boy was it! Windows 8 boots in 13 sec with a Core i5 and 8gb dual channel RAM. I had Window 8 installed, set up and running in less than 20 minutes.

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: Assuming it has a relatively long life span, this SSD is well worth the money. I have seen a drastic improvement in boot times and loading games.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: For $50 totally worth it. Anything more than that I would get a bigger SSD

Cons: Wish it was bigger

2 out of 5 eggsI find something that isnt entry level thanks

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: boots fast and holds win7 OS with updates and patches.

Cons: not impressed! first ssd not impressed at all!! reinstalled into wifes comp after testing and benching, but I'm not going to let this from trying others. but not at an entry level (never heard of such a thing) being an entry price I can understand but performance you lost me. That's like having a corvette with a 1L 3 cyl. engine, sure it looks fast and goes down the road but that's not what I bought!!!

Other Thoughts: I have been doing this for a long time. look at the all the responds and do a little more research before making a final purchase, Also if this an entry level It should be mentioned in your specs, details or somewhere not on a tech saying, SO THAT NON-ENTRY LEVEL BUYERS WILL NOT BE BUYING THEN TOLD AFTER THE FACT, or buy @ all.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. We apologize for the misunderstanding of the V300 drive. The V300 is advertised as an economical upgrade from a HDD while our fastest SSD offering is our HyperX 3K SSD. We are here to help and can troubleshoot with you if the V300 is not performing to its specifications, fully detailed here: http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/sv300s3_us.pdf . For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for choosing Kingston.

4 out of 5 eggsNice drive, challenging install

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: VERY fast. Very reliable. Great pricing sometimes.

Cons: Needed to download drivers to a thumb drive for use during windows install, kind of a pain.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this for a friend to replace a 7200RPM and BOY is it amazingly better. What a difference an SSD makes compared to spinner. Game load times, app installation and system boot are all LOADS faster.

5 out of 5 eggsMakes a refurb Latitude just fly

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Put this in a Latitude 830 and it is like getting a new cpu.
The system has 4 GB of ram and with window 7 pro it runs like a brand new machine.
This is my 2nd Kingston SSD and so far they both have worked fine and I will keep my fingers crossed they both continue to work very well.
Kingston tech support has been very helpful with all emails and very quick to respond. One of the best I have ever experienced... but Glen I now have the D830 and put a Kingston 30 Gb in a D820... I thought you said they would not work in those systems.. but are! Thanks anyway.
Oh and both run very cool and very quiet and so far am happy.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Glen from Kingston tech support.. if these drives will not work in either of these systems please tell me why they seem so good so far? Is there a reason I should switch them?
