5 out of 5 eggsSharp, very low CA

Pros: Chromatic Aberration is almost nonexistent. Stunning performance. Very sharp. Excellent contrast. Great in low-light. Best wide-angle I've ever owned.

Cons: cost

Other Thoughts: I use it on the 5D Mk II. Use this lens more than any other.

5 out of 5 eggsCanon 16-35 II L

Pros: Don't need to say much - the images from this lens will take care of that. Often people forget that camera is just recording what the lens sees - invest in good glass and every image you take will reward you. We upgraded from the 16-35 L (version I) and i immediately see the difference in sharpness and edge to edge quality. We own many L lenses (2 other v1 16-35 that i wish i could afford to upgrade) and the newer Canon lenses are doing some incredible things with the new sensors. These newer lenses are designed with digital in mind and it shows. We are using on Mark II's & 5D's

Cons: none except i have too work more to pay for it...

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Lens

Pros: I was looking for a wide angle telephoto lens and considered the 17-40f/4.0L. After reading many review from various sites, I decided on the 16-35f/2.8 L. The clarity in the series II version is outstanding. Colors and sharpness of this lens are it's strength. The speed of the autofocus is noteworthy, as my two other L series lenses [70-200f/2.8L and 24-70f2.8L] are not quite as fast. The outside edges at the 16mm range can be a bit soft improving with every step. Would strongly recommend this lens.

Cons: Sometimes Soft edges at 16mm. The cost is a little high for a production lens.

Other Thoughts: I did not purchase this lens at Newegg as they were out of stock. I waited as long as possible before submitting the local pro camera store.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Lens

Pros: This is my second "L" series lens. I have to say, it's the fastest and sharpest lens I own. The focus and zoom rings are super smooth and the pictures come out perfect every time. You will not be disappointed.

Cons: The lens hood does not work all that great. I had a few shots where the sunlight slipped in...

5 out of 5 eggsGet what you paid for

Pros: I needed something wider than stock lens on the XSi kit and decided to go with the higher price one. What an amazing difference in color, clarity and wide-ness! So far very happy with my purchase.

5 out of 5 eggs16-35mm Ultra Wide angle Lens

Pros: The EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM ultra wide angle ZOOM lens captures amazing colors and is a great walk-around lens. I'm very pleased with the image quality I'm getting from this lens. Wide open results are very sharp. This is a very nice size and weight for comfortable, sure handling which makes it a joy to use. Wide angle full frame corners are excellent for a lens this wide. This is a professional lens, very high quality with the “L” designation. It is fully weather sealed to protect against dust and moisture. The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens is perfect for the wide work outdoor landscape photography, indoor events such as stage work, parties, wedding and for other photojournalism needs.
I spent months researching this lens. I debate between the cheaper 17-40L and the 16-35mm 2.8 II lenses. There is a big difference in price between the lenses. In the end, I felt that having the extra stop of light and wider angle was more important than saving a few dollars. After receiving th

Cons: -None-

Other Thoughts: This is the 4th Canon lens that I own: EF100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM, EF180mm F3.5L Macro USM, EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM and the EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price on a great lens

Pros: Better performance than any other Canon EF-mount lens of similar focal length. AF is of the Ring USM type, so it's fast and silent. Very solid build. Better overall than my old mk1 version by a long shot.

Cons: Not free. 82mm filter diameter is kinda sketch, but it was needed to help the peripheral lighting of the image circle.

Other Thoughts: Just as good, if not better, than any other AF lens in this range available for the EOS line. Not a Zeiss 21mm Distagon, but it works for me.
