what is the battery life?

LaptopMag did a review and got 6 Hours 20 minutes out of it while surfing the web on WiFI. I would say that is about the right range.  I would make sure to set the brightness to auto on this unit. I am not sure if I accidentally set it to max or if it shipped that way but it drained the battery faster. Auto helps to lengthen your battery life and it is generally still pretty readable/viewable.  They won't let me link the laptop mag review here but you can google them and venue 7 and it should come up:)

Can I use this with my Wifi access at home?

You can.  You should find it's range very good, I have.  The only area where this tablet didn't exceed my expectation is battery life, but perhaps my expectations were too high in this area.

This says it comes with gps capability but the manufacturer wont say how it works. do you have to pay for the service?

To effectively use gps with a app like google navigation, you need data service. This device does have a gps sensor embedded but without built in 4g (cellular service) this tablet relies on a wifi signal. If  you have tethering enabled on you personal mobile phone you could use that as a option to provide data to the tablet.

Is this tablet has micro sim card slot for 3g?

The current Venue 7 does not. There is no 3g/4g hardware in the current model. Dell made space in the initial design and plans to ship the feature in future models... the unit I have is pretty well sealed, I doubt there will be user upgradeable parts aside from adding a 3g usb dongle and microsd card.

Does this tablet half to have a Data plan, or can I just use my Wifi internet and be fine?

This model is for Wifi only, so you don't need to spend anything for 3G/4G data.  Of course you can't use it away from a hotspot you have the password to, so it cuts both ways.

I know this product has bluetooth, so I should be able to get a bluetooth keyboard to use with it right?

Although I haven't yet bought a bluetooth keyboard, it will accept one. by the way I love my new tablet and think it is one of the best values available, unless the Dell Venue 8 is available here on Newegg again. It became available after I purchased my 7 for $10 cheaper (my 7 went down $20 from the $149 I paid) but that may have been a one time price.

Does this tablet have microsoft office? or is it compatible with microsoft office programs?

If you want a tablet that runs office it must have Windows installed on it.  This tablet is an Android based operating system.  The larger Dell Venue 8 Pro is Windows based and it will run Office.  It comes with Office for students.

Yes, but they are both pretty low resolution. The rear camera is 3 MP

The battery life varies depending on how you use it. If you watch video or online continuously, it probably last 5 to 6 hours or so.  If you listen to music with screen off or reading with black background (white text), it will last more than 10 hours or couple days.
