4 out of 5 eggsBig bang for the buck !

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: I was very surprised by the number of items included with this cooler. All the needed and expected parts to mount plus thermal paste.

Cons: .Double check how much room you have in your case before buying this cooler, this baby is VERY tall and may or may not fit in all cases.

3 out of 5 eggsA great cooler, but it has some serious flaws that Cooler Master could easily fix

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Attaches very securely to the motherboard. I could probably lift the system by it. Provides really good temperature control to an i7 6700K.

Cons: The directions are inexcusably awful. There are no verbal instructions at all, just some drawings with insufficient context to convey sufficient meaning. I had to study the dang thing for 15 minutes to figure out what it meant well enough that I was at least somewhat confident I wasn't going to fry hundreds and hundreds of dollars of components if I used this cooler. -1 egg for the frustration and potential risk.

The other problem is the fan. At idle temps, it should not be audible, let alone put out the kind of rattling or grinding sound it puts out. The fan doesn't look damaged, so I have to assume it's just cheap. I replaced it with a Fractal Design fan, which is inaudible at idle. -1 egg because I had to spring for a fan to make up for the sub-par one that came with the cooler.

Other Thoughts: The copper and aluminum parts are of great quality. You only have to figure out how to install it once, so if you're building more than one system, you'll make up the lost time caused by the terrible directions soon enough. Plan upfront on replacing the fan if you're going for a quiet build. Once all that is out of the way, you'll be happy with it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Seems to do the job at a reasonable price. Impressive size.

Cons: Worthless instruction foldout-- watch a Youtube video or two.

4 out of 5 eggsNice cooler , fan not so much.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps overclocked quad-core at really decent temps , looks ok.

Cons: The fan is junky , feels cheap. I mounted the cooler so the fan would be underneath blowing directly up and straight away it started making noises like something was brushing the fins. I tried everything , took the fan off and shook it out of frustration , and found the bearing was so loose it thumped from side to side. Get another 120mm PWM fan if you don't have one , at the very least if you don't end up with a dud you're ready for push-pull right out of the box. Also the mounting bracket supplied on the fan isn't removable ,so you will be stuck using it one specific way. Not a deal breaker by any means , especially for the price.

Other Thoughts: Totally recommend this product to anyone. Even if you could care less about overclocking , this is one quiet solution to replace the stock fan/HS. For me this is replacing a Tuniq tower 120 , it's literally reading 10 degrees C cooler than the Tuniq was. It was an old cooler , but that difference was unexpected.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid choice for cooling cpu

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Works well and is quieter than most at this price range.
Vast adaptability across cpu sockets
Is pretty much the first cooler recommended at most sites for cooling your cpu on a budget.

Cons: Not sure it should be the first one mentioned anymore.
With solid competition from company's such as Cryorig in this price range, Cooler Master may need to step things up a bit.

Other Thoughts: Still a solid choice just maybe not the best choice anymore.
Oh and if people are still wondering it does fit skylake. I have it cooling my 6700k low 30's idle high 40's under load.

5 out of 5 eggsbest bang for the buck

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: -- mounting hardware huge improvement over stock push pins
-- awesome design
-- light and inexpensive
-- cpu runs so much cooler

Cons: -- are you kidding me?
-- not really a con but might not fit in all cases so check your dimensions

Other Thoughts: Awful stock cooler was on my i7 950 crooked and cpu was throttling core temps were 100C. It is about 50-60C core temp full load now could probably run it without a fan.

5 out of 5 eggsIs Compatible with 2011-v3

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Is Compatible with 2011-v3, there is a sticker on the box: Support Socket Intel LGA 2011-v3 / 1151 (I didn't tested that myself, I don't have the other parts yet)

Cons: The supported socket 2011-v3 is not listed in the specification.

Other Thoughts: Shipping: bought Sunday, received the next monday (7 days)

4 out of 5 eggsInstructions could use some work

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Quiet and efficient

Cons: - Description indicated cooler was universal, but did not include information to install on an intel 1151 socket CPU. Had to YouTube a guide for installation (installs the same as the 1150 socket) because included instructions were very vague.
- VERY large. Make sure you've got a nice roomy case as this cooler is the height of a 120mm fan plus a few inches.

Other Thoughts: I've always had good solid performance from Cooler Master products and would purchase this again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling performance for a great price

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Well built, quiet, easy to understand instructions

Cons: Not really a con, just something to know. Takes lots of pre-fitting the bracket before setting the cooler on the CPU. Takes some effort to get the bracket screw (spring loaded) started. Not a big deal at all and still a 5 egg buy.

Other Thoughts: I recomend this cooler for anyone and for any chip. Might not be the one you want if you are over clocking, but if you are buying a CPU that you intend to overclock, im sure youd be looking for coolers at much higher price range anyways.
