5 out of 5 eggsNo regrets on budget TV purchase

Pros: It's bright for non-LED LCD, it has plenty of inputs, it's been working, and it was under 400 bucks when I got it. Now that's a bargain.
2 year business warranty, good color, and a wide viewing angle.

Cons: Remote has a very short range, and doesn't work when it doesn't have direct visual with the TV. This is a very minor con.

Although I do wish it could tilt up and down like my monitors, but oh well. I don't think many, if any, TV's do that.

I guess it isn't LED, but as the rating shows, none of these things bother me at all now that it's here and running.

Other Thoughts: Man, I was going to get a 32" TV just to have in the living room with my second gaming desktop and run netflix through it, but this thing was too good of a deal. Yeah, it isn't LED, but in my experience with LED monitors (desktop monitors, at least), they have way worse viewing angles. So, whatever. Ultimately, this does what I want it to do, it isn't terribly slow in the menu UI, and doesn't come with a bunch of junk-tastic apps, which is 100% of a plus than anything else.

It works well with a DTV antenna, a HDMI connection to the PC, and a composite connection to a Gamecube (lol)

2 out of 5 eggsLG EzSign 42" 1080p LCD HDTV 42LD452B

Pros: Update from first Review 10 days later: Worked great for the first ten days. Picture “Was" very good, vivid bright colors clear and sharp. Looked good, cool red standby light, cool Blue On light. Price, plus Newegg was great, better than the alleged LG’s 1920x1080i LCD TV. Newegg's Customer Service is awesome!

Cons: After ten days, color started to fade or look "washed-out"? Watching regular Hi-Def TV from Dish, volume never had to be set above 10 to 15. When I switched to HDMI-2, to watch a DVD, had to turn volume to 60 or 70 to get the same sound as the TV? So the HDMI-2 Audio started to go after only 10 days! Problems became worse as they migrated to the TV; I had to adjust the brightness, color, etc. on every TV channel, including the volume. LG's Customer Service and Tech Support is a JOKE! They are rude and disrespectful. This LCD-TV is considered a Commercial (Business class), LCD Hi-Def TV...BOLOGNA! LG's "alleged" Customer Service for Commercial Hi-Def TVs is incompetent to say the least. I called them four times; first they blamed my Panasonic DVD Player/Recorder saying “DVD Players go out every day!” Then they blamed my Dish Hi-Def Box. I had Dish run a system check on their Box; signal was above their average…no problem there. LG’s Tech Service didn’t even know how to set up their remote control! You have to manually set this piece of Junk up yourself. You have to tell the remote what device is being hooked up to HDMI-1 and HDMI-2! By the way, on the back of this LCD-TV, it does “NOT” say HDMI-1 in or HDMI-2 in; it says “DVI-1 in and DVI-2 in, what’s up with that? The TV’s screen shows 1080i, but not 1920x1080i? On my last call to LG’s amazingly incompetent Commercial Tech Support, the guy told me the TV is basically a “Large Computer Monitor”, and having to adjust each channel was normal…amazing, I guess he thought I had a Turnip Truck parked outside of my home? I have a second Service Appt. for Monday July 1st from 10 am to 1 pm. The first Service Tech came out just to “Check-Out” the TV eight days after I called them. In other words, to see if I was lying or knew what I talking about! The alleged Tech got into the TV’s menu that owners are not allowed to access. He “Deleted” all of the Factory Settings, now the TV looks worse than ever….terrific! This LCD TV is in no way capable of handling 1920x108i, it says 1080i, but does “not’ show 1920x1080i anywhere on the TV’s Display like my old Samsung 40” LCD HDMI did. Picture quality compared to my old Samsung, well there is no comparison! My old Samsung would crush the LG for Picture quality, color, sharpness, and all other features.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money!

Other Thoughts: This LG is Junk, spend the eggstra money and buy a different brand. I'll never buy another LG product, not even a LG Toaster.

5 out of 5 eggsLG EzSign 42" 1080p LCD HDTV 42LD452B

Pros: 42" HDMI, TV Swivels, Easy Set Up, Easy Adjustments, Price, Free Shipping,....Great Picture, Deep Bright Colors, cool Red "Off" light, and Blue "On" light. 1920/1080i, 720, and 480i resolutions. Great Picture even watching B/W Movies This LG EzSign HDMI TV is considered a "Business Class HDMI TV", so when I called to register it, I received an extra year, (2 years in all), warranty! Did I mention Newegg's Price? $100 cheaper than any other store I tried. Newegg's amazing Customer Service...Wow!

Cons: Only Two HDMI Inputs. Not sure about LG's Reputation on HD-LCD TVs, time will tell.

Other Thoughts: I bought a Samsung LN40B550K1FXZA, 40" LCD HDMI from Newegg in Sept. 2009. I had to have it serviced 2 times by 12/31/2010! I bought the Newegg 2-year warranty, plus the factory 1 year from Samsung. My Samsung is less than 4 years old. I started to notice a dark shadow line running in the middle of the screen-left to right. Not bad enough to affect watching the TV, but noticeable. Then the next day, the TV would cycle on and off for 90 minutes before it finally would stay on. Next day, it would cycle on and off, (Capacitors), then black screen. The audio still worked fine? I Called Samsung..."BIG" waste of time. Samsung's Customer is useless; all they did was try and sell me a new HD TV. I paid over $1,000.00 for this TV from Newegg including the warranty, and I was a little "miffed" that it died at 3 1/2 years old; to say the least. Anyway, I called Newegg and talked to two Customer Service Reps, then a Supervisor. I'll call him Gabe, he was more than happy to listen to my problem and frustrations. I mentioned that I was looking at the 42" LG EzSign. He went out of his way to offer me a discount on the LG EzSign 42" I was looking at. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse, I bought the LG and this time I got the 3 year extended Newegg Warranty just in case. Like I said above in the Pros:, when I registered my LG EzSign, I was told that it was a "Business Class HDMI TV" and received an extra year LG warranty, 2 years in all. So I should be set on warranties for about 5 years. I have to tell you, Newegg was in no way responsible for Samsung's faulty HDMI TV, and they helped me out just because they are Newegg! That's why I went back to Newegg for a replacement HDMI LCD TV. Thank you again Newegg!!
