5 out of 5 eggsBest upgrade ever!

Pros: I just replaced the lousy 8 GB Intel SSD that came in my Acer Aspire One A110 netbook with this drive over the weekend, and the difference in performance has been night and day.

- Everything runs SO much faster, and there are no more of the inexplicable lags that drove me up the wall. It's like a brand new computer.
- The extra space is nice too. I installed office on the 8 GB drive, and I quickly received a "LOW DISK SPACE" error. Not a problem anymore!
- This "mod" didn't require any double-sided tape, or a Dremel tool to grind anything down - I simply unscrewed the Intel chip, replaced it with the Super Talent ship, connected the new drive to the existing ZIF connector, and it was done.

Cons: - The installation process was a bit of a chore -- NOT recommended for the faint of heart, as you have basically disassemble the whole computer -- but that's Acer's fault.
- Not currently in stock at, so I had to order it from someone else.

Other Thoughts: As I mentioned above, I have only had this in my netbook for a couple of days, so I can't speak to it's durability or longevity at all. But let me tell you, I am really psyched about how well this thing is working so far!

Also, just to disclose, I also upgraded the RAM from 1 GB to 1.5 GB, so it's possible that some of the increased performance I'm seeing is related to that. Still, the difference in write times offered by this SSD and what the Intel SSD offered is not even comparable - this one blows the Intel chip away!

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome upgrade

Pros: The stock 8gb SSD was painfully slow. Like pull out your hair slow. Put this thing in and WOW what a differece. It's like a whole new computer. It screams. Windows desktop in 20 seconds from power on. Shutdown in 5. Used to take 2-4 minutes to get a usable desktop and 1+ min to shutdown with the stock piece of ----. I am just sorry newegg isn't selling it, I had to buy it elsewhere on the net for $90 but it was worth it.

Cons: None really, takes a little time to install but that's Acer's fault. Good job Super Talent.

Other Thoughts: Install can be a little bit of a pain but it's not that bad. Some woman named tnkgirl has some great videos to walk you through it. As long as you're careful and take your time, it's not that hard. Kudos to whomever invented the snap down zif connectors for ribbon cables. Gone are the days of those awful awful plastic connectors on the end of ribbon cables.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth it!

Pros: Much faster than the original 8GB module, and even faster than the hard drive in the 120GB hard drive version of the Aspire One. No noise.
Most important: Enough speed and space to load Windows 7 Home Premium.

Cons: Could be even faster. (Some of the other Super Talent 32GB modules are rated faster than this one.)
Doesn't speed up the processor! <g>
Requires disassembly of the unit to install it.

Other Thoughts: Installing this was not quite as much work as installing the RAM module because you can get to it from the top of the board. OTOH, if you're installing this and haven't added another GB of RAM yet, you should do that at the same time.

I had to pay more at another store because NewEgg was out of stock, but I'd rather have gotten it here.

5 out of 5 eggswicked upgrade

Pros: Running Win7 ultimate (RC) now, no problem. Was unable to do so before. Much, much faster than the stock 16GB SSD my AcerOne came with. It is a completely different system now. I love it!

Cons: no 64 or 128GB cards availalble (yet). will upgrade again if they make one of those availalble. Would love to take my entire mp3 library with me. All of them will not fit on the 32GB card.

5 out of 5 eggsBigger, better, faster.

Pros: Faster than stock SSD in Acer Aspire One ZG5. Cable fits, uses original mounting--direct replacement. 24 second Windows 7 RC boot time, 12 second Moblin2 boot time. Nice size, nice speed, nice price.

Cons: None so far, but it's early yet. Near complete disassembly of netbook necessary to install, but that's Acer's design, not Super Talent's issue. About a 20 minute install.

Other Thoughts: If you have the original Intel 8gig SSD in your Aspire One, do yourself a favor and quadruple the size and quadruple the speed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: Much Faster than the original 8GB SSD that came with the Acer Aspire One.

Cons: Nothing...

Other Thoughts: I love this 32GB SSD because it made my netbook much faster and I can store more things without having to switch to the normal HDD. Even though it took me sometime to figure how to install, but when I did I was really glad to try it and I was successful!

The best thing is that when I run an audio file or video, it doesn't lag or pause every few seconds...

If you have any other SSD than this one, you are missing out!
