Very Happy with TV. 
Uses very little power!

Some Internet functions are clunky. Nice ability to load mp4 movies- from a pc or whatever- onto a usb stick and for the most part they play well. Will  pass through most but not all surround sound.  Wifi performance good. Compatible with my wireless keybourd and mouse (usb wireless receiver) This is really the only way you can use the browser. Browser itself is based on Old Safari- some of the latest flash sites don't work- etc. Internet content OS itself seems like some flavor of Linux.

I would say this is a good value for the price- I don't however watch a lot of sports on this- so can't speak to the fast motion qualities.

Can this tv use the usb ports for recording video?

I haven't used them to record video, and in fact have only used the USB ports to play videos, however I see no reason a recording device that hooks up through USB would be unable to record what's showing on the tv. Without knowing more about the recording device you're using, the best I can say is "probably".

My 55" has a headphone jack, I imagine this one does too. Samsung is generally pretty good about including all the little goodies on there TVs!
