1 out of 5 eggsWon't ever buy Xclio product again

Pros: The only good things I can say about this case is that it is a good design with a lot of good ideas integrated into the product and it looks cool.

Cons: Aside from the pro's I listed this case is poorly built with cheap parts. Within a couple of months of ownership one of my front door fans suddenly bit the dust. I was able to get another fan under warranty (after a big hassle) and Xclio sent me both door fans when I requested one because apparently they new these fans were defective. However dealing with Xclio was a royal pain.

About a week out of manufacturer warranty the 2 top mounted fans quite working. 1year after that one of the replacement front door fans stopped working again.

I looked around for replacement fans but could not find any with the same type of connector. These fans are 6pin and apparently proprietary hardware for Xclio. I contacted the manufacture and they told me I was out of luck and they didn't sell them anymore. I emailed back asking if they knew where I could purchase fans that would work as replacements. They emailed back and literally the only thing they wrote was "no".

I recently emailed them again asking for the case schematics so that I could find and wire in my own fans but they have yet to returned my email.

This is definitely one of the worst company's I have ever dealt with and for that reason alone I will not buy there products again.

Other Thoughts: I know this item is deactivated and probably know one will see this review, but I feel better posting this review anyway :)

It's to bad Xclio's customer service is so bad and there case's are cheap because they do build some of the best looking computer cases I've seen and integrate good ideas into their cases. They however fall short in quality.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate after a year.

Pros: Lots of space. System runs cool and quiet. Controls are nice for setting fans to reduce noise and Illumination.

Cons: Power supply is located near the bottom of the case and must be installed right side up. Which blocks the fan on the bottom of the PSU. There is no vent for it to breathe on the bottom of the case. There is about a 1/4 inch gap between the PSU and the bottom of the case. Also the large fan on the side of the case quit after a year. The bearings seized. I was able to get another 6months with a few drops of 3in1. Support has not responded to my email about purchasing a replacement. If you run a cooler like a CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ The large case fan will get in the way.

Other Thoughts: I had to modify the side of my case with the large fan to accommodate my CPU cooler. Support has not emailed me about the Fan. I am not sure if the connector is proprietary or not. I haven't had a chance to find out yet. Minus one egg for lack of support and one for design

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling, Solid Construction, and Nice Cable Mangement

Pros: I freaking love this case. It's big, but in the world of computers, that can be a good thing. The blue lights are great when you want to dork out or need a night light, but I often leave them off. The multiple fans, and huge fan on the side offer unparalleled cooling and ventilation, which is fantastic for me since my system is used basically as a storage server (as many as 7 3.5" SATA drives at one point). I have had drives fail in the past due to poor ventilation, and these drives are constantly running cool, due to the fan placement and design. 1 fan per block of 4x3.5" drives. The screw-less construction is fantastic for quick removal of the drives. I do wish there were some way to disconnect the SATA connectors without opening up the case (I suppose longer SATA and power cables would allow for that). Sturdy construction, and great cable management system maximizes airflow.

Cons: If you consider big a con, it might have one, but for me I needed storage space. It sits next to my desk so I really don't notice it.

Other Thoughts: Can't sing enough praises about this case. It's great.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect fit

Pros: Large case, LED color change, Fan speed control, Can turn off fans if you wish, 4x USB in front, 1x ESATA in front, LED lights on the back so you can easily work with it. The case itself is HUGE to say the least. I have about a good inch between the power supply on the bottom and the base of my motherboard. It was easy to work with and getting the wires around the back instead of out front was a cinch. There is plenty of work space for plugging in large graphics cards. This thing can hold up to 8 hard-drives so there is plenty of expansion to be had.

Cons: like one other reviewer said the side fan can rattle at higher speeds, other then that the hard-drives can be a pain to install into the tooless holders but not enough bad to take off an egg

Other Thoughts: I have a Corsair Hydro H50 installed in this and it fit perfectly snug against the side fan with no issues. I have though since then removed the side fan and installed an Xclio 120mm in the back onto the Hydro H50 and removed the CPU Hydro fan due to the fact that I have a bad CPU fan controller in there that caused some crashing. The Xclio fan draws more air flow than the H50 ever did. At max load with video encoding my computer was bridging about 140degrees Fahrenheit. Now using the Xclio fan it does not go over 125degrees farenheit. My stats for my comp are below

CPU: Core 2 Quad 6600 2.4ghz overclocked to 3.4ghz
Memory: 2x 2GB Geil 2x 2GB Kingston 1066 in Dual Channel
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro Turbo 775socket
Solid State: OCZ Vertex 2 120gb
Hard-drive: Western Digital green 1.5tb
graphics Card: NVIDIA 460 GTX
Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-fi
OS: Windows 7 x64

I know it is getting old now :) But it still does a very fine job for what it is.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

Pros: Lots of room. Keeps everything nice and cool. Plenty of fans, although I added a 120mm to the back of the case. Nice and quiet. First time getting a case with LED lights and am really liking it. Love the fact that I have plenty of room for upgrades.

Cons: The only con I have is that I can't turn the 240mm fan to max speed. The fan rattles when it is cranked all the way up. I have to set it slightly slower than max, which is not enough for me to knock it down any.

Other Thoughts: I have had this case for almost a year and a half now and cannot think of any other case that matches the quality capability for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsI like it, could be better

Pros: I love the case as a whole. The buttons, ports, and controls up top, the minimal LED's are attractive yet not ultra geeky, the big side fan is very quiet. 5 1/4" drives are easy to move in and out. Lots of good airflow.

Cons: The front fans are a disaster in design. One didn't work out of the box, the other broke shortly thereafter. The design of the connector lends itself to breaking VERY easily, and is hard as anything to get in correctly. The top fans are a little louder when reved up then I'd like, but they can be slowed down to a reasonable level.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I really love this case. I'd ignore the fan noise of the top fans and give it 5 eggs if it wasn't for the horrible front fan design.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Case Lots a space

Pros: Keeps my hardware cool. Lots of room. Removable drive bays. Great for workstation or small server. Ability to control lights is more important than controlling fans. Quieter than my Zalman Z9+ case

Cons: Doesnt work with my Cooler Master Hyper 212+ or Sunbeam Twister type CPU coolers. Big fan is kinda ugly but moves alot of air. Wasnt Free and doesnt Spit money out .

Other Thoughts: Did a new build. This was in my price range. With the features it has its a nice case with space and lots of HDD slots. I turned my old system into a file server.

AMD Phenom II 965 3.4 OC@3.8
Sunbeam Twister 120 CPU cooler
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB
2x WD 750Gb Black RAID-0
EVGA- Nvidia GTX570

5 out of 5 eggsXclio Blackhawk

Pros: Moves a huge amount of air effortlessly. Build really sturdy and had held up being moved around. Has 5 fans with 3 different settings on air flow settings. 1 for front, 1 for top, and 1 for side. Has a gigantic amount of room inside to make it really easy to setup your computer. The top and front fans are all connected to a single visible 4pin for easy power connection instead of having to plug each fan in independently. You can controll which fans you want on or off. Has front loaded SATA connection for an external SATA device. Fan removal optional if you have to clean the dust off and place back in. Has color galore on the LEDs. You can also choose a specific color and freeze it if you wish it to stay a certain color. Or you can turn off the LEDs completely.

Cons: Removing the front fans, and I am guessing the top as well can be a little bit of a pain because of how tight they are but it is not worth taking an egg off because they want to make sure it is secure on the case. Hard-drives can be a pain to install in the bracket holders it comes with (Still not worth taking an egg off).

Other Thoughts: When I say this case has a huge amount of room I am not kidding. I have at least a good half inch between my power supply and the bottom of my motherboard. All my wires fit without issue also. On top of that my H50 heatsink radiator fits perfectly snug on the side fan barrier as if it was made to be placed there perfectly. This was my first Xclio case and I have been very impressed at how well the design was in making it comfortable to the user except for the couple snags as I mentioned in Cons. Now if you are looking for a heatsink like the Corsair H100 you should not take this case because it does not have the extra back fan space you will need. But if that is not needed then I would say this case is beautiful and is one of the best I have ever seen.
