3 out of 5 eggsUpdate on case issues

Pros: The case layout is nice with wire channel in the back side. 6 drive bays plus room for 2 SSD drives. Very efficient layout for the size. I would recommend the case, except issues below.

Cons: Improper packing by manufacture can lead to damaged drive cage when it arrives.

Other Thoughts: When shipped the extra box of screws are strapped to the drive cage. Shipping force caused this to shear several rivets of the drive cage and bending it out of shape. I managed to re-rivet and re-straighten out the drive cage. I suspect there is better value if you shop around. I'll compare with the Fractal Design Core 3000 when it arrives, at half the price.

2 out of 5 eggsLian Li is no longer the product it was

Pros: Six internal drive bays. Layout very close to the LIAN LI PC-9F.

Cons: Drive bays wobble and are not rigid as in the LIAN LI PC-9F. Rivets are not attached properly such that the drive cage flops around easily. Not sure what happened to the legendary Lian Li quality, but this is a sham compared to past products.

Other Thoughts: I was hoping to acquire another case similar to the LIAN LI PC-9F. Layout is similar but quality is poor. There are many other "steel" cases out there that equal and surpass this case at half the price. Probably the Last Lian Li I will ever buy.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but...

Pros: - all aluminum exterior looks great
- comes with all the (thumb) screws and grommets you could ever want
- plenty of room for my build
- top panel is very convenient for quick connections of my external drives and usb headphones, works well too
- was able to route all my cables behind the motherboard without a problem.
- stock fans are acceptable for cooling
- I love the pci card and psu locking devices
- my Geforce GTX 670 fits without removing hard drive cage (did anyway for better airflow)

Cons: The build quality is ok, I wish I could say it was excellent, but the problems I've noticed:
- first thing that really stood out was the 5.25" bay covers. They don't sit flush to the case, the bottom one being 1/16" off while the others are a little better. I know, sounds small but it was the first thing I noticed when I unboxed it. I did a little bit of ghetto rigging to get them to sit flush. It might be the front panel at fault.

- the side panels put up a fight when trying to get them on, I except that for a $50 case, not this.

- the tool-less 5.25" drive mechanism is pretty useless since I had to use screws on the side without the latch on it or I could easily move it when pushed, not a huge deal but I like to know when something's supposed to secure, it really secures.

Other Thoughts: I think I should have paid the extra money and gotten the Lian Li PC-9F, which is very similar except the frame is aluminum too and it has a cut out on top for a fan, which is something I'm planning to add to this one eventually. Aside from the minor negatives I do like this case albeit slightly disappointed in it. Btw they do make this same version with a painted interior, but I think it's only sold outside the U.S.

4 out of 5 eggsThis case rules!

Pros: Here's what to like:

1) Front Bezel - You can remove it without taking out the 5.25 drives and it just pulls off without much effort.

2) 6 3.5 bays facing towards the side panel. This means easy removal of drives.

3) Thumb screws everywhere. Really. Even for the motherboard.

4) An expansion card retention mechanism that actually works.

5) Filters. Oh yeah!

6) It looks great! Sure, it's in my basement and I'm the only one that notices . . .

7) Top mounted usb/audio with a little dust flap.

8) You can move the drive cage back an inch or so in case you don't have right angle sata cables.

Cons: None of these would have deterred me from buying the case but here goes:

1) The 5.25 tooless retention mechanism is rather weak. I used screws on one side.

2) The side panel is a bit tricky to put back on the case.

3) No top or side fans. For me not an issue as long as the case stays cool. For individuals that like a lot of fans you may want to look elswhere.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently running a supermicro motherboard and a xeon processor and four hard drives. Temps are stable. This case works great as a small home server case and I'm very happy with it.

5 out of 5 eggsexquisite

Pros: breathtaking beautiful. much better than the pictures. Beautiful cable management. Lots of room. Easy as pie tool-less expansion slots, hd cage, optical drives. Fans are much quieter than my old ones, about the level of air conditioning.

Cons: fans are louder than I though they would be, but still very quiet.

Other Thoughts: Best deal ever! Go NEWEGG!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good case

Pros: Air filters very easy to access and clean. Not too absurdly flashy. Good interior room; By removing one of the two internal drive cages, the case will hold an absurdly long graphics card. My GTX460 fit easily without removing the extra internal drive cage.

Cons: Build quality isn't quite up to the standard of my 3 older Lancool cases. My previous Lancool case (one a bit more upscale than this one) had soundproofing on the interior of the very sturdy side panels. The side panels on this case are comparatively flimsy and not soundproofed. My wife and kids have early model K7 cases, which are quite like this one, but even on those cases the side panels are sturdier. This doesn't matter much to me, since the case is sturdy enough for my uses, but it is mildly disappointing. Similarly the drive mounting system in the new case, while convenient and functional, has a cheaper feel to it than that in the old case. I would have appreciated an eSATA front connector as there was on my older LanCool cases.

Other Thoughts: Nothing in the cons is a deal breaker for me. Short of spending 200+ dollars, I don't know where you'd find a perfect case, and this one is pretty good. Unless you are breathing HEPA filtered air, you will find the ease of reaching and cleaning the case's filters much more important than the lack of heft to the side panels. At the time of this writing (June 1) there are significant errors in Newegg's product description. There are TWO usb 3.0 front connectors and zero usb 2.0 connectors, not the 1+1 scheme in the product description. Moreover there are THREE, not TWO, 5.25 inch front bays. Newegg, can you fix your product description??

5 out of 5 eggsgood case

Pros: Good design, didn't really encounter any issues. Always liked lian lis style. USB3.0 on the top. Fans are big and quiet.

Cons: The entire case is not aluminum as I had thought. Only the front panel. But it's ok.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: All the points are listed by others: quiet, cool, beautiful, well-built, well-designed, feature-rich, fan filters, closed top panel, easy to work with. I'm writing because I had an issue with an audio jack on the top IO panel. I Skyped Lancool, and they actually sent me a whole new top panel by DHL from Taiwan. I was impressed.

Cons: Contacting tech support took a bit of time and patience.

5 out of 5 eggsAn Absolute Winner for the Price!

Pros: Secure and frustration free package/carton
Gorgeously Simple Black Case
VERY SILENT CASE FANS!
Aluminum Interior
I love the PSU clamp
2 front USB 3.0 Ports
Internal USB 3.0 Header
USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 coverter
Lightweight
Awesome Price
Respectable Cable Management Clamp
Truly tooless PCI & ODD

Cons: No rubber grommets for tidy cable maganagement

Other Thoughts: I've desired a Lian-Li made chassis for over a year now, and I finally see & feel what their legendary quality is all about. For the 1st time ever, building a desktop was a sheer pleasure with this baby. I'm planning on a 2nd build in the not too distant future, (AMD Llano or an Intel Z77 inspired). Naturally this chassis is on the top of my hardware list. Make dame sure it's on yours!

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice design.

Cons: Everything else; this case has the build quality of a pop can and is simply *not* practical for any design.

Other Thoughts: I tried to give Lian Li an honest chance after hearing so many great things about them. I will never do this again.
