A newly evolved version of PC-X2000F, the PC-X2000FNB full tower case continues the well-acclaimed multi-heat zone design, which enables better thermal solution and tidy internal space, and renovates the HDD bay for easy integration with 2.5" HDDs - paving the way to cutting-edge SSD technology, which delivers significant boost to your system boot up and application launch.

The new internal layout has the motherboard on middle level, which allows for easier access to the motherboard as well as more room above, thus larger CPU coolers can be used. Cable routing space behind motherboard tray signifies less clutter and better air flow. To install the power supply unit, just slide the power supply unit through the opening at the rear of the case.

  • newegg Two-Heat Zone Design The LIAN LI PC-X2000FNB features two heat zones in the chassis to optimize cooling for heat-intensive components and non heat-intensive components. The upper compartment is specified for optical drives and hard drives and comes equipped with one 140mm rear fan to dissipate heat. The lower compartment, where motherboard, CPU, graphics card and power supply populate, comes equipped with 3x 140mm front fan and 1x 120 rear fan to blow strong cool air through the heat generating components to dispel heat. Fan speed controller is located at the rear for quick adjustment.
  • newegg Cable Management Cable routing space behind motherboard tray with rubber grommets gathers and organizes cable for neat looks and better air flow.
  • newegg Ample Space with Great Expandability This full tower chassis delivers spacious internal room to accommodate E-ATX motherboard, high end graphics card up to 340mm long, PSU up to 230mm long and CPU cooling with up to 180mm height. Newly designed HDD bay supports 3.5-inch HDD x9 (hotswap x7) / 2.5-Inch HDD x3 or 3.5-Inch HDD x8 (hotswap x7) / 2.5-Inch HDD x4. 10 expansion slots with locking holder enable easy add-on cards installation.
  • newegg Bottom Placed PSU The bottom mounted PSU design enables independent and optimized cooling. The filter keeps dust and dirt out for clean inner system and better ventilation.
  • newegg Liquid Cooling Ready Retention holes are provided at the rear of the case for easy water cooling set-up and maintenance.
  • newegg USB 3.0 Multimedia I/O Ports Users can easily access 4x USB 3.0 ports, 1x eSATA port and HD audio ports which are located on the top of the case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: - Almost perfect support for the Supermicro X9DAi E-ATX motherboard: only one screw hole on the top-left corner did not line up.
- There's plenty of room with which to work.
- The ability to route cables behind the motherboard tray and keep the rest of the case uncluttered is a dream.
- Overall, it's an incredibly well designed case.

Cons: - The motherboard mounting stands really should not come affixed to the motherboard tray, as they are a pain to remove and reposition to accommodate E-ATX motherboards.
- A 24-pin ATX motherboard power cable extender should have included, due to the placement of the PSU at the bottom and the inability for most standard cables to not reach all motherboards because of that; it was a nasty surprise to have to order one after getting everything installed.
- The rubber cable management slots could have been better designed. It would have been nice to be able to fix them in place, e.g., via screws, versus having them pop off while threading heavy cables through them.

Other Thoughts: - Supermicro X9DAi Extended ATX dual LGA 2011
- Dual Intel Xeon E5-2687W 3.1 GHz (8 core/16 thread) Sandy Bridge-EPs
- Dual Dynatron R8 CPU coolers
- 96 GB of Kingston ECC Registered DDR3 1600 RAM
- EVGA 04G-P4-2690-KR GeForce GTX 690
- Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold Series RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W ATX PSU
- Lian Li PC-X2000FNB

3 out of 5 eggsDifferences

Pros: 10-slot rear I/O support. (pro)
120mm rear exhaust port.
Alternative watercooling pass-through grommets. (pro)
Internal support bracket has SSD mounts.

Cons: 10-slot rear I/O is deceiving, not listed as XL-ATX compatible even on the website (some XL-ATX boards may fit if they use ATX mounting points). (con)
Alternative watercooling pass-through grommets. (con)
Wider internal support bracket.
Less detailing and machine-work.
No sound dampening on side-panel.
Fewer drive slots in upper-deck.
Third optical slot has no cut-out on side-panel.
More expensive.

Other Thoughts: All of the above pros/cons are in comparison to the original PC-X2000F and this PC-X2000FN.
Overall, considering this costs more, I'ld have expected Lian-Li to keep the original aesthetic at least, if not make it better.
The side-panel is designed to be easier to machine, has no sound dampening, and even lacks a third slot for the optical bays. I know most builders use only one OD if even that, but a three-bay chassis with two slots?
The side-panel support bar is wider. Personally, I dislike the concept of a support bar as it is, but wider? The only reason they did that was to add direct mounting for SSDs, which if you remove the hot-swap panels on the original, becomes a non-issue.
There are two aspects to this chassis that make it 'better' than the original. The 120mm rear exhaust port, which can mount an H80 or equivalent. As well as the 10-slot support for XL-ATX, yet it's not listed as compatible with XL-ATX?
Are we sure Lian-Li designed this chassis? What happened here?
