Haven't received rebate
- Pros: Cheap solution, if rebate goes through otherwise it's overpriced for its quality.
- Cons: Parallel port VFD. Talk about dumb and cheap - not many motherboards have parallel ports anymore. Doors on front are stupidly designed. Standoffs that came with case are double height and cannot be used to mount the mother board.
- Other Thoughts: If the rebate doesn't go through this will be the first time I've been burned by newegg. It will be very disappointing. Submitted rebate on 9/25 it is now 12/12
Mediocre quality--you can get something better
- Pros: - Looks nice, and I like the LCD--when I finally got it working...
- I can't really think of anything else...
- Cons: - Little tabs on doors break easily
- dual 60mm outlet fans are loud, and the only ones... - VFD uses parallel port (lucky my Asus P5K-VM had one) - Software was a JOKE--have to go find LCD Smartie yourself. - BIGGGEST CON [artist]: the manufacturer, who STIFFED me on the rebate! Do not buy this case with even the fantasy of getting any kind of rebate! NewEgg should be ashamed of doing business with this kind of sham artist. I would've returned this case if I could, but of course, once you've waited long enough for them to DENY your rebate, NewEgg won't let you return the case...
- Other Thoughts: I already replaced the PSU with an EarthWatts 380, and the rest of the fans are getting replaced too (I am getting 60-80mm adapters, hoping to install some quiet 80mm fans instead). Getting the VFD to work with regular XP and LCDSmartie was a PAIN. I finally figured it out--in the settings, after selecting the driver, I put "LPT1,50" in the config line, without the quotes of course. The ",50" was the trick, as it causes a delay to how fast the system feeds data to the panel. It went from garbage to crystal clear.
Meh...
- Pros: Black finish matches the finish of my receiver and other components. LCD front panel works as advertised.
- Cons: Cheap internal construction. PSU came unplugged internally, so if your system doesn't boot after building, check to make the PSU is plugged in. Adapter to convert front panel LCD leads to the PCI cover parallel cable wasn't built correctly, phone support for this was terrible and still hasn't been resolved. Purchased case on 8/28/2007, mailed out 100.00 rebate as soon as I received the order... 11/29/07 as of writing this and still no rebate! I'll be angry if I don't see this rebate.
- Other Thoughts: The case would've been 39.99 after rebate, if I knew I wouldn't ever see it I would've saved my money and bought something else.
