Alluminum Case with Liquid Cooling Solution.
- Pros: This is a Killer Case if you have the room and the need to have expansion and keep it all very cool you cannot go wrong with this case. The tool-less design is mostly first class and makes it easy to install the motherboard, cards, and storage devices. The HDs were especially easy to install with positive locks and the front access covers have a neat spring activated lock. The liquid cooling is awesome the 13 fans are not that loud (big surprise). There is a slight clicking from the coolant flow gage especially when set to the high speed performance setting. In the quiet mode it really quiet and my core i7 940 is a cool 85 degrees F. even under full load. The case has the best cable management of any case I or my tech head neighbor has seen. The few Cons mentioned below are really very minor issues . This is nearly a prefect case as long as you have the room for it. The cooling system is really a no brainer and makes this a real value. - Cons: The door slots (hinges) were open too much allowing both side doors so much movement that my 2.5 yr- old daughter opened one of them from the hinged side and broke the locking latch on the opposite end of the door. It was an easy fix to squeeze the hinge channel with a pair of sheet metal tongs so that it is now tight and is beyond being maneuvered by the tiny inquisitive fingers of a toddler (be careful not to over do it with this fix as the metal is near it's breaking point and will not take much in the way of being bent). The latch has to be re-installed. One of the temperature probes for the SIM is not functioning and will require replacement. The SIM module required the addition of an internal USB connector that is if you want to have all the USB ports on the top of the case functioning (that is with a Gigabyte EX58-ud4p MB) I would assume the same issue for most other MB as it was mentioned in some of the reviews I read before ordering from NewEgg. - Pros: First of all, this case is perfect for the big mobo and extensive GPU's you can handle. 12+ inches of clearance for everything on the motherboard, built-in removeable tray for easy modification, easy access to everything inside, Liquid Cooling startup was easy, very fast pump. Fans and Pump are easy to control via S.I.M. software. Again, plenty of space for everything.
- Cons: Case was damaged upon delivery, rather than wait, I fixed it and moved on. The water cooling gauge on the top rattles alot, especially when run at performance speed. I'll see if IKONIK has a remedy. Top power LED plug was incompatible with motherboard, instructions on how to place the thermal sensors on the fans and block was non existent. Must have a know-how experience, yes.
- Other Thoughts: This case comes compatible with the LGA 1366 socket backplate, perfect for the core i7 chip. The best chip so far, and with SLI or CrossFire, you have the cooling necessary for a wicked gaming platform, add a northbridge cooling block for 80 bucks and it comes with extra fittings to attach the block into the cooling system. Definitely a bang worth the buck.
Good case
- Pros: Received this case a couple months back for a review on Bjorn3D, and it really is a pretty good case. Cheaper than the TT Sword M with liquid, and in my experience better.The case does cool well, and the SIM does a good job of managing the temps.
- Cons: Radiators are not all that great. Sure they cool decently, but the one fall back of the case is the radiators. Part of this is due to their inability to sufficiently rid the liquid of enough heat, and the other part is the connection from the rad to the flow indicator is 1/4" tube (BAD BAD IKONIK) I have talked with their PR person about getting the rads improved, and hopefully there will be a new revision with those changes.
- Other Thoughts: Case is worth the money. If you added a rad off the back or something, you would probably lower the temperatures of the system by a fair margin.
