4 out of 5 eggsNot quite what I expected or saw in the manual

Pros: Convertible from tower to desktop. Lots of fan mounts. SLI capable. Nice looking case. LCD display is a plus I guess.

Cons: 5.25 mounting bays use poor screwless configuration. Secondary SLI card mounts inline with 5.25 bays making interference very possible with long cards and/or deep drives. Aluminum front panels mounted over plastic has a slightly cheap feel. Top 5.25 drive bay has flip-down faceplate when the whole bay assembly is already hidden behind a solid faceplate, making that bay almost useless for anything else.

Other Thoughts: I was careful enough to measure everything before ordering and my SLI 8800GTX just fit. I can't believe I went back to a desktop configuration but my desk setup demanded it..

My main gripe, which prevents me giving 5 stars is: The 5.25 bays. The bays use a screwless mount. This has got to be the single most disappointing part of this otherwise very nice case. The whole drive bay, you see, used to use screws to mount to the case. (I know it was, I saw pictures online and it still shows it that way in the owners manual). To convert from tower to desktop you removed the bay and rotated it. Now, they created some silly bay that accepts drives both vertically and horizontally. They removed the screws and riveted it in place. You now have access to only 2 sides (barely) and its almost impossible to use screws instead of the screwless system. If your mounting something that the screwless system wont hold properly (ICY BOX IB-168SK-B)... be prepared to drill rivets.

4 out of 5 eggsLess than perfect

Pros: Rounded edges, easy access to components, space for cables to be run, quiet, can be set up horizontal or vertical

Cons: Middle section cover didn't have the veneer attached properly, it catches the disk door as it is opened. I had to manually crimp the metal facing to fix it.

Other Thoughts: The documentation for the IR receiver & Media Kit is laffable, specifically configuring the display to show what you really want is a chore.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost awesome

Pros: The 120mm fan layout is just absolutely awesome. One fan blows on up to 5 3.5" drives, keeping them cool. I have 3 drives and they stay well between 26C and 29C. The case holds a full ATX motherboard. It fits nicely in an entertainment center. It is easy to install 3.5" hard drives.

Cons: These are all small nit pics, not enough to change my rating. Plastic Doors on front should be aluminum. The supplied IDE cable will not allow hookup between a 3.5" and 5.25" drive (the connector spacing is wrong). Intake for power supply is on the side, so you need a little space for it to breath if placing in an entertainment center. The power supply needs to come out to install the top CD drive. LCD panel is not level, required modifying to be level.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should supply pictures in HTPC configuration, since this is the configuration that makes this a 5 egg product.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is amazing!!

Pros: As the name brand says, it is Cooler Master. The nice matte finish gives it a very nice and classic entertainment system look. With a full ATX MB, you can stick 3 drives in the exposed bays no problem!!

Cons: None what so ever.

Other Thoughts: I had initially bought an AnthenaTech case but it felt cheap and flimsy. I shouldn't have doubted Cooler Master. This is my 4th CM case and I have no complaints!!

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice

Pros: tons of room, highly reconfigurable, high quality; perfect for the control freak like me. This case will last thourgh many internal upgrades and replacements.

Cons: as others have noted, CM should hsve the 5.25" drives recessd a little more in the next version, there's plenty of room for it. could ues higher quality covers on front. but these are nits, this case is well worth the money.

Other Thoughts: remember to get a very quiet power supply. It's big (esp deep), measure the intended location first.

4 out of 5 eggsExpandability is Key!

Pros: This case has a great deal of functionality, and is perfect for a long-term HTPC case. It is one of the only HTPC cases to feature 120mm fan slots, a key in keeping things cool and quiet. Awesome product, and features, just wish I got the upgrade with the led info screen on front.

Cons: I couldn't give this a 4 for 2 reasons. The 5.25" opening does get caught when your drive opens and closes, not a big deal, but this could have been improved. And, I would have liked some fan filters, but that's it!

Other Thoughts: My HTPC case has 5 500GB Hd's, 1 160GB OS HD, 2GB Ram, Core2Duo e6700, 3 Hauppauge 500MCE Tuners, with 3 duaghter tuner slots, GeForce 7600 GT, 3Ware Raid controller, and this thing still stays cool! Freakin' awesome.

1 out of 5 eggscooler Master rc 282 media case

Pros: Great idea 120mm fans lots of room, looks good. The 282 doesnt have the buttons on the fron of the case so if you loose the remote you have to use the keyboard through your media player.

Cons: Motherboard stand offs are pressed in to the tray, you cannot remove them or adjust them. Bottom 5.25 drivebays there is not enough room behind the door when you push it shut it hits the eject buttons, you can not adjust adjust them to set the drives futhure back because of the tooless mounting.
The remote feels cheap

Other Thoughts: This case is a good idea great air circulation, just a little more thought on the door to the drive bays, and the motherboard stand offs.
