If you believe that the mark of a great system is its graphics capability, then Cooler Master’s special edition NV690 is designed with you in mind. Specifically designed for graphics-intense operations, it's nVIDIA SLI certified and will fit even the largest PCI Express graphics card in any of the 7 expansion ports - without interference from the drives – allowing you to scale up your graphics power.
The cards and the 5 externally accessible 5.25” drive bays install without tools. One bay may be converted to fit a 3.5” drive and there are 5 internal 3.5” bays as well. A well thought out cable management design keeps cords routed out of the way for ease of access as well as improved airflow within the case. The external design of the case mirrors the graphic capabilities of your system with a stylish black case with fluorescent green highlights that extend to a green window in the side.
A 120mm fan with green LED is mounted in front with a two other 120mm fans mounted in the rear and on the side. A pair of easily accessible USB 2.0 ports are mounted in the upper panel along with an IEEE 1394 port, a eSATA port and HD audio in and out jacks. The nVIDIA logo on the front proudly proclaims your preference in graphic powerhouses.

Really great case for a really great price
-
- Pros: Really roomy, good airflow, nice color and it fits everything with room to spare. Nice cable management perk, you can reroute your wires through the back of the case. Plenty of different fan position combonations. It's really quiet, quiet enough so you can use the PC at night and not bother anyone. The top fan that I put in the case is loud because it's a 100% all the time.
- Cons: The stock fans are slow. There isn't much light in the case at all. That's just about it for the cons.
- Other Thoughts: I ordered the last case before Newegg restocked today. Everything fits snug in my case. I think I'll buy different fans for the case though. I'm thinking about putting a green CCFL inside the case, it can use some light :).
I love this case
- Pros: Was my first build and this case was my most satisfying buy. Good cooling, looks awsome, plenty of room, (I like the green/black).
- Cons: It's heavy, it's big, neither of these is neccissarily bad, I don't move it around much, and I have plenty of room for it.
- Other Thoughts: I put a few more green led fans in to go for a green under black theme, it's pretty cool imo, the case is very breathable (wire mesh) and you can see them.

Costly Custom Cooler
- Pros: This is a really great box, in this size range. good planning for air flow and the wires are easy to manage and though it is tool less i still use screws and there are plenty of those supplied as well. fits a big graphics card and mo'board too. I like the array of inputs on top as well very easy to hook up and still out of the way and dont have to search the front for the proper slotI mounted a multi reader in the 3.5" i put in the top bay. Holdint plenty and having room for more expansion and fan access is another strong point. it looks restrained and classic softened glow through the mesh. I used a muchkin 580 which mounts in the bottom of these by two vented areas and it also has a very restrained green glow it casts over the floor and behind. This a case where form and function come together to make an easy build that is appealing to the senses
- Cons: The only cons are really minor in my opinion because i am sold on these cases for ths size range at about 25+ lbs it is hefty but i do not use that as a con there should be a shelf of some sort to deflect the potential spillage through the mesh right down on the cpu. But that isnt a con either not much or one.
I have the 690cm which is just about half the price when in the similar sale state so the brand id here is costly but only in reletive terms. for the 20-25 bucks you do get the lable and plastic cut out
- Other Thoughts: Not much else to say. for a bit less you get the same insides and blue led up front. so for the bottom line difference of $30 it will be green and have a small view inside with a greenish hue. It is a job i couldnt do on my own so worth it for that graphics card bunch.
I’m trying to justify the price I paid for this thing
- Pros: This is a high quality piece of work. Best I have ever had (many, many). Fit, finish, features, all become obvious as you assemble your system; and although the side panels have a complex attachment, they are so rectilinear and exact that they go on easily. Even the thumbscrews actually align perfectly so they are easy to insert.
Another benefit, the case comes with three speed-sensed, speed-controlled 120mm fans, so I didn’t have to replace them as is usual for case fans--saves 20 bucks.
- Cons: Lots of fans locations, but I covered the two fan outlets on the top, and added filters to the two on the bottom. I don’t use two or more graphics cards, and even overclocked I haven’t had temperature problems since we began using 120mm fans in PC cases, so I don’t need all those fans I used to utilize--too much noise.
- Other Thoughts: You have to love the twenty M3 and twenty 6-32 screws they provide, handily attached and available on the drive cage for use when mounting the motherboard and drives.
I have three tool-less PC cases and this one seems to secure the drives and cards more firmly and precisely than the other two (Raidmax Smilodon and NZXT Apollo, but they are alright, too).
I like the power supply in the bottom but I pointed the fan up into the case so it can aid in air flow--but now I see that I must be careful not to drop anything! I like the center of gravity being so low this way, but my anxiety level is high since all the power supply electronics are nakedly exposed. We’ll see.
Great Case
- Pros: Good cable management, plenty of space for a mid tower case. Has very good air flow, and good fan setup. This case also looks great, the black with green really set it off, especially with green led fans.
- Cons: My asus crosshair III's top PCI express x1 slot did not line up with the rear ports, minor problem but still a con.
- Other Thoughts: Despite what other reviews have said, their customer service is top notch. I was talking to an agent within 10 minutes using their online web chat. Also the cable management is very good for a mid-tower case, plenty of holes and wire ties. Also the case is build really well, again despite what others have said.
