3 out of 5 eggsHeavy and Awkward

Pros: The case is gorgeous to look at. I'm not a fan of all the gaudy LEDS in a lot of gamer cases. This case looks beautiful. The handle bars are a great feature (and a necessary one). The space and cable management are very nice.

Cons: I hate to give this case cons.. I've been oogling it's sister case (the silver version) for the longest time and decided to go all out and buy the black one (liked the color better) as I was building my dream machine. But honestly this is the most difficult case I've ever had to put stuff in.

First off the manual sucks, so if you struggle putting your cases together don't bother wasting your cash on this one. The hybrid toolless/not toolless design is pretty awful in some cases. If you're planning on utilizing the 3.5" drive bay prepare to be frustrated.

Also, DOES NOT support SSDs at all... even with a special 2.5" to 3.5" mounting bracket. Had to securing the mounting bracket in the drive bay with tape. Good thing it's a desktop and has no moving parts in the drive!

Other Thoughts: The thing is also crazy heavy.. but you should know that before buying it!

I was expecting an easier time with a case I spent so much money on. Wait for the price to come down before you buy it, it's not worth the hassle at this price point.

1 out of 5 eggsIt doesn't pain me anymore.

Pros: It's a good case as long as it doesn't ship with manufacturer defects.

Cons: I'm two for two on cases with manufacturer defects. This is in follow up to a below review. After a month of hassling with CoolerMaster customer service they still have not accepted my application for RMA and the rep I was working with on my case is ignoring me altogether. It is the most infuriatingly awful customer service I have ever encountered.

Other Thoughts: I would give this case zero eggs if I could at this point. It is the third CoolerMaster case I've purchased. There will never be a fourth.

4 out of 5 eggsDarth Vader of PC cases

Pros: Visually impressive case! The black interior is great. It is heavy, but I use the tubular rails to lug it around. Lots of sound dampening material.

Cons: As others have noticed, the cable management ports are good, but not great. The top-most port is almost useless since there is a support for the side panel just below it that blocks anything but very small cables. The MOBO side panel can be difficult to latch due to your hidden cables. I swapped the stock three-pin fans out for Cooler Master's 120mm Excalibur fans. They have 4 pins for PWM and keep things quiet when the PC isn't under load.

Other Thoughts: I would like to see CM tweak the cable management, add USB 3.0 ports, and stock this thing with 4-pin fans for the next version. This case is one of the best looking out there.

5 out of 5 eggsCool and Quiet

Pros: This case is beautiful. It has that stealthy look to it with the front door closed. Plenty of room on the inside. It is very well constructed. Nothing has a cheap feel to it at all. Runs whisper quiet and this can be further reduced by changing out the stock fans. No sharp edges to worry about. All of the mounting posts were easy to screw in.

Cons: Could have better cable management. Shoving large cables in the ducts will make it difficult to put one of the sides back on. The glossy parts will attract finger prints.

Other Thoughts: This is a VERY large case. Even knowing the dimensions before you buy it... you will still be amazed it it's actual size. It's not light either weighing in at 37lbs unloaded. Would buy again.

1 out of 5 eggspains me to do this but

Pros: Pros as everyone else. In theory this is a great 5 egg case. I have owned a silver Cosmos for a few years now and that case is fantastic in every way...

Cons: ...however the black edition seems to be suffering from quality control issues. The first case arrived with a side panel that would not stay on. If you touched the panel at all it fell off every time. If you touched other parts of the case it usually fell off. Sometimes it fell off completely of its own accord without touching any part of the case. I RMAd it.

The second case has perfect side panels (so thats 5/6 perfect and 1 awful in my experience with Cosmos side panels). However fully two thirds of the holes for a standard ATX mobo are so poorly punched/threaded that the standoffs will not go in. The rest of the holes (those unique to eATX and mATX and the righthand column of ATX) are fine. But the left and center columns of ATX are entirely useless.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to take it in to work tomorrow hopefully someone there will have a way to rethread the holes or something. Otherwise I guess I probably have to get in touch with CoolerMaster because I've held this case for more than a month now while slowly buying the parts to fill it (I inspected it on arrival of course but checking out the threading of the mobo holes did not occur to me).

I love CoolerMaster but two useless $250 cases requires a 1/5.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for any inconvenience. Please contact us if you have any trouble with any product. If side panels are bad on a certain case, we can send the side panels under warranty without needing to send the entire case back. You can do so via the Part Request option below. If there is any trouble, feel free to troubleshoot the problem and get it resolved via the Live Chat link below.

Respectfully,

CMUSA Customer Support.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good.. but ..

Pros: This case is extremely roomy and installation was smooth, no problems or whatsoever.

Cons: DO NOT! I REPEAT! DO NOT PUT TAPES ON THE HANDLER!! IT STICKY AND HARD TO REMOVE.. I had to stratch it to remove the sticker.. now I got a couple of stracthes on it.. VERY UPSET!

My Geforce 480 has a VERY difficult time adjusting to the bracket - POOR ENGINEERING DESIGN! VERY POOR! I took some pictures of it and need to send it to Coolermaster for review.. can a manafacture please give me the email link?

Other Thoughts: This case looks AWESOME and sleek!! its awesome! But the paint job got ruined because of the tape.. NO MORE TAPE! Coolermaster, use your common sense.

5 out of 5 eggs2nd Cosmos just as good as the first

Pros: Huge, quiet, pretty good airflow, like the removable HD bays, lots of fans. Gorgeous case. Whether or not the all black is worth the premium price is a personal decision but if you're gonna get a nice case you might as well get a nice case right?

Removable airfilters are very nice. You might think so what? but you'll like them once you have them.

Cons: Huge. And heavy. But if you didn't know that going in you did not do enough research on your $200 purchase.

Other Thoughts: It is expensive but as usual, you get what you pay for. Comes with a bunch of cable ties and a couple key ring screwdrivers and a few other perks. Essentially everything you need to get your rig installed.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome case but PRICEY...

Pros: This thing is sleek, sexy and beautiful. Inside is even better. For my build, all the cables hid nicely ( some what, see below) and plenty of air flow.

Cons: Well it's pricey. $250 bucks for a case that's pretty much the exact same as the $170 Cosmos except it is black just seems weird, albeit worth it in the end. The one major thing i had with this case was that one of the side panels did not want to close once i tried to hide the cables. Also, when it comes in the box, it has some sort of cloth bag covering it. For some reason, the cloth bag and the Cooler Master logo on it some how burnt in image on one of the side panel, This left like a faint ghost image of the logo on it. Not really a con, just beware.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this case is awesome. Set aside all the crazy stuff that happened in my case (no pun intended), this case is worth the money but still would have been 5 if it was cheaper. But what are you going to do :D

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent Case

Pros: - Quiet (I can't stress this enough)
- Very Handsome
- Large and easy to work with
- Everything worked right out of the box
- Easy access USB and Sata ports on top of case
- Door and other parts feel very sturdy/durabl

This case is EXACTLY as advertised. It is extremely cool inside and runs super quiet. I was actually surprised how quiet it was even with the side panel removed, which made me excited to get one with a window. (I thought it might defeat the purpose of the acoustic dampening).

I have to say, I was looking for a case/cooling company to stick with, and since I bought this case, Cooler Master is it. The case looks gorgeous sitting next to my desk, it does not give off heat like most of the other cases I've owned, and did I mention it's quiet!?

Cons: Don't expect an instruction manual with this. Also, my SSD came with 3.5 brackets and I still couldn't fit it in the cases hard drive draws. Maybe it was the screws I was using, but then again, who knows which ones to use with the lack of a manual.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, easy to work with case for modding or otherwise -- the Cosmos Pure is for you.

4 out of 5 eggsawesome but not perfect

Pros: used this for an HTPC-style setup with my AV equipment... which is all black. looks awesome with any black AV equipment and with a black window kit (sold sepp) it looks really neat because the CPU LED (for example) reflects off of the plastic vid card cross-panel thinger so if you have even a handfull of LEDs in the case, the reflection doubles the lights when viewing the case from a distance.

Cons: not enough space/depth to run cables behind the mobo/back panel. back panel will not close if you have just a handful of cables in the back. You would think that with a case this huge with so much room this would not be an issue.

Other Thoughts: Forget trying to get a completely clean cable mgmt look with this case. I had to scrape off some of the foam padding on the back plate to make room for more cables so that I can force the panel to close. I also had no choice but to run the CPU power in front/on the side of the mobo instead of behind it since the cable was plenty long but then too thick to let me close the panel.

I got the panel to close but it's still slightly bowed out. It's not that noticeable unless you really look for it but, still sucks because the corsair PSU cables were plenty long to run behind everything and I had no choice but to run a few from the side instead of completely behind the mobo.

Overall aesthetics of this case outweigh the panel issue so... def worth it. You could put the crappiest hardware in this case and the case along will make your PC look like a supercomputer.
