5 out of 5 eggsNO WASTED SPACE

Pros: I have read reviews claiming there is wasted space if not using an aftermarket video card and there is no drive cage. I don't know about the rear mount, but I purchased the front mount and there is a perfect amount of room between the psu and the mb for a Rosewill RSV-Cage for 4 x 3.5" HDDs; PERFECT. Modding is minimal; only needed to drill two holes in the cage making a four point attachment possible. I crammed a 750W psu, 4 3.5s and one 2.5 in this thing. 2.5 went in a startech hotswap pci slot enclosure.

Cons: i could always come up with something for this section until now.

Other Thoughts: quick release 5.25 bay, both sides and top removable, includes fan.

5 out of 5 eggsLove my HAF stacker 915R

Pros: Ever since I saw these babies on Newegg & Linus Tech Tips I've wanted one. Yeah, it's too big...big deal! I'm lucky, I don't have a wife to nag me that it's larger than her plants! To the naysayers: yeah, size does matter! I love the flexibility. I'm going to keep buying these monsters for future builds. I'm just beginning to explore the possibilities. This first HAF Stacker is going to run my brother's geothermal/solar/wind powered compound. And the mini-ITX in this case is going to house his I-5 ASUS gamer.

Cons: if I had a con I wouldn't have bought it...

Other Thoughts: Just because I really enjoy being redundant: IT'S BIG!!! (945) It won't fit under your desk, on your book shelf. If you live in one of those 600sf mini homes you'll need an addition to install this. If your hardware doesn't fit in a 945 CM HAF Stacker, consider building your own datacenter!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat case but a bit misleading

Pros: The case looks beautiful and is well built. It feels solid and the idea of stacking onto another like it is a pretty awesome one considering it's a pretty low profile (and roomy) case. I admire the Cooler Master brand and I'm happy with this case overall.

Cons: I love this case so far but here's why I give it 3 eggs. It explicitly stated at the time of purchase that there is room for 4 140mm fans. This is technically correct as there are 4 140mm mounts *but* you can only mount 2 fans if you put in a PSU and keep the HDD cage intact.

I bought 4 140mm fans for this case because I understood there was room for 4 of them. I was mislead, I wasted money, the purchase of this case was because I was planning on getting another one to stack on top. This oversight jeopardizes the idea of getting another one like it if I can't keep it cool.

Other Thoughts: I would have given this case 5 eggs but I knocked an egg because only 2 fans (not 4) fit (I wasted money and will waste time trying to return them) AND I knocked another egg because I specifically purchased this case for a future purchase of the same case (convinced it'll be awesome at cooling).

The cooling is good but I expected better from Cooler Master.

When the build was done, the inside of the case was amazingly roomy and pretty beautiful to look at. I hid the bulk of all cables in the top of the case and in order to see them, you'll have to bend down and look under the top. I was pretty impressed upon completion of the build.

You can get 3 fans to mount if you remove the HDD brackets, the cage doesn't get in the way but the brackets that hold the HDD do. To get a 4th fan in, you'll need to drill some holes.

I wish it really could hold 4 fans unmodded, I'd be stoked about it.

3 out of 5 eggsMachining is kind of off

Pros: It's compact, stackable, and cheap! The case is easy to work with has it opens from both sides. There is a wealth of configuration options. I plan to keep this one around for use with future builds.

Cons: The machining is off on the panel facing the memory sticks. I could not unscrew the screw at the bottom on that side without vice grips. Now that it's unscrewed I can not put the screw back in as it appears to be cross-threaded.

The PCI screws are also off. After installing a AMD Radeon R9 290X only one of the screws would seat properly. There is about a millimeter and a half offset preventing me from installing the second screw.

Other Thoughts: I really like this case and I'm annoyed by the two small issues that I've had so far but not enough to return the whole thing. I definitely hope that this is an isolated incident. I previously had a Cooler Master Storm Sniper (SGC-6000-KXN1-GP) mid-tower and loved it. I got this case as a build up to a 935 or 945 setup.

3 out of 5 eggsNice, but....

Pros: Unique design.
Removable panels, nice drive rack, good quality.

Cons: The pictures show three drive bays mounted. However, where do you get these drive bays? Not in the USA it seems. The CM store lists a "kit" here is the description:
"The HAF Stacker Storage Kit includes a HDD cage with 3 tool-less trays, a SATA power cable extender, a PSU shield and an I/O shield. The extra HDD cage provides improved expandability - up to 9 HDDs can be supported in the HAF Stacker 915R! In addition, you can use the SATA power cable extender to connect the HDDs in the two cases of HAF Stacker 935, which makes cable management much more easier. And if you want to prevent dust from falling into the 915R, just simply add the PSU and I/O shields

A HDD cage with 3 tool-less trays
Dust-proof PSU and I/O shields included
Easy-to-link: the SATA power cable extender helps to connect the hard drives in HAF Stacker 935"

Of course, it is out of stock in the USA, and the UK lists 2 in stock. So to put three drive bays in the case you have to buy two of the kits, getting at least two parts that you won't need. No listing of just the cage. Don't list features CM if they can't be implemented!!!!!! I can't say this enough. Also, it is so difficult to have NewEgg or some other vendor carry these kits? Or just the drive bays?

Other Thoughts: I am currently researching getting some aftermarket drive bays to use instead of the "out of stock" kits in the CoolerMaster USA store. I guess I can just make the panels out of some scrap aluminum. Swing and a miss, CM.

5 out of 5 eggsLove the case. A simple mod made me buy this over the 915f

Pros: The case is highly durable, stackable (duh, but it really works), and is easy to work in.

Honestly I don't think there is anything better or worse about this than the 915F. It is a "pick your poison" kind of thing where you get neat and easy hard drive installation and access with this case, but at the cost of clearance over the motherboard due to the rear-mount psu.

I have my improvement mods in the "other thoughts" section, which kept me from buying the 915F.

Nice drive cage.

Can take bigger radiators with some modding.

Cons: The rear mounted psu means you can't overclock (unless you have a liquid cooler or very good low-profile fan-sink. Even then, installation isn't fun when you know that upgrading means taking out the psu to get at the mobo.

There is only a 92mm front fan.

The psu is ONLY (and ONLY) supported by 4 screws. I have a fix for this though...

Other Thoughts: This is how I improved this case:

1) I painted two 2"x3" l-brackets from the hardware store black (heat resistant non-gloss coating) and installed them directly under the psu to give it support. This required some drilling, but the end-product was great, especially since the black-matte spray blends with the case.

2) I installed a 120mm fan between the hard-drive cage and mobo. This dramatically increased air-flow and improved my chipset temps.

Overall the case is wonderful. I have three identical server boxes (stacked) for different purposes. It is nice to have this system. As an IT technician it is great to have a home-friendly server rack! This case makes this a reality.

In the future, I may remove the side panels to experiment with adding a single air-cooling system via large air-ducts - similar to enterprise server rooms.

5 out of 5 eggscase

Pros: this case is Perfect for my needs, both sides come off, the top comes off and the front comes off leaving you with a bare skeleton ( Perfect for the Modder ), there is one removable 3 stack drive bay, once it is removed the inside is completely bare for you to do to as you see fit.
Each side panel can hold a maximum 360mm radiator or 2 240mm radiators

Cons: absolutely NO cons,

Other Thoughts: I am still drooling over what I'm going to cut first, The window I'm going to cut into the left side panel, or the duel drive bay opening I'm going to cut and build in the front for a Dual bay Reservoir.

I am using this with a Thermal take case, so you are not just limited to one brand of case, Measure- Measure-Measure and be ready to MOD.!!!!! to your needs
