Who says cutting edge cool has to be expensive? Ark's 6099-CA begs to differ. This highly affordable case doesn't need any fancy words to show its edge of cool, one picture is more than enough. But don't think this is just another pretty face. With four external 5.25" drive bays, a 3.5" external drive bay, and three internal 3.5" drive bays, this case has room for whatever you need of it. The two USB ports are placed on either side of the two audio ports to prevent the frustration of trying to fit two cords that are just slightly too large.

The side panel is nearly all vent, and includes an air duct for optimum air movement. The pre-mounted 80mm blue LED fan on top, with another 80mm fan in the front, makes sure the heat from this system is just from its looks. With all this, what more could be asked of it? How about the durability of steel to protect your investment? This is indeed the total package you’ve been looking for.

  • newegg Great Expandability with 8 Drive Bays Boasting four external 5.25" drive bays, one external and three internal 3.5" drive bays, the ARK 6099-CA provides great expandability.
  • newegg Effective Cooling The ARK 6099-CA features two 80mm fans (one in the front for HDD cooling and one on the top for ventilation) and a mesh side panel with air duct for the optimum cooling performance.
  • newegg Built-in 400W Power Supply The ARK 6099-CA is equipped with a powerful 400W ATX v2.0 power supply unit to provide strong power for all components installed and to ensure a high level of system reliability.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty sexy case.

Pros: This case is aesthetically attractive. Having the combination feet on the bottom (which lift it off the floor, so it'll intake slightly less dust) and handles on the top gives it a unique look that I've gotten many comments on. The handles in particular are especially nice to have for portability, and they're sturdy enough to pick up the whole machine by without fear. There's a pretty good amount of room in it for a case of this class, and lots of places to conceal cables if you're a cable management freak like I am. There are also a number of mount points for fans, depending on how crazy you want to get with that. And, like with most cases of similar construction, it firms up considerably as you build.

Cons: Whenever I get a case in this class, I always assume that I'm not going to use any of the "extras" that come with it. Look for an appealing design inside and out, and halfways decent structural integrity. I removed the PSU without even powering it on once and replaced it with something more solid. I replaced the fans with my own, partly due to the color scheme I was after and partly because I didn't want to trust the ones that came with it.

One annoyance is the plastic clip apparatus that's designed to hold the expansion cards in place. After one look at this contraption I knew I wasn't going to use it. Fortunately, it comes off easily with just a couple of screws, and you can use the more traditional method. You'll need your own case screws, but if you're a builder you should really have some extras lying around anyway.

Other Thoughts: The front facade is plastic/fiberglass, but I really haven't had any problems with it and it's a standard practice for cases like this. I don't consider it a con, as I haven't had any problems with it.

I'm very fond of this case, and it's a shame that it seems to be so difficult to find these days. It's a cool design, echoing the lines of the Mac towers without having to actually buy a Mac tower.

3 out of 5 eggsUsed this CASE for a custom build server..

Pros: Love the case design and the fact it has handles.
Plenty space internally.
Everything installed easily.

Cons: Power Supply is trash! ORDER A SPARE!! BUT WHAT CAN U EXPECT 4 THE PRICE...
Handles were a little difficult to attach AND SCREW DOWN!
USB port at the top of this case interfere with my 5.25" drives as the wire must run from the top of the case down to the mobo!
FANS ARE WEAK!!!
SYSTEM TO HOLD MY PCI CARDS IN SUCK!!!

Other Thoughts: OVERALL THE CASE IS GOOD!
BUTTTTTT!!!!!! BE SURE TO ORDER ANOTHER PSU, FANS, AND SPARE SCREWS

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great.

Pros: Amazing case, good price, and comes with a power supply!

How is that not good?

Cons: The top USB cable was extremely short and it was hard too get it connected to the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: All in all good strong case, and came with a good power supply that powered everything with no issue.

1 out of 5 eggsLoud, proud but no balls

Pros: It's sturdy as a brick, used for LAN gatherings several times.

Cons: Stock fans have poor air flow, case is cramped even with a micro ATX and let's hope your video card isn't anything bigger then a 9800 or you're going to enjoy that. The net mesh beneath the coverings may seem like a good idea, but in reality it's a lint trap for all the dust your fans are pushing and needs regular cleaning.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the time, look elsewhere

3 out of 5 eggsFancy, not fundamental

Pros: Plenty of expansion bays. Looks very nice on the outside.

Cons: Needs a rear fan. Core 2 Quad processor overheated regularly until I installed exhaust fan. The included fans do not push too much air. Only two SATA power connectors.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad case, but you'll DEFINITELY want an exhaust fan.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: A+ Materials, Very Sturdy Case. Better than some of those at higher prices. Took a case mod of a 250mm case fan very well, thank heavens for a dremel!! Plenty of expansion slots and room. Lots of nice nooks and crannies to hide and route wires for a "clean" look.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsgood case

Pros: good solid case has lots of room plenty of vents an holes for air has handles to help you move it from place to place

Cons: pretty big its actuly 2X bigger than my old case the 2 fans that come with it are not vary good thye do put out a decent amount of air but when i was hooking them to my power supply the metal pins would slide or try to fall out of the holders also there was a plastic air duct wich actuly blocked alot of air from being pulled away from my GPU area so i removed it an things ran even cooler

Other Thoughts: i would suggest getting a fan that is as big as the slot for a case fan mine was smaller an didnt seem to push as much air as it did in my old case so im replaceing it with a 120mm from a 80mm

4 out of 5 eggsget what you pay for

Pros: It's an AMAZING case for the money! pretty sturdy for being mesh, and I'm getting record low temps.

Cons: a couple screws were bored improperly thus making screwing in some case screws hard, like any plastic pieces on any case plastic is flimsy, and the window door to the cd tray wouldnt close on its own... not really a big deal took that little device off anyways.

THERE ARE ZERO INSTRUCTIONS, not even a small booklet.

Other Thoughts: i did NOT rate this case as "coming with a power supply" since the psu is trash. dont buy this for the PSU...

1 out of 5 eggsI think you're crazy!

Pros: Cheap, lights up, 'cool' aspect.

CONS CONS CONS CONS CONS CONS Need more room for cons. lol

Where do I start?

Front Panel: What you see is what it is. The panel has no supporting structure too it, picture a fiberglass mold, and how it's secured to the tower is ridiculous. Only six thin plastic clips hold it in place, sometimes.

Side Panels: Though they don't warp they do bend slightly. (Again, lack of structure) This means you must have four hands too have it properly sit in correctly and a fifth to slide it into place.

Expansion Slot Clips: Completely idiotic. There is no easy way to put anything in. Normally you take the tempory metal slot cover off and you slide in your card (Like a NES cartridge), but the construction of the clips doesn't allow this. Unfortuinitly it's pointless plastic that you HAVE to use.

Cons: Structure: Other then the rectangular shell the internals were too bendable. 5.25 & 3.5 slot were too wide, but could bend once screws were tightened???

Motherboard Panel: Very flimsy and bends a little to much during normal usage. Also, the screw holes weren't milled incorrectly. 50% of screws placed had to by wrenched in.

Screws: ONLY 8 STANDOFF SCREWS CAME WITH MY CASE. The only reason I got my graphics card in was due to the sheer warp~age of my mobo cause the lack of supports. 'ARK' you're always one step ahead of me arn't you? lol

Cables: Speaker and usb cables to short. Yes, they will reach the opposite corner of the case, but like my intestines they need to swerve and wiggle around things. Power/light/hdd light cables are far too long and are just a mess.

Legs/Handle: When assembling the handles/feet you must align a clip, slide it, and screw it in. (Like a case side panel) But the holes for the clips are too small on the bottom (Top was fine) and I had to widen t

Other Thoughts: Also, the curve of the feet makes the case slightly tippy towards the mobo side.

Other: For such a "Open air design" you'd think there'd be air vents in the floor and the front panel would be and open vent, but I guess it would break under its own weight at that point.

If it wasn't for my time restraints and the money i spent, I would have gladely thrown this case out, but if that's still not clear on how I feel I'll say this.

I will avoid this company from here on out and you should too, it's a decient looking case, but it's just too poor of quality. Don't buy this product. Plain and simple.
