Antec's thoughtfully-designed P182SE case brings you top performance and unique style, with its mirror-finished stainless steel exterior. Inside, a separate lower chamber with its own 120 mm TriCool fan houses your power supply (purchased separately), isolating its heat, and reducing system noise. The upper chamber comes standard with rear and top 120 mm TriCool fans, with spaces for an optional front 120 mm fan, and a middle 120 mm fan to cool your VGA.
The three-layer side panel and front door stifle system noise for a quiet experience, then opens 270-degrees for easy access. A flexible snake light is pre-installed in the case, so you can see what you’re doing. Front-mounted ports give you easy access to two USB 2.0 connectors, one IEEE 1394 connector, and audio jacks. Rear panel features external controls for the fans in the upper chamber.
You'll have all the room you need to build your dream system in this case, with bays for four external 5.25" drives, one external 3.5" drive and six internal 3.5" drives. There's space for an ATX motherboard up to 12"(W) x 9.6"(L), seven expansion slots, and rubber-grommeted mounts on the rear for an optional external liquid cooling system. Built-in cable organizer behind motherboard tray keeps your cables under control. This wonderful case has everything you need to build your white hot gaming system!

Excellent case
- Pros: Improves on the already great p180 by including enough space behind the motherboard tray for virtually all the cables. Designed for excellent quiet operation and mirror panels are certainly worth it. Door opens 270 degrees so you can choose easy access to optical drives (open) or style (closed).
- Cons: Very heavy (38 pounds)...my box is like lead brick now. The p180 is heavy but this case is even more so since stainless steel replaces the aluminum. The build quality is top notch though, making the extra weight worth it. Of course the cost, but the case will last longer than that $500 video card, so why not make it worth it?
- Other Thoughts: Make sure you buy a PSU with long enough cables as this is a large case. I used a Seasonic S12 with no troubles in here.
The Scythe Ninja makes an awesome heatsink for this case design since it is nicely positioned between the two case fans.
Parts: Intel 975 mobo, E6600 Core 2, nVidia 8800 GTS (640 meg), Kingston HyperX (800 mhz)
An excellent case
- Pros: This is a really good case, highly optimized for silence. If you build carefully, even a high performance computer can be pretty darn quiet. I can tell mine is on, but the noise is not at all annoying, just a very subdued sound of air moving.
The default mounting pin layout was perfect for me: an ASUS P5B dropped straight in with no post changes. The drives go on squishy grommets, which decouples them completely; I can't hear the Raptor 150 *at all*. Upper bays use drive rails, which is super handy. The top of the case even hides an LED snakelight! Not useful on initial build because there's no power yet, but will be handy later on for routine maintenance.
- Cons: Two problems, really. You need a power supply with very long cables. I put a Seasonic 430W in it, and while it's very quiet, there's just no way to get the 8-pin power plug up to the top of the motherboard. Just not gonna happen. Fortunately, my motherboard can use a 4-pin plug instead, and that just barely made it. You want a power supply with super long cables for this case! (or extension cables).
Second: the fan in the power supply zone doesn't have a grille in front of it, and it's very close to the drives. This makes it difficult to run cables without getting them chewed up by whirling blades of death. I think it would be tricky to mount more than 2 or 3 drives in there; it may take special cable ties or something. This is a bad design flaw and needs fixing.
- Other Thoughts: This is a really nice case, thoughtfully designed and extremely easy to work on and with. It's not truly silent, but it's very, very quiet. The SFF21-series fans (I used the Es) are good replacements for the Antec Tri-Cools; they move a little more air at the same RPM, but are substantially quieter. If you add two SFF21Es, you can replace the upper two fans, and then use your leftover Tri-Cools as extra fans if you need more cooling. There are two optional fan mount points, and you'll have two spare fans. :) The SFF21s also plug into the motherboard, where the Tri-Cools do not, so you can use motherboard heat-monitoring software to speed them up when needed. The Tri-Cools have an external switch, so you can speed them up yourself (which is handy), but I personally prefer the automated solution.
There's nothing wrong with the Tri-Cools at all. They are excellent fans. Replace them only if you are truly uptight about noise. :)

Finely crafted lead weight
- Pros: Extremely excellent workmanship. I've owned many cases in my lifetime and I must say they outdid themselves. There are nice little features in all the nooks of this case that make it a cut above 99% of the others out there. Also, it's a classy design that will stand the test of time unlike many of the foofoo cases on the market.
- Cons: Expect extra cost in purchasing a forklift to move this sucker if you have it packed full of harddrives, etc. Not the greatest for lugging to a lanparty - skinny nerd limp noodles need not apply.
- Other Thoughts: Get this sucker. You won't be dissapointed.
Perfect Case, highly recommended
- Pros: Normally I avoid writing a review if I didn't buy it on Newegg, but this case is the one exception. For anybody who wants a well ventilated, dust filtering, and quiet mid atx case, this is it. I absolutely love the design and the layout. interior is pleasing to look at. Great wind tunnel design. Sturdy case. Having an HDD cage is useful for adding extra storage. Looks sleek and professional. Even the fans on at high were not that annoying. I set mine on medium and can hardly notice it. Cable routing system was excellent. Lots of pathways to choose from that fit your needs. Dust filters in the front are really helpful. Easy to clean, and keeps your case less dusty for a longer period of time.
- Cons: It’s heavy with nothing in it, and heavier with everything in it. Don’t drag this thing on carpet. One of the rubber feet came off, but nothing that super glue can’t fix. Be sure your power supply has long cables. I have the PC Power & Cooling 750W silencer.
- Other Thoughts: I read reviews earlier about how the length of this psu can create unnecessary obstacles, but if you spend one day routing the cables before you put anything in there, you’ll be fine. Plan ahead and think about what cables you need and don’t need. Once you have that settled, put the cables you don’t need in the hole above the power supply. I put all mine in the floppy disk drive which I don’t use, so it worked for me. The wires I used, I used the back panel routing system. Do this and you're set. I'm extremely happy with this case. Can't imagine myself with any other case.
Fantastic Case
- Pros: Obviously a very nice finish. Looks fantastic. The layout is very nice. Cable management works very well. External switches for fan speed is awesome. Very quiet case. With fans on low setting, you will hear a whoosh but that's about it. Door has magnets on it to make the door close firmly. This thing just feels really really solid.
- Cons: The cable management works great, however if I could change anything about the case, I would allow at least 1/2 inch more clearance between the motherboard back plane and the side of the case. It's hard (but not impossible) to the get case side on there if you have a lot of thick power cables running behind the back plane.
- Other Thoughts: This is really a great case. I would buy again in a heartbeat. It has really made working with my computer more enjoyable. Mainly because it is much quieter than my old case and because it looks very nice. After seeing this thing in person, it really does look as good as you think it might.
