2 out of 5 eggsCheap case, bad software

Pros: LCD display is decent. Nice airflow design. Volume control knob.

Cons: The reset button gets stuck, it wasn't made well so after pressing the button you must disassemble the case to prevent the button from being stuck "in". The DVD drive button feels cheap, it's hard to press and doesn't contact with the DVD drive's button well. The iMon software is junk, it has a IR receiver built into the case that uses iMon software, which works with Windows MCE but not with MyMovies or other third party apps for MCE. Case has a hard drive light, which can just be unplugged but who wants a blinking light on a MCE case. The cutouts for the front connectors for done very cheaply. The included fans are very loud.

Other Thoughts: Decent case, but I wouldn't buy it again.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommended case

Pros: Well built case has a professional finish that matches my cable box and my Sony AV receiver. Does not appear home-built. Installed 1.5 TB of SATA HDD and Bluray burner. All fits and works seamlessly.

Cons: Elected to not purchase IR transmitter with case. This was a mistake, as it is not available separately for later purchase. Fortunately this is not problematic, as I use the Sony system volume control via HDMI to the AV receiver.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but should be better

Pros: The whole design is refreshingly understated and could pass for a home theater component. The low and wide proportions are just right. The Antec logo is (in my opinion) perfectly displayed -- it's etched in flat black so it doesn't call attention to itself, but it adds to the quality look of the case when you stop to look up close at the details.

The front panel is made of quality brushed aluminum with a solid-feeling volume knob and a flush-fitting optical drive door that is compatible with most optical drives. The interfaces (USB, firewire, audio) aren't hidden behind a door (I don't like doors) and are cleanly integrated with the front face.

The rest of the construction is steel painted black, but it looks good, and will fit in with other home theater components.

There are two 120mm case fans on the side that exhaust heat from the case and assist with using passive cooling for the CPU and GPU.

Cons: I wasn't expecting much from the "LCD" -- indeed, I didn't want a high-res touchsceen for something that will be connected to a HDTV and operated with a remote or a wireless keyboard. All I wanted was a small screen that would display basic info, the kind of thing you'd see on a home theater component. This case seemed to have exactly what I was looking for -- a small, simple screen. However, the screen is SHOCKINGLY BAD -- it's so awful that I always leave it off. The backlight bleed is TERRIBLE and makes it effectively just an obnoxious blue light instead of a screen, even with the brightness set to minimum. The included software is a joke. Using such a low-quality screen on any product is inexcusable and shows Antec will sell you garbage if you're not careful.

The power LED is the most obnoxious hue of blue and distractingly bright when trying to watch a HDTV in a dark room. Another "feature" I soon disconnected.

Other Thoughts: It's a good design if you disconnect the lousy screen and the blue LED's. The screen doesn't have to be high-end -- it just shouldn't scream "this is garbage" in my living room. Also, both the screen and the power & HDD LED's should be variable color and variable brightness, to accomodate each customer's desired living room.

3 out of 5 eggsAntec Fusion

Pros: Nice case, good quality overall. VFD is okay not sure how useful in the big scheme of things

Cons: Heavy and large for a micro-ATX case really no size advantage over full size ATX

3 out of 5 eggsReally Annoying

Pros: Solidly built and stylish. Built in fans have speed control and are plenty quiet at the medium setting. Separate compartments help manage noise and heat.

Cons: Extremely poor user documentation. There are parts and wires in the case that are not mentioned in the manual. A piece of paper that shows how to hook up the power switch (PS) cable to the VFD is little more than a diagram showing before and after without properly labeling anything. The PS cable is just barely long enough to reach the plug in the VFD so that the system can be powered on by remote. Not only that but the 5.25" drive cage catches the PS cable, pulling it so tight that the pins on the VFD board get bent and the cable is placed in danger of being severed. Since Antec provides a power supply with this case one would assume that the cables are long enough to reach the plug for CPU power. When in place the cable is stretched so tight that it pushes against any video or expansion cards. Also, there are too many molex connectors and too few sata power connectors. The VFD is completely useless for anything other than Media Center.

Other Thoughts: I like Antec cases. They are well built, solid, and usually appeal to my aesthetic tastes. Antec appears to have cut a few corners on the design of this rig, leading to a number of serious headaches for system builders.

A better manual and a different layout of compartments is at the top of my wish list for this case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This case was perfect for me since it was going to be an addition to my entertainment center. Blends in just like a receiver no one can tell its a computer.

Cons: None, Love the case!!

Other Thoughts: I can see how the Lights and LCD can get annoying but for me its will the cable box and etc so it just adds to the many lights already there.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very well built case, quiet and looks like a high end amp whe in my AV rack. I love the from LCD panel which displays news and system information though who really wants to read the news flash on a tiny screen.

Cons: only 2 hard drive bays but if you get and ESATA port you can use outside storage at the same transfer rate.

Other Thoughts: With the mail in rebate I think this case is very nice for the money.

1 out of 5 eggsNice case, REBATE = SHAM

Pros: Case looks nice. Glad I bought it.

Cons: I bought this case with a rebate. The other day my rebate status changed from: "You will get your rebate by Dec 19th" to "We don't know what the status is with your rebate anymore!"

Calls to the rebate center pointed me towards another Antec number which no one answers.

Antec should be ashamed of themselves.

Other Thoughts: This case is nice. Only consider buying this case if you don't mind paying full price for it. Antec doesn't deliver on their rebate promises.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Enough space, hard drives up front, easy to remove ROM bay, 2 very silent fans, the LCD actually works properly from the stock drivers given with the case, stock PSU seems enough to handle basic cheap HTPC parts.

Cons: The case is bigger then I thought, cable management is a nightmare.

Other Thoughts: I usually would 4 star a case thats priced like this that gives little cable management options, but the overall style, ease of use, and nice placement of peripherals was excellent. I thought I would an insult to 4 star a case like this just due to cable management.
