Made of durable 0.8mm cold rolled steel construction, the silver colored Micro-ATX Media Center chassis has an aluminum plate front bezel with a Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) and Volume Control for media center applications, and includes space for a user-mounted IR receiver. Beautiful
- Pros: Absolutely beautiful. The 2 120mm fans move alot of air extremely quietly on the low setting. The VFD display is gorgeous and works immediately after installing drivers.
- Cons: I've put together 2 NSK 2400's and just put this Fusion together. It looks like the cover that slides on top sticks out a tiny tiny bit on all 3 in certain places. Meaning it is not completely flush. Not enough to affect my opinion, or rating on this case.
- Other Thoughts: Great case for an HTPC or even extremely powerful processor. It's so quiet I can't tell it's even on w/ an X2 4600, Blue Orb II Heatsink (I didn't think was going to fit), and the Asus AM2 socket M2NPV-VM motherboard which actually comes with VGA out, DVI out, Component (RGB), S-Video, and Composite. This is the exact same case as the Antec NSK 2400. I built a system in the NSK 2400 as well w/ a Pentium D 805. The only difference between the cases is the Fusions front looks more like stainless, the VFD display, and the Volume Knob. The NSK 2400 is really pretty with a silver face NEC burner in it for One Hundred Dollars less than this one. I don't think the flip down door that holds the burner is flimsy at all. It does make a loud noise every time it flips down and opens. Awesome case for the money. Great case period. Has bigger quieter fans and better cooling in my opinion than any other HTPC case.
Fusion makes a great HTPC
- Pros: Looks great. Used with the MSI 6150 mobo, a XP64 3200 CPU and a Thermalright heatsink and it's a sweet HTPC. Runs extremely quiet; there are two case fans, you don't need both on for more than adequate cooling. Easy to assemble. DVD drive is hidden by the flip-down door, which worked right the first time I installed my drive.
- Cons: These are not really cons, just small gripes...the VFD display on the front has characters that are a bit small to be easily seen from ten feet away. The included driver offers limited configuration of what the VFD shows. However, you can get LCD Smartie (open source) and the Soundgraph plugin for it to set it up for whatever you want.

So close to five eggs
- Pros: Beautiful craftsmanship in this case. By far the most expensive case I've purchased for a home PC, it's like moving into the mid-range car market from the fleet class.
The heat baffles are well thought out and construction of the case is top notch.
HDD and optical drive mounting are neatly laid out and easily accessible for installation / replacement.
- Cons: SATA power can only reach to the internal hard drive slots. If you have a SATA DVD-ROM you're going to be out of luck.
Were it not for my supply of SATA vampire taps I would be RMA'ing my optical drive.
Additionally, (from the manual) "Your VFD comes with a 4 pin internal USB adapter..." Mine did not, will be calling Newegg for advice.
- Other Thoughts: As in my other post regarding this purchase, less than 24 hours from online purchase to delivery ... Wow!
a new review
- Pros: 3 separate compartments for heat isolation is nice. fans, when set on low power are really quite. once working the vfd is a nice add on. the tech support was very helpful for any newbies like me. this is a really sturdy box, heavy too.
- Cons: you have to battle vfd a bit to get it to work. there are new 64-bit drivers on their website, only 32-bit are on the installation disk. also there are only 2 SATA power connectors comming from the power supply and they are on the same line, so if you have two hard drives, they will be used up. if you have an SATA dvd-rom, you will need to order a connector to go from molex to SATA.
- Other Thoughts: push volume knob to mute is not included, they discontinued it before production, but it still somehow made it into the advertisement.
Very Satisfied
- Pros: Decent power supply, looks quite nice, extremely quiet, runs cool, good compartment design.
- Cons: None really. Only negative I've had is that on one rare occasion I noticed my VPD display spitting out random number and symbols for some reason. Probably just a small bug.
- Other Thoughts: This was my first microatx setup I've put together. Best advice I can give is to THINK THINGS THROUGH before you start screwing stuff in and figure out the order to make everything fit. I had to take a step back and pull things out several times because something wouldn't fit after something else was already in place (example: after getting almost everything put together, I had to remove the entire motherboard again because the only way the SATA connection would plug in was if it was done before the motherboard was even set down into the case). Not a complaint - that's just the price you pay for wanting a small case in your living room.
