Thermaltake presents a compact yet powerful case armed with extreme-venting capability and advanced features that make it an unprecedented mobile gaming powerhouse. The Thermaltake LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS comes with a 5.25" and a 3.5" external drive bay, as well as two 3.5" internal drive bays. But what sets it apart is the 7" external drive bay for the express use of an integrated monitor that could be converted to a second 5.25" drive bay if needed.
Putting this system together is a breeze. Everything from the motherboard tray to the external and internal drive bay cages is removable with a twist of the thumb screws for easy installation. Your system will be kept cool thanks to the aerodynamically-designed ventilation holes, a 90mm blue LED front fan and two 60mm rear fans.
The LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS enables the use of most high-end CPUs, powerful graphic cards and even a full-size power supply. With all this, what more could you ask for? How about the strength and durability of steel to protect your investment? This could indeed be the total package that'll allow you to kick some serious LAN!

Good Small Case
- Pros: This box WILL fit a x8800gtx *read other thoughts. Very Quiet.
I recommend replacing stock heatsync with a wide one. You have about 100mm of clearance off the top of the mobo for a heatsync.
Everything is thumbscrews (except for the parts that you want screws). Expansion slots use screws (THANK YOU). I hate those cheap clips that never work. You can pretty much take apart the entire case without a screw driver, except for the hard drive cage, and the PSU mounts.
- Cons: Not many places to hide cables. Cables on front to connect to mobo are quite long.
12" cathodes wont really fit anywhere in this case with all the cables. I recommend smaller ones, maybe 8".
Top panel has a lot of vent holes, but half of them are covered by metal. I am thinking about cutting a hole in the PSU mount to install another 60mm fan blowing up out the top.
Hard drive cage conflicts with long cards. I wish they moved it over an inch or two, but oh well. I improvised (read below).
- Other Thoughts: I fit both my hard drives in the cage, and used an x8800gtx. Tips: Mount the hard drives backwards (so only 2 screws per drive in the middle). Then slide the drive cage onto only 2 brackets, and drill a new hole for the screw. Put some foam under the other end. I tried every other combination and this is the only one that works
After doing that, the drive cage doesn't vibrate, and holds both my drives fine.
Be sure to put the cd drive bays in before putting the x8800gtx card in, otherwise you wont be able to get it in.
Also, mobo cables can be crammed to the side of the mobo, and taped or tied into place. Then they are completely out of sight.
definitely go modular. With modular cables I have 4 cables plugged in and the 24 pin power cable, and its already overflowing the top part of my case. These wires can be stuffed above the cd drives though to remain out of sight for the most part.
Get a third 60mm fan for the back. (30 degrees celcius dif without the fans running)
Rock Solid and Sleek
- Pros: This is a rock solid case that's easy to work on and almost completely tooless except for the need of a Phillips for mounting harddrives, DVD drives, etc. Plenty of room for components, runs quiet and looks sleek. Front bay covers work great with my DVD drive and look stealthy, USB ports and audio in front side are convenient, and
- Cons: Some might find this a tad on the big side for M-ATX, but other then the MB, it fits almost all other standard sized components.
- Other Thoughts: Running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+(65W), MB is ASUS M2NPV-VM M-ATX, VideoCard is ASUS EN8600 GT (fanless), 2 GB RAM, 1 250GB HDD mounted in the side bracket (pulled out the unused 2 drive mount to improve airflow), Lite-On 20X DVD burner, and PSU is Ultra XVS 500W which is a full size PSU with 120mm fan and Modular Cables. Everything runs quiet, cool and minimal wattage. Will upgrade HDD to a Raptor shortly.

Expect some mods
- Pros: Small compact; nice looking case
- Cons: Power supply didn't fit correctly; had to cut out braket to make the supply fan seat flush; Double HDD bay blocks fan; If you use HDD bay expect to purchase special cables if have ASUS Rampage Gene. 90 deg. cables that came with MB will not work; there is less than an inch between the board and Bay.
- Other Thoughts: If you looking for good airflow this is probably not the case you want; there is a model similar that has solid side panels, that way fans could be added on.
Case could have been laid out a little bit better to utilize space. i7 920 Asus Rampage II Gene mATx 1000w Antec PS 6 GB DDR3 OCZ
Form is Function
- Pros: Thick steel chassis, well thought component placement, and high quality included components make this unit a great way to enjoy a low profile, high performance setup. It's simple, sleek, functional, and well built; period.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: This is a case intended to be compact and that means taking the time to plan your installation is key to a quality outcome. Slight modding was required to fit the large ATi Card. I suggest some small zip ties for cable management.
Running: PhenomII x4 @3.0Ghz 8GB DDR21066 ATi 4870 2x 74GB WD Raptors in RAID0 800watt PSU
Good but a few flaws
- Pros: - See-thru sides are cool
- Clean looks, not over-designed - Dual 60mm fans right behind the processor - My extra-tall Gkill DDR2 fits well with no issues - Covered drive panels keep the front looking good - Comes with a decent blue-led 90mm in the front, and dual 60 mm in the back - Not as heavy as you'd think. It's big, but still portable.
This is a micro-Atx case, so obviously there are a few size concerns to address. I tried an Arctic Cooling 64, but it was about 2 cm too tall. I then tried a MASSCOOL 5U1082F1M4 90mm, and it fits well and cools great. I have an Amd 720 in this case and the thing humms.
Cooling in this case is great, there are no issues at all with the drives or the proc..
- Cons: - No firewire connectors
- My extra-long and wide Nvidia 275 GTX causes multiple issues
This could have really been a great case. It has a 2-drive 3.5" internal HDD cage, but a long video card makes it so it won't fit. If Thermatake would have offset this case by just an inch, I could have used it. PCI-e video cards are long guys!! Come on.
The video card also hit on the upper drive cage (the one that holds the optical drives and one external 3.5") but it was still usable with a bit of flex in the video card :(. I took the cage out and fixed it on a bench grinder.
- Other Thoughts: It's a good case. It's decent sized for micro-atx, it has a full size PSU, micro-atx boards only have one PCI-e...so get 1 good video card :). I was happy with the memory clearance and with the layout. There are a few ways a bit better design could have made this a really great case.
They also made this case with full-metal sides for those of you who aren't into the bling....
