Experience the ultimate in hand-crafted cases with Thermaltake's SwordM VD5000BNA case. This massive chassis is a solid piece of engineering with impeccable build quality made of extruded aluminum in a design taking inspiration from the curves of ancient Chinese swords. The thick doors and side panels are supported by racing style hydraulic cams to allow them to open effortlessly. They feature ridged styling that not only adds style but eliminates the possibility of accidental scrapes. Up to six 5.25" drives can be mounted for external access with two bays being convertible to mount 7" devices including an optional 7" LCD touch screen monitor. Another three 3.5" drives can be mounted internally. All drives can be installed without the use of tools and with removable drive cages. Up to seven PCI expansion cards can be similarly installed tool-free. What tools you might use frequently can be stored in a convenient compartment at the base of the front bezel.
The SwordM takes cooling seriously. Ventilation openings are spaces all around the case for optimal thermal dissipation. The revolutionary open back plate design provides maximum internal airflow and the stylish back door eliminates cable clutter, improving the flow of air within the case. Up to 12 120mm fans can be utilized to cool the case and its components. A 120mm blue LED fan is mounted in the front to draw air in, and 120mm fans are mounted in pairs in the top and rear panels to exhaust the heat. And, because current processors and graphic cards generate increased thermal loads, a liquid cooling system has been pre-installed.
The all-copper water block will support ATX, MicroATX and Extended ATX boards including all AMD K8 series processors as well as Intel Pentium 4 LGA775 and 478 platforms. Both ATi Crossfire and nVIDIA SLI graphic cards are supported. A 400L/hour pump can handle any additional water blocks needed to cool GPU, Memory, Northbridge or HDD and it pumps coolant through 3/8" UV industrial-grade tubing. A transparent, easy-to-fill 350cc reservoir lets you keep tabs on coolant levels. Pre-drilled tube fittings allow for future upgrades and bushings protect the tubes from damage by the metal case. A high-performance 295mm x 216mm radiator is cooled by a pair of 120mm, low-noise fans.
