4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: I love this case, Its the first case that I have had that truly allows for multi-systems setups. It has full cable management properties, allows use of water cooling or air cooling. Fits just about anything you can throw at it.

I love the fact that PSU is on the ground, however you do need to make sure that you put your PC on something hard or keep it off the floor so it has proper air flow.

Cons: Probably the biggest down fall of it, is the compartmental set up. The plastic pieces can some time be hard to put together. After numerous times of taking it apart and putting it together i still run into some problems.

Other than that i really dont have a problem

Other Thoughts: Crosshair III Formula Mother board

2 120 GB Corsiar Force SSD raid 0

5 out of 5 eggsThis case is great Since---7/2009

Pros: This is a great case not sure what those others were talking about. Only issue i had what that the spacers inside the case used to separate the PSU-VIDEO and CPU would not fit with the Board i chose. I still have all original fans- runs 24Hrs a day and 7 days a weeks. Not loud...And its not about CFMs any more you want to have consistent airflow not just a loud mess of fast moving fans..Also love the Cable management on the rear side of the Motherboard tray-Very niice Tt...I have now since Upgraded from the MSI K9N2 Diamond/Phenomx4 940/8GBOCZ reaperHPC/XFX GTX260 BE(216 Core) ----Now i have the Fx-8150/32GB Mushkin Blackline1866MHz/HD6950-2GB/ASUS Sabretooth-990fx---case/fans still running like brand new.

Cons: Not really a con, but the thing with the Spacers kinda suckked but oh well. :D

Other Thoughts: lol at the guy that the got the 3000RPM fan and 130CFM then he bought a fan controller to quiet them down....Does he not know he is slowing them down and reducing the RPMs and CFMs.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful case

Pros: Solid inner chassis

Cons: - Side window handle broke off
- Cheap plastic used everywhere
- Hard drive bays won't stay locked into place
- Cheap plastic parts used for hard drive holders broke
- USB ports on the front I/O are completely lose/broken off. When removing a USB device the front I/O (female port) comes off attached with it.

Other Thoughts: I'll never buy a thermaltake product again. They just don't make quality products anymore while charging a premium.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsWasted potential

Pros: Since Newegg no longer carries the non-Advanced version I have to put my review here for the Spedo base package.

It's constructed of steel which means it can withstand a lot of weight, not that you would want to sit on it or anything. There's also lots of room. Cable management is nice, I love that I can attach an additional fan to the back of the motherboard. The fan bar is great for cooling specific spots inside the case.

Cons: Weakest fans I've ever encountered; lousy CFM output. It was like 15CFM which you could barely feel. I was regularly cleaning my fan to keep dust from building up on them and I snapped a blade on both fans, had to replace them with Scythe Ultra-Kaze 3000RPM 133CFM fans. I bought a fan controller with them so noise is not a problem.

Door handle quit working out-of-the-box, on like the second week of owning it, Just the other day though it finally broke completely, the little teeth that pull the latch back broke.

Front 140mm Fan seized up the same day the door handle stopped working. Gee what a coincidence.

One of the nubs that hold the HD into the HD tray snapped off way to easy just putting the drive in it.

The PCI retention clips don't work with new Video hardware nor the new sound cards that have a shroud on them. The shroud prevents them from closing meaning I have tabs that are hanging open on the back of the case making it look ugly.

Other Thoughts: Another thing that irked me about the base version of this case was the lack of the top 200mm fan and the fact that at the time Thermaltake would not sell the 200mm fan for the Spedo off their site which made it next to impossible to find one.

And here's another one that really disappointed me, most motherboards these days the front panel power light requires a 3 pin connector, Thermaltake ships all of their cases with 2 pin leads. That's inexcusable.

Thermaltake my friends, this case had potential to be great but you dropped the ball. Wimpy cheap plastic fans, shoddy workmanship. Outdated and poorly thought out features mar what could have been a case I would have been proud to own. Please do your research on current hardware before releasing a case with PCI retention clips and also don't strip essential features from the base design just to sell a mediocre "Advanced" package.

My Regards,
F. Bancroft

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: Great case! I love the compartments that allow you to separate the CPU, Video Card, and the PSU. There are also a lot of fans that are included and still have places for more fans if required. The connection tab for the huge side fan is a nice touch so you do not have to remove a molex adapter if you remove the side panel.

Cons: It is heavy...I do not move it much.

The front panel did not seat well so I had to utilize spacers to ensure the panel quick remove pins sat firmly in the pockets.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this full tower case

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: Lots of Fans keeps the Case cool. The case also has compartments that allow you to isolate the HDDs, video card, CPU, and power supply so you can customize the air flow.

Cons: The power light lead (3 pin connector) did not fit my MOBO (req a 2 pin connector) and their was no adapter.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a great full tower case...GET THIS ONE!

3 out of 5 eggsI Wouldn't Buy It Again

Pros: Sturdy
Plenty of room
Supplied fans move more air than a hurricane

Cons: Very heavy--Might be a problem for some people
Price could be more competitive.
I wouldn't buy or recommend this case. Better alternatives available from brand-name vendors.

Other Thoughts: The door handle is flimsy. The door was always difficult to open and eventually the plastic tabs that keep the door closed broke. Wasn't a really problem until I tried to get it fixed under warranty. Would have had to send the entire case back to get new plastic handle for the door. Obviously that wasn't practical. I couldn't even send just the door back. I encountered the sort of customer service/tech support people who can't think for themselves. All I got back were pre-formulated responses where it was clear no one was actually reading and understanding my emails. The company's return policies and conditions for warranty repair read like they were written by an entire law firm. This company clearly doesn't want to stand by it's products--they make it to hard to get what you paid for.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Malex,
Thermaltake always will replace just the part if just a part is replacable. This information is on step #6 of RMA instruction email.
Best regards,

5 out of 5 eggsNice Case: CPU Cooler fit warning

Pros: This is a giant case with plenty of room for all your toys. The stock cooling fans are gigantic, and everything stays cool. My number won't mean much since I'm running only a mild overclock. The top IO panel is handy if you floor-mount your case like I did. The panel is exactly at hip level when I'm sitting, which makes access to the ports easy. The case is aesthetically very cool if you like the postmodern styling, and looks ominous in the dark with its red glowing HDD fan.

Cons: Not as much con as warning:
The "V8" cooling fan did NOT fit right with the case as-is. The window cooling fan contacts the V8 cooler and causes the fan to clip the window. To resolve this, I place rubber rings as spacers on the window fan's mounting screws, which gives the fan enough clearance from the window that it doesn't hit. The only other solution is to remove the window fan.

Other Thoughts: If you're patient, the Cable Management is pretty neat. I'm not patient. Also, the movable bracket fan is theoretically useful but I'm not sure to what extent. All it's doing is moving air around inside the case, which should be accomplished efficiently by the case's ventilation configuration. I can't use it really because there's no where for it to go in my configuration.

4 out of 5 eggsI love it, but.....

Pros: It's got plenty of space to work with. I can, of course, fit as many drives as I need, where I need them.

Not to mention that it's a solid case. Most plastic parts i've seen in computers are flimsy. This case, however, has few plastic parts to begin with; but any plastic it does have is solid.

Also, the fans it comes with are decently quiet.

Cons: There are some down-sides.
If I ever decided to add water cooling to my rig, i'm going to have to do some fancy work to get the radiator to fit; or take apart the top cover - there isn't much space around the upper area of the case.

Also, the rear clips for the PCI slots are a little annoying. since my GTX470 takes up 2 PCI slots, I cant clip in the second one plastic clip attached to the case.

Other Thoughts: Even though i'm thinking of getting water cooling, air flow with this case is actually pretty efficient.
It would have been nice if it came with a few slot covers too

5 out of 5 eggsGood Case!!

Pros: Cable Management is made REALLY easy with this case. I can honestly say that has got to be the best thing going for it.

The ATC 3 honestly doesnt help with my temps all that much, 3 months of monitoring with and 3 months of monitoring without. It does make the inside of the case look nice though. Currently I only have the bottom cover and the side cover for the PSU installed as I am hiding cables under it. Other than that, the other pieces are in the closet.

This case moves a TON of air when all of the fan spots are full, but can be very noisy. The dust filters in the front of the case work ok, but I replaced them with AC filter material that I got at Home Depot and has even further reduced the dust in the case.

Cons: Stock dust filters dont catch all that much dust. The very top piece of the ATC sometimes gets stuck (the one above the GPU slots) and a small screw driver is needed to persuade it to pop out. The screw less design is nice, but I have removed the HDD trays and have put my own HDD mounting in there, mostly for vibration.

Have to take the MB out to replace or remove the fan behind the MB.

Other Thoughts: Very nice case, its huge so make sure you have room for it. There is tons of ways to mod this case to suit your needs, and I definitely recommend installing the CPU cooler fan to draw air INTO the case against the backside of the MB rather than exhausting it. My temps decreased 4C when I did this.
