5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: Great cooling ability
Amazing cable management
Handy HDD/SSD trays
Great build quality yet lightweight
Overall A+ case

Cons: Is now discontinued...
Rear fan looks cheap
Only comes with 2 fans
Key for HDD/SSD tray locks is in a horrible location; once you install a good mobo with big heatsink you can't unscrew the screw holding the clip holding the key. (not a big deal for me though)
The newer model comes with a window on the door

Other Thoughts: Buy a 200mm fan for the top and you'll be good to go.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints

Pros: Lots of room for larger aftermarket cooling, large graphics cards and the like. Seems to vent and cool well.

Plenty of room for cable routing for me, plenty of tie downs. Grommets are of good quality and much appreciated, especially when many more expensive cases come w/o.

Quiet case. I've two spinners (for storage) and nine fans (including psu, graphics and 2 cpu fans) and can hardly hear a peep from 3-4 feet away.

Cons: Someone mentioned the pwr led "pierces the soul" LOL... it does ! Funny.

Depending on your board, one may need an 8 pin ATX pwr extension if running behind the MB tray.

You will need a SATA pwr extension. The SATA BP cables are only rated for SATA 3.0 gps. I'm sure many are aware of the realities of SATA HDD speeds, no big deal.

"Toolless" design on 5 1/2s seems a bit janky, nothing new under the sun. Dropped a screw in the other side to better secure opticals, life's tough.

I can foresee issues with the "hot swap" HDD feature if one is frequently swapping drives. Not an issue for myself.

Other Thoughts: Watch the sales. $49.99 with rebate when I made my choice. Contrary to a few, my rebate sailed through on the PM breeze. Read the instructions BEFORE you purchase on any rebate offer.

Overall, a decent case with good, usable features at its price range on Newegg.

Simply, it's a computer case. I wasn't expecting Barbara Eden in a bottle.

I'd recommend this case to others, especially when it dips below 3 digits.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Case for the Price

Pros: Toolless design, good cable routing, easy swap out HDDs, good fans & ventilation. Overall, at the price I bought this case it is good design and if there is no issue with the rebate it is a great value.

On the case I received, the metalwork was flawless: no mismatched panels that are hard to put on. Excepting the Corsair 600T build, every metal panel case I have built with has some issue with the side panel fit. Warping makes it hard to seal the case panels.

This case has good airflow.

This case has a well designed back panel for cable management. I still use non modular PSUs in many builds.

The reason for loss of an egg is that the hot swap cases and housing seems a bit flimsy. I don't buy into the criticism that the design is faulty, but don't have anyone try to remove a hot swap drive if the drives are locked. Forcing the case will break the housing.

Cons: The hot swap bays are not real sturdy. The plastic used is OK, but they may not be good for the long haul.
Thermaltake is well advised to offer to sell replacements.

Other Thoughts: Nice case overall. One of the best designs in a economy case. The MRSP is high. At $50 this case is a bargain, at $75 it is Pricey, over $75 it is a bad buy.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

Pros: Very roomy. Enough space to include a big GPU and also enough space to route ALL your cables in the back. My build looks beautiful because of this. Hot swaps are cool as well. I thought that the headphone holder was a bit gimmicky at first, but I end up using it quite often. Plenty of spots to mount fans which is always a plus. Simple looking and a beautiful case overall.

Cons: Some of the hot swap bays may not work. So far I've encountered that bay 1 does not work for myself and bay 3 seems to only work for half the time. I tried contacting thermaltake and they gave me a pretty generic email saying that the problems were probably on my end and not the actual productions fault. Also I wish their was a couple of more hardrive mounts internally. The one other con that I could think of is that sometimes the side panels are a bit of a pain to get on.

Other Thoughts: If you can get this case for a good price, get it. Would recommend. I would test everything first to see if it works properly, and if it doesn't, I would contact both newegg and thermaltake instead of making the same mistake as me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case, even for a 1st timer

Pros: I am generally knowledgeable about tech, especially when it comes to A/V. I decided to build my first PC for gaming, and I bought this case for a few reasons. First, the price. And Second, I saw that it had plastic grommets to feed cables through. I knew I wanted something like that, because I did not want to potentially strip or damage any cables.

Well while building my PC I discovered so many things that I love about this case. I cannot imagine a better case for my needs. Here is a list of all the great things.

-The plastic grommets inside the case on the mobo panel is nice to feed cables through.
-Enough room on back side of mobo panel to hide cables.
-Just the two fans provides lots of air flow.
-Lots of filters.
-Filter on the bottom, great for power supply.
-Front fan cools the HDD that I have installed.
-Big enough to allow room for my CPU heatsink and fan.
-Vents above for extra fans.
-Vent on side panel for fan.
-I love the USB 3.0 header that is provided to install directly onto the mobo. I have seen reviews about other cases that only provide extenders that feed to the back of the case. This makes for more USB 3.0 slots.
-Side panels easily come off and back on.
-I like the headphone older, great for storing my headphones.

Cons: The only thing that I can mention is that they paint easily scratches. I had to flip my power supply after installing initially. When I took out the screws to do this, the paint had been stripped away. Doesn't really matter, but just have to be careful on the parts of the case that are visible.

Also, the instructions are very basic. But I am a first time PC builder, and I easily figured it out.

Other Thoughts: Love this case. I was really worried while building my PC, because I later found out that my mobo was a special type ATX Form. The case advertises itself to support ATX and Micro ATX, but it all worked just fine. Just had to map out the mointing holes on my mobo, and compare that to the case and adjust. This facter was as a result of the mobo that I used, and not of the case. In fact, it is another benefit of the case, because the case worked just fine.

2 out of 5 eggsExcellent case - rebate company is dishonest

Pros: Excellent case - I love the extra width and popout side and the drive cages with SATA back place is awesome. Great fan mount points for extra large 140+ fans. Nice grills and filters all over. Good amount of included hardware. Toolless items work well. Excellent quality finish inside and out.

Would be 5 stars if not for clearly dishonest rebate company making hassles for no legitimate reason.

Cons: Rebate company is indeed scamming folks by denying for obvious reasons (no date, etc...). I do rebates all the time (typically $100's of dollars out at any given time - with a detailed process so that I get them *every* time. So I can honestly say this is one of the worst experiences.

ThermalTake DO NOT WHINE about the Rebate company - everyone uses them - get a Rebate company that matches your quality of product and delights customers rather than than detracting from your image. Shame on 4myrebate.com - get rid of them or get them to DO IT RIGHT!

Other Thoughts: This is the first time I have felt compelled to complain about a rebate but when they deny you twice (after sending in info - keep copies of all - with all needed items - stating they cannot find the date) - U know that this is just the rebate company playing games...

ThermalTake - take care of this or you will be losing customers...

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case

Pros: I've built tons of computers and this is the first case that has the grommets/openings around the motherboard and cable management space behind the motherboard. It seems like a lot more cases are incorporating this, but I love it. It hides so many cables and keeps the case so neat. It also helps with airflow.

The hot-swap bays are a godsend as well. Being a computer tech, I plug in hard drives all the time. I have a USB hard drive dock, but sometimes the drives need to be hooked up internally for a while. I love how they have mounting holes for an SSD and 2.5" drives as well. The power connectors are linked with a cable so you just need 1 sata plug from your power supply to power all 4 drives. I watched the drives plug in from the right side of the case and they make a great connection for me. The connectors give me no problems whatsoever and I've plugged in several drives. Everything lines right up perfectly. I'll touch on the cons regarding the hot-swap bays below.

2 USB 3.0 ports on the front with a proper motherboard header plug, no a silly pass-through cable that you have to plug in back of your motherboard outside your case.

Dust filters all over the place.

I like how each card slot in the back has its own thumb screw, then another bracket lays on top for more support with its own thumb screw.

Fans with 3 pin motherboard connectors (not molex), and fan cables have nice tubing around the wires.

The case came with motherboard standoffs that my ATX motherboard mounted right on to which helped with the install (be sure to check where the mounting points on your board are before you install it).

Lots of ventilation and several mounting points for different sized fans.

Cons: The single biggest gripe I have with this case has to do with the rise in my hard drive temperatures. One of my main drives are a Western Digital Black and it was sitting in front of a 120mm fan in my old case. I consistently had temps of around 32-34 deg. With this case, this drive now has consistent temps in the 39-42 deg range. I think the main reason is because of the hot-swap tray the drive sits in. There's too much plastic around the drive restricting airflow. While these are still safe temps, I might mod the trays a bit to let more air flow through them. While I do agree that the quick release system is a little cheap, it's not terrible. As long as you're somewhat gentle and know how to operate it, it's not that bad. It has a locking system with a key, but I wouldn't trust it for theft protection... I'd say it's more of a system to lock your drives in so they don't accidentally get pulled out when you're computer is on. It's just not as sturdy of a system for theft protection. Also when you're pulling a drive tray out, sometimes it does get stuck a little and doesn't pull out. If that happens, just keep the release button held down on the front of the case, push the drive tray in a little, then it should pull right out. It's only happened a couple times and really hasn't caused me any frustration.

If you take off the front bezel of the case, you'll see another 3.5" drive bay that's right about the top hot-swap bay. This drive tray slides out towards the front, but the big fan is right in front of it. You literally have to take the fan off to get access to this bay. Very, very stupid and poor design. I was going to put my SSD in this slot to free up a hot-swap bay, but it wasn't worth the trouble of taking the fan off. If I ever needed to swap the SSD for any reason, I didn't want to have to go through the same trouble getting it out. Not a huge deal for a drive that will stay put for a while, but I'm constantly swapping drives, upgrading, etc.

With how many things I like about this case and the price I got it for, these cons are not enough to lower the overall rating.

Other Thoughts: Blocking access to the front drive bay is just silly, but at the same time, sitting behind the fan does give it some airflow. If that was the thought, then it would be really nice to have some kind of quick-release system for the fan. It's just a pain as is, but something that just adds a few more minutes to the drive install/removal.

Thermaltake should definitely address the airflow of the plastic hot-swap trays. Maybe add some ventilation holes, etc. Their name even has the word thermal in it! It's just funny that my old cheap case cooled my drives better than this does. I do have the front fan spinning at a decent RPM as well.

-It would have been nice to get at least one extra fan as I'm starting to see other manufactures include 3 or more fans at the same price point.
-Although I like how easy it is to take off the 5.25" drive covers, I wish the tabs didn't stick out so much.
-The left side panel can be a pain to put on as there's a bit of flex to it. You almost have to lay your arm across it to make sure all the tabs go in when you're sliding it on (at least on mine).
-The headphone holder on the left side is nice, but I won't be using it.
-As far as hot-swap connectors go, I think you'll have to use 90 degree sata cables (doesn't come with any sata cables). I had a bunch of extras laying around. I plugged in a straight sata cable and it didn't look like it was going to fit when the side cover was put back on. If they did fit, there would be a lot of stress on the cables/connectors. Maybe that why some are breaking.
-The case is wider than most due to the hard drive orientation and cable management on the right side.
-The paint scratches easily. My screwdriver barely slipped when I was installing a card reader in the front open 3.5" bay. Now I have a nice long silver scratch near the mounting holes inside (nothing a little sharpie can't touch up lol).

Yes it's not as nice as Thermaltake's ~$300 cases, but if you can get this for $50 after rebate and free shipping, there's not a whole lot to complain about. Despite my nit-picking, I am very happy with this case! I just wanted to point out all the small details.
