5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Case Overall

Pros: Huge case. Fits everything no issues. Also looks really, really nice. The pictures don't do it justice at all. It's not as costly as some cases I've owned over the years, and maybe not as thick and heavy as others. However, that doesn't mean it's quality is any less. It's really an enjoyable case to own.

Removable drive cages allow a lot of extra room and airflow. They're also very easy to install drives into, including SSD drives. Great system, and I loved the drive cage in my Gigabyte case, but these are even better.

Cable management is pretty easy. There's a good bit of room in the back, and the back door protrudes out, so it gives a lot of room for dealing with cables out of sight.

The fans move a lot of air and everything stays really cool inside it. It's pretty quiet for all the fans.

I wasn't a major fan of the idea to put my psu on the bottom of the case, but it's actually really good. Your psu is basically isolated from the case this way. Rather than drawing hot air out of the case, and through the psu, it's pulling cold air from underneath through the psu, and out of the back. This way it doesn't affect anything inside at all.

Having the standoffs for ATX mobo already in place is great. After many builds over 15 years, fiddling with standoffs is one thing I am never looking forward to.

Dust filters are great. Lots of them Big plus. Mesh case looks better than you think in person, and cools real well.

Case comes with blocks for all of the power pins, so you just put them on the block and slip it on the mobo. No fumbling with tiny wires inside a dark case trying to get them onto individual pins.

The thumbscrews for the doors stay in the doors. This is sooooo good. Very glad to see this feature. I hate fumbling with the screws on case doors, these are as easy to use as it gets.

Cons: There is not really room for another 200 mm fan in the top. The upper drive cage houses the power/reset/fan controller buttons, and partially blocks one of the 200mm fan spaces. It would fit, but you can't get the screws into it.

Having the 200mm fans in the top is pretty pointless once you install a radiator and fans up top. Due to the design of the Corsair H110 I had to put the fans pulling up through the radiator, because there is not really any other practical way to install it.

That is not a con of the case per se, but the combination of the two things. It still cools extremely well and works out just fine, but I thought I'd mention it. You can have the 200mm in the top with the radiator installed, and it doesn't seem to affect the cooling or static pressure of the fan below it.

Having audio jacks on top of the case puts strain on the jacks and your cables, IMO. I would rather they came out of the front.

Removing the front panel is a pain because the slot to grab and pull it is under the front. You have to pull the front over the edge of the desk to grab the panel and pull it off. This isn't a con, just something to know. It sits flush on the desk, no room to put a hand under the front and grab it, but you won't be taking that panel off every day anyway.

Other Thoughts: This case made for a fun build. Nothing really frustrating, easily configurable to your taste. Easy to make a clean install without a huge mess of cables or anything else. Quality product, not junk. This is a case that will last you years and years of service, and look very nice doing it. It's well built and well thought out for the most part. It's also well worth the price, and once you see it you'll be in love.

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Core V71

Pros: Absolutely love this case. It is a bit large, but that is what I liked about it. The blue LED fans looks terrific and the huge side window is phenomenal. PLENTY of room for my 280mm radiator and had room to remount the pre-installed 200mm top exhaust fan. There is just so much room inside this case!

Cons: Not a con, but a forewarning. If you plan on using the Corsair H110 280mm radiator you will have to make a few of your own mounting places. Not hard to do, but just aggravating. I had already read that that particular cooling system would probably need custom mounting.

Other Thoughts: Side doors remove super easy. The thumb screws that hold the storage docks, not so much. Probably need a screw driver to loosen them the first time. No side panel bulge after cable management. Just an outstanding case in my humble opinion. This being my first build and looking back, I would definitely choose this case again.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: I love this case, the removable hard drive cages allow extra room if you need it or just want more space for a better air flow. The case should be plenty big enough as it is. It really isn't super expensive for the quality, it's mostly steel with plastic on the front and top. The removable dust filters on all sides are nice for keeping everything clean. The 200mm fans all work fine for me and the fan controller works as well. All of my front/top panel plugs and jacks work. This is just a really really nice case. I actually only feel cool or slightly warm air coming from the exhaust with my 7 case fans! Temps are so much lower than my old case. My 8350 used to hit 65-70 under heavy loads, but now I hit 65 max under load and I overclocked my CPU. Same Zalman cooler in both cases.

Cons: The rear turbo fan that came with the case is having issues maintaining a constant RPM. I will probably end up having to replace it eventually.

Other Thoughts: I did have to do some moving around with the psu mount and my bottom 2 120mm fans to get them to fit comfortably, so just be ready to mess with that if you want more fans.

3 out of 5 eggsBig case

Pros: Case is huge, and looks great. The included 240mm fans are very quiet, move a lot of air, and the LEDs can be turned off. I was able to mount the radiator and radiator fans from my 240mm Nepton on the top easily, but I had to remove the top 240mm fan to do so.

Underneath the case is vented, and all the vents except the back have filters.

Plenty of space.

It also has a good printed instruction manual, it was easy to figure out what connected to what.

Cons: First one arrived in a pristine box, and 3 of the 4 front panel connectors were broken. After being sent back, the replacement has a misaligned back leg that is not even with the other 3, it is impacted and rides over the metal bottom rack of the case. Both times the threaded inserts that the panel screws on the back supposedly fit in to would not connect cleanly, and would sometimes only barely screw in, and then come out on their own. The lower 5.25 bay connection is made with plastic clips, and they will move the whole thing every time you touch the button on your dvd drive. Would not be ideal for a smart card reader or removable drive bay.

Other Thoughts: The problems aren't terrible, and the fans are nice. The top 5.25 bay is stable. Included some extra screws.

1 out of 5 eggsNo screw!

Pros: Very big. Lots of drive bays

Cons: No screw for mother board connection. I had to asking my friends for their extra screws. I have built 4 PCs before and every case that I bought has screws (a lot of screws) come with it for mother board connection. This one has none!

Other Thoughts: It's spacious, but the parts look very cheap. I'm sure it made from China.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The Core V71 should have included 20 motherboard screws inside of the accessory pack. If the accessory pack or just the screws were missing, you can contact Customer Service to have the replaced/provided. Please double check the manual to ensure all of the accessories were provided.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Absolutely beautiful. Feels solid and sturdy. Not a cheap look or feel to it

Cons: It's so big! But it's a full tower so that's expected.

5 out of 5 eggsNice sizable case.

Pros: This case is huge.
Very spacious with good cable management.
The included dust filters are a great addition.
No problem fitting Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.
Lights can be turned off.
Like how the HD drive trays are designed with removable clips when installing a drive.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of offhand that would be a con against purchasing this case.

Other Thoughts: Windowed side. If it had came in a model with solid siding would have purchased that instead.

Large as this case is, was a tight squeeze fitting SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100363VX-3L card without removing drive cages.

Would have been nice if hardware screws where sorted into smaller packages instead of jumbled all together.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Case for an Enclosed Water Cooler Setup

Pros: Has two 200mm intake fans in the front and one 200mm exhaust on top plus a 140mm exhaust in rear. My Coolmaster Nepton 240M radiator easily fit underneath the top of the case with no extra tools or retrofitting. I have it sitting in push/pull configuration with the 200mm exhaust fan on top. Fans are incredibly quiet even on the high setting. I'm running an Intel I7 4790 processor at 4.5 and even under heavy load in FSX flight simulator I can't feel any significant heat due to the water cooling and fan setup.

Also has lots of well placed rubber grommets to feed your cables through (even underneath the motherboard) to keep them out of sight and not inferring with the airflow.

There are 8 modular snap in and out toolless drive bays for either 5.25 or 3.5 hard or ssd drives. I'm using just 2 so I removed and stored the other 6 to improve air flow. Also has 3 easily removable lint filters (top, front, and bottom).

Besides all of the above this case is really cool looking with it's see-through side and blue LED fan lights!

Cons: Only con is that the LED fan lighting switch at the top of the case stopped working (can no longer turn them off). Not a big deal for me as I like them on.

Other Thoughts: This is a big spacious case that is ideal for a water cooling solution for overclocked high end processors or multiple graphic cards with excellent built-in air flow with the stock fans. Can accommodate multiple radiators or additional fans if necessary.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsNice Case

Pros: Lots of room for any kind of build. Well thought out for water cooling. Like the modular bays and the ability to customize your drive layout. Airflow is pretty good. When shipped, no scratches, dents, or dings. Very good cable management capability.

Cons: Power button LED burnt out in the first three weeks I got it. But if that's the only thing I can complain about, well.... not much of a complaint. I'm going to replace it with a red one anyway.

Other Thoughts: I think Thermaltake did a great job with this case. It was designed with the enthusiast in mind and you can get as creative as you want with your build. I also think you get a good value for the price when comparing other cases in either that price range or even more expensive cases.
