4 out of 5 eggsForm over function....

Pros: Nice looking - kind of a retro hotrod look to it enhanced by the analog gauges.
Plenty of room.
Variable fan speed controller at front lets me run the front fans I installed at 50% to 100%.

Cons: Poor air circulation due to small holes punched for fans.
Older style case with "funnel" for CPU cooling intake.
Came with only (2) 80mm blue LED fans - top and rear.
Front audio connection (AC '97 only) doesn't work with my Gigabyte GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H's audio header.

Other Thoughts: I threw away the CPU cooling "funnel" and replaced it with a red/blue LED intake fan. Moved the 2 blue LED fans to the front for better intake (holes provided), Put another red/blue LED exhaust fan in the top, installed a 120mm exhaust fan at the rear (hole again provided), and topped the cpu with a Scythe Katana 3 cooler. Inside case temps idle at 35C and can reach 50C with heavy load, but components stay within spec if I leave the front door open. I'm still awarding 4 eggs because I bought it for it's unique looks, mods were very easy, and it is real eye candy!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Case was alot more sturdy than i was anticipating.
the dual fan slots on the front of the case is a great design.
gauges and lighting works perfect.

Cons: My Apevia power supply didn't fit into the case because of the rail running along the top of the case. Major flaw!!
Also the front door on the enclosure is flimsy and a cheap plastic

Other Thoughts: great case for the price, recommended for first timers.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It

Pros: Love the color but was hoping for a little more orange hue like the pic. I call it a rusty-red color. Lots of room. Added 120mm fan and two 80mm fans for extra cooling and does the job. MB, PS and all other parts including HD4850 fit with no issues. Had all needed mounts/screws/etc. Overall, fun case that was easy to work with.

Cons: The metal is thin but I expected that. Not a case that you want to make a portable LAN party rig with.

5 out of 5 eggsApevia X-Cruiser

Pros: I love this case!!! Plenty of room. Will handle a regular size atx board comfortably or a matx just fine! Held my 750 watt psu just fine as well! Plenty of room for my 9600 graphics card as well! Plenty of hard drive slots and enough slots for cd/dvd drive/card reader/floppy drive! Cannot complain! Not too heavy a case and supports everything very well! I also love the lights and meters! A big plus!!! Also the fact that it has fans that the speeds are controlled; a great option!

Cons: The only cons that i can think of is that a good manual for the led lights and meters would have been a plus for me considering i had never hooked up those kind of fan speed controls and door panel lights or meters before; seeing they are only oriented to this type case! And I wish the fans were not the small ones; especially the one on the back! The top one is okay considering room needed for the power supply; but better rear ventilation would have really done this case justice (although i will latter add a bigger fan on the back) as there is not a lot to not like about it!

Other Thoughts: I really do love these cases as i bought two of them (different colors); one for me and one for my son! Both have worked out great! I was a little apprehensive at first because i had got hold of a cheap aluminum case a few yrs back and everything rattled and screw holes stripped out easily! This case fooled me! It seemed lightweight; but after the built it feels as solid as any that i have ever used and does not have a lot of weight (tank-heavy) to deal with! A very great price and yes; i would not hesitate buying more of these! Definately worthy of five *Eggs*!!! I did have to modify the side panel air shoots because of using aftermarket cpu heatsinks/coolers; to be expected! I've heard it said and now i say it; NewEgg Rocks!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful!!!

Pros: - Absolutely beautiful!! It's just the color I was looking for.
- The gauges on the front are easy to read.
- Fans are super quiet!
- Plenty of space to work with for a mid tower
- Good ventilation

Cons: - The piece that the mobo attaches to is kinda flimsy.
- No instructions at all. A few diagrams or parts list would have been nice.
- The covers over the additional PCI slots on the back are hard to get off. I bent the frame a little trying to get a few to come off, but it just bends right back.
- The HDD slots are just barely too close to the front to use the back screw holes on my hard drives, so I had to use the front screw holes, causing the hard drives to stick back into the case further than I'd like. If that didn't make sense, don't worry about it. Not a major issue.

Other Thoughts: As others have said, THIS CASE IS NOT RED!!! It's a coppery-rust color. I knew that before I bought it and it was just the color I wanted, so I'm happy.
And some have complained that the wires for the front panel aren't long enough. I didn't experience this problem at all. It might just be jumper locations on their mobos.

5 out of 5 eggsSnazzy!

Pros: Lots of room. Drop dead sexy. Two strong fans that run very quietly.

As others have said, it's a rust-red tending toward orange. I knew that ahead of time, so it's perfect.

Cons: Photos for this series are all a little off in terms of color. There's no documentation with the case. Given the connectors and wiring built into the case, some kind of write-up would be nice. We figured it out, though.

Mine arrived just a little scuffed up. The exterior is okay, but the screws on the backside of the front door scratched the right side of the front panel. I see the screws are magnetic, so they're intended to make contact and hold the door closed. They have a rough finish, and in shipping they rubbed the paint off in 3 spots. A little packing material in between would've prevented that. Apevia's customer service was dismal when I brought it to their attention. The first email response was rude. When I complained again, I got a slightly better written response but still no help.

Other Thoughts: Great case. Don't expect customer service or support, but then it is just a box for putting stuff in. How much support do you really need?

Manufacturer Response:

Our warranty does not cover shipping damage. It is recommended that you claim damage with the shipping company. Below is a link to the online version of the user’s manual.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

Pros: Runs cool and quiet, looks very snazzy.

Cons: The side panel can sometimes be a little hard to fit back onto the case, but that's hardly a reason to shy away from this fantastic case.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: Excellent case...have built several computers for clients using this case...allows for good air flow and ample space for large video cards...one thing, if you have a large 1000 watt power supply, your going to have to remove the top fan, other than that, its a great case for the price. Everyone loves the look, especially with the blue LED fan lights...

Cons: Other than the 1000 watt power supply issues, none!!!

4 out of 5 eggsStill turns heads

Pros: Even though the case has been around several years, it still gets looks great. The round dials are actually making a bit of a comeback in some design circles. Not streamline or steampunk, but reminds me of both. Nice inside also.

Cons: Getting a bit outdated. The AC97 audio plug is being phased out in the motherboards in favor of the HD, as was mine, and so the front audio panel is no good. The system speaker wire is too short, so the module included is necessary. Not really red. More of a rust color. want farrari red, look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad little box. a bit disappointed that there is no apparent workaround for the ac97 issue. But the color and the price were right.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Case

Pros: It looks awesome.
It has plenty of space for your hardware.
It has 5 spots to place fans
It comes with a fan controller.
I've had it for almost 2 years and it's survived through 2 moves without any damage/issues.

Cons: It has the older inward facing HD dock, the newer cases have ones that face toward the slide door so it's easy to adjust.

Other Thoughts: The blue lights are a bit annoying to me but they can be turned off if you unplug the right cords. Overall it's a great case.
