3 out of 5 eggsUsable

Pros: Looks good and feels sturdy.

Cons: Hard Drive light does not work, poor airflow, only one of the 3 fans have LEDs, front panel pops off way to easy, tons of sharp edges inside, and no provisions at all for wire maintenance.

Other Thoughts: I have used X-Dreamer cases since the original and while none were perfect they all were decent for the cost. Most were in the $40-$50 range including s/h.

But for the $70 shipped I paid for the X-Dreamer 3 there are much MUCH better cases out there.
The bottom line is the look is what the client I was building the PC for wanted so that's why I bought it.

If there is ever a sale where the $15 s/h is reduced or even free then it would be a OK case for the price.

3 out of 5 eggsNot too great with Cooling

Pros: It looks good and evverything, stylish.

Cons: Do not buy this, I tested it at a local cyber cafe here in town and the temps are bad.

I don't meant to bash on the product but the fan assortment is bad, you could put up to 6 fans in this case and it will still overheat.

4 out of 5 eggsNice case

Pros: Very sexy case, nice and the fans are nice looking too, not bad, good for a mid size.

Cons: A little tight, had some trouble getting my CPU fan in with the mobo inside the case. Also the bays are kind of tight, kinda scrapped up my HDD when I slid it in, but not a real problem. The right side of the case is lifted in parts which made it very hard to screw in the mobo, I ended up only being able to screw in 3 out of 5 holes, which made me very uncomfortable but its still stable enough. Because of the tightness and the ridges, I cant give this 5/5, but it gets a good 4/5.

Other Thoughts: Cut my thumb trying to put in the IO shield, not the cases fault, just a warning.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Little bit bigger than other Mid cases I've owned, which is a good thing. Temperature monitor is nice, and I don't see why people complain about the green ring in the front. It's green and looks nice. Everything reaches the mobo just fine.

Cons: Not a full tower, but this is also cheaper than the cheapest full tower on Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Great case that looks nice, and comes in a variety of colors. May even buy a pink one for the GF soon.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Decent amount of space, sleek design.

Cons: When screwing my motherboard in the motherboard seems to short out somewhere, so I take out the screws it seems to work just fine.

Kind of disappointed that it only came with 1 fan that lights up, come on now though at least the back one could light up also.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great case, no problems with it at all. Some of these revewis these people are just to picky. Don't give it a bad egg rating because you modified it to look prettier for yourself. Everything functions as it should and there is plenty of room in there. The fans are SUPER quiet and they move the air around great keeping everything nice and cool.

Cons: none, it's prefect just the way it is

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to missed rebate

Pros: Rebate was taken care of quite quickly by Apevia sales support. Thank you.

This is a good, solid case that hit a nice price point for me. The system that it contains is on 24/7 and is kept quite cool by the fan placement. I have an older 8800 GTX card inside and it was a bit of a tight squeeze but not bad.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have since purchased a third Apevia case and would not hesitate to purchase a fourth (when the time comes)
This system:
Asus P5N-D
XFX 8800 GTX
Corsair 650 PSU
4 WD 500 GB drives
PATA DVD burner

I am impressed at how cool it keeps the system since the P5N-D is notorious for high temps.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Several slots (expansion and HD) for a low price. The temperature monitor is also and added plus. I was able to fit 6 HD drives, a decent video card (with fan) and all of my other added PCI(x) cards with no problems. Really a good case for such a low price.

Cons: As mentioned in the other reviews, wow, the metal in this case is sharp. After two cuts, this was truly a "Blood, sweat, and tears" battle (minus the tears of course).

Other Thoughts: The fans aren't as loud as some of the other reviews mention.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Rebate

Pros: Cheap

Cons: If your plan is to purchase anything from Apevia, just writeoff any claims to a rebate - it is marketing foo-foo.

Other Thoughts: Too bad. This was my second case from them.

Manufacturer Response:

Not all of our products come with a rebate. There was not one offered for the X-Dreamer 3 case in green. We honor the rebates that we do offer as long as we receive what we need to process the request. If there are any issues in regards to rebates please call our Rebate Department at (909)-718-0789 or e-mail at We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed (still)

Pros: -Roomy enough for the highest end video cards, although you may have to shift the location of your hard drive(s) so that the end of the drive doesn't block the end of the video card.

-Ventilation is adequate but verging on mediocre as the side fan aims below the average cpu location but above the video card. I finally drilled holes so the video card would be happier, looks even worse but it did lower the video card temp a few degrees.

-The temp display, which works via a tape-on sensor not a direct link, has a button on the back that switches it from F to C.

Cons: Same as previous review but with these additions:

-The green ring has black plastic around it from the back that blocks any light so simply adding an LED fan to the front won't cut it. You'll have to drill multiple holes to let the light in, or cut it away or do what I did and just forget it. The reason it so annoys me is because both the Apevia website and the very box it comes in clearly depict it, and the other colored ring models, as brightly lit up and there is no little *disclaimer saying it was photoshopped or modded. Maybe they will add one now that I have complained :P. None of the Newegg photos for any of the colored ring models show it lit up and there is no wire to plug in for that, it's not defective, it's just plain false advertising on Apevia's part. Points for Newegg though as all of their photos are accurate. :)

-The on/off switch is now getting iffy. Still works but sometimes I have to do it twice before it powers up.

-The USB ports are upside down.

Other Thoughts: I found a solution for the dust attraction to the shiny plastic. I rub it down with a used fabric softener sheet from the dryer. A new one leaves too much residue but a used one leaves just enough to reduce the charge so it doesn't suck up dust. The only worthwhile bits, like the ESATA port and the overall size accommodating large video cards, are easily found in better cases. Buy this one only if you really enjoy the color of bile and would like to see it displayed in a ring around a digital temperature gauge.
