4 out of 5 eggsGood case...fan connections not so much

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The Case is perfect for a pink person with the red clear side window and bright pink color.... It also comes with a good amount of fans and internal temp gauge you can put in the heat sink fins and displays on the front. that is good for someone (like my wife) that won't actively keep an eye on they're computer temperature.

Cons: The fan power connections were low quality and the pins were easily push out of the back... I personally drew back the pins, connected the sleeves, then manually pushed in each pin individually into place while holding the shelves together on at least 3 of the fan connections.

Other Thoughts: Since i'm use to working with computer parts the fan connections weren't really a problem for me but if you are uncomfortable you might want someone else to build your computer for you.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: It's quiet, and it's pink.

Cons: The SSD must be mounted on the bottom of the case. A second SSD would require a mounting bracket. Also, one of the front USB ports is tilted on my case.

3 out of 5 eggsLow Quality Case for the Price

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: There is a SATA hot swap bay and a temperature monitor.
Fans everywhere.

Cons: The plastic front plate is a different shade of pink as the metal chassis.
The plastic is very cheap; the level of cheap you would expect on a cheaper "throw away" case. If you have to remove the front faceplate, take great care not to crack the plastic connectors.
Things aren't lined up correctly, for example, the USB3 port on the front points diagonally down rather than parallel with the floor like 2 USB2 ports are; an example of rushed production and lack of quality control. The SATA hotswap port is also oriented at an odd angle.
All the fans were the old 4 pin molex connectors. I replaced the front and rear fans with the 3-pin KK style, for the ones provided had connectors so loose that when your tried to plug them in the pins would pop out the back; This was a real pain.
7 devices in this case used a molex power connector.
I don't really care all that much about this but it is very much an example of how Apevia went the cheap route, all metal pci slots are punch out.

Other Thoughts: This is my first experience with Apevia. I bought this case because my daughter said she wanted a pink case and there were two options; this was the "less boring looking". Everything about this case screams "cheap". It doesn't feel sturdy at all, it was a pain to assemble, and I felt like I was working on one of those "throw away" cases. If I could do it again, I would have bought an Antec 302 and spray painted it pink. I don't think this case was worth what they want for it and the quality is pretty low, so that's why I mark it low in my rating. My daughter didn't care though, she said it looks cool and is happy; all that matters to her is that it's pink and she can play Minecraft.

2 out of 5 eggsI wanna love this but...

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The color is awesome. The front panel lights and temp sensor are cool. It was pretty roomy inside for its form factor. The number of fans it comes with is very nice. I like the HDD bay though I wish it was on top and not the front.

Cons: Where do I begin?

First, my side panel fan's molex broke off from the chip on the fan. It looks like the solder came right off. Not too sure. I noticed it when my fiance handed me a molex cable that was just neatly bound up and laying inside the case. Not having a custom heat sink or anything I would like this fan to work. I am wondering if I am RMA the panel and or fan itself and not the entire thing.

Second, there were NOT enough screws to fit my MoBo and I only needed 6. I had to scrounge around from my person stash ot have enough. I was not happy with this. If this had been my first case or if I was new to this I would have been out of luck.

Other Thoughts: All the fans were molex and you can daisy chain them but it makes it a little harder to have good wire management. So if you get this case plan on taking a little effort to have a good set up. The cables were not too short but I felt they could have been and inch more generous with their cabling.

The temp monitor in the front is a super awesome feature and with the extra USB 3.0 and 2.0 in the front this makes a nice tower for a semi-gamer or someone who just wants a nice cute tower. I would recommend this but inform them that it could be a little faulty. If my issue with the fan gets fixed I will change my idea.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the case fan to get an exchange on it if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

5 out of 5 eggsNeat case

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Purchased this case for a build for my gf. She loved it based solely on the color and lights. i love it for the usb 3.0 front header, 5 fans (that run pretty quietly, considering there are 5 of them) and the sufficient amount of space / holes, that allow you to adequately run your cables behind the board and distribute them neatly. Also, all black interior with too-less drive bays, made installation that much easier.

Cons: Not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice to have had a slot for a PSU fan filter to slide into. You could attach one yourself, but a slot would have been more convenient.

Other Thoughts: Not a big deal, but my optical drive didn't snap in place, as it should, with the included latch-lock, so I used two of the screws from the bag of screws it came with, to pop it in. Honestly, not a big deal

4 out of 5 eggsIt's Pink! What's not to love?

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Incredibly unique!~ Good luck finding another pink case

It's Huge! Plenty of room instead.

Comes with 3 small fans and one large side fan on the red-plastic siding. Room for tons more. - I noticed many other reviewers mention the Molex quality. I personally did not find mine to be any worse quality then the Molex I've used in the past. My experience with Molex is it's always a little loose, but I had no issues wiring my case up.

Thermometer is a nice touch! Comes in F and thankfully C!

USB ports on front case located at top, not bottom. Maybe only a plus for me as my case sits on the ground and I struggled with my keyboard/mouse connections on my old case for that reason. Issue totally solved with this new one!

Cons: **The very first picture is VERY misleading** That is the reason it's not getting 5 eggs. If you compare it to the second picture you'll see what I mean.

It's not a shiny pink, it's a flat matte pink. The plastic accents are all a dark red, not pink. The plastic front of the case is an entirely different shade them the metal siding. It is noticeable in my opinion.

Not to say it looks bad. But had I bought it with only seeing the first picture alone I would have been very disappointed. I'm glad Newegg provides more accurate pictures unlike the other sites I found this case listed on. I honestly almost bought the Green/Black based on the discrepancy in the pictures.

Other Thoughts: In the end I am glad I bought the Pink instead of the Silver or Green/Black.

Despite it not having pink plastic and being as shiny as the first picture advertised, I'm still glad I bought the pink one.

3 out of 5 eggsGood case

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: One of the only pink cases. Useful heat sink temperature cable that has an LCD display on the front of the case.

Cons: Small for a mid-tower. Fit-and-Finish issues.

Other Thoughts: For a mid-tower case, the overall design needs a massive expansion update. The case panel with the 200mm fan does not fit with a large heat sink, which can be overlooked (just get a smaller one). But the part that bothered me was the fact that you can only install the HDD/SSD on one side. This is a monumental problem as I installed the Western Digital HDD, the case cannot close! The SATA cable fits just fine, but the cable to the power supply protrudes far past the frame of the case. Very frustrating...

Overall, for a $65 case, you can expect the age old adage of "You get what you pay for" to be true and that is what I wanted. However, the closure of both panels with all parts installed should be a guarantee. This is not the case with this model.

Manufacturer Response:

The hard drives actually install "backwards". The power plugs would be installed from the right-hand side instead of the left.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Easy motherboard installation, built in cable management, lots of fans, nice color for a computer build for my wife.

Cons: Flimsy side panels, loud fans, CD drive slots with doors do not fit the LG DVD burner drive I got for it so both bottom CD bays were useless and waste of space, no 3" by 5" bay support for card reader, rear ports for graphics cards and expansion cards are punch out and not replaceable.

Other Thoughts: Over all it's an okay design, I regret buying this tho and wish I had gone with a case that was a bit more solid design wise. I don't feel like I got what I paid for compared to other cases in the same price range. The color is the best feature of this case IMO.

3 out of 5 eggsApevia Did Not Try!

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Decent cable length, durable design. Unique appearance, easy to customize, pretty easy to assemble. Excellent ventilation. Neat temperature gauge. Cool bright LED fans. Supports all sorts of hardware, much universal. Wow.

Cons: Upon first inspection, I noticed that the PCI bay covers in the back are connected to the chassis and once you remove them once, you cannot put the covers back on. This could get annoying in the future, and if you plan on removing your GPU, sound card, etc. now you'll have to worry about dust getting into your system. Fitting the I/O shield on the case was a task and almost resulted in me breaking the shield. Also didn't like how the case didn't come with 2.5" HDD mounting capabilities (I had to order the enclosures seperately). If your motherboard has any front panel headers on the bottom left corner of the mobo (when mounted, right above the power supply), you'll run into cable length issues. I had to order an extension cable for the front panel HD audio because it was a few inches away from reaching. Once my entire computer was assembled and was ready to power on, I realized that the front panel power button was defective. I thought it was my motherboard's headers, but after reversing the connections with the reset and power buttons I could get the reset button to power the motherboard on just fine. When I did this, the power button did not reset the computer as it should have. Not only is this a real PITA, but it isn't what I would have expected out of this case.

Now I'm debating on whether it's worth it to disassemble everything and RMA the case with Apevia or to just suck it up and use the reset switch as the power button :/ Maybe if I choose to keep it, I'll try to repair the power button myself by removing the front panel and resoldering the button's connections. Meh.

Other Thoughts: I would give the case an extra egg if it wasn't defective out of the box; it's a shame because I really like the case and was interested in keeping it for my build. The cable issues can be worked around, but a defective power switch sort of drives me away.

Manufacturer Response:

There is one spot for a 2.5" hard drive, at the bottom under the 3.5" bays. You'll have to screw it to the bottom of the case, though. The user's manual should show how to do this.
For the cables, you can cut the tie holding them to the case body, which should lengthen them enough to reach the appropriate plugs on the motherboard.
For the power switch, you can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-PK Pink Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great case easy to install everything you need. very roomy
The kids loved it for xmas gift to pc build

Cons: The case came with the lcd display for the temp cracked so theres a big black blob on the front. minus one egg. still trying to see how to get a new display without returning the whole thing

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the temperature gauge to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.
