Is the first drive slot usable? I really don't like the pseudo-optical drive look or feel but a few reviews said the edges are too round to fit the drive in.

Yes, the first (top) 5.25 bay is usable. I installed the optical drive from the back, inside the case, as it was easier to do that way. A larger CPU cooler may obstruct this so be sure install the optical drive prior to CPU cooler mounting

WIll this fit ATX Form Factor? I want to put my MSI A88x-g45 mother board in it.

Yes it will, but, if you have any large heat sinks towards the top of your mobo, it may be a little tight with the top fans. I actually had to move my cd drive to the bottom bay because it wouldn't work with the top fans. It can be a pretty tight case.

will the nzxt kraken x60 280mm fit in this case?

I can't guarantee that, but I would say yes. I have a rather bulky CPU cooler (A scythe Katana 3) and there's no issue. If I were in your shoes, I'd go for it. This is a nice case for the price tag.

Can this case fit the MSI A88X-G45?

i can't see a reason why it shouldn't. i have a pretty big cooler master with heatsink. and it fits no problem.

Will the Nzxt M59 case fit a Gigabyte R9 270x 4gb Windforce video card?

I dont know. I dont know how long that card is. It will fit a pretty good size card, but, I dont think it can go over 10.5-11 inches. It looks like you could go up to 11" in mine, but, I would say 10.5" to be safe, because of the connectors. If they are located on the end of the card, instead of the top, you have to allow an extra 1/2 inch or so.

No, the largest motherboard this case can take is ATX.
