Should i get extra fans for this case or is the air flow good enough 
for gaming?

Air flow is sufficient for cooling with the (2) rear / front 120mm NZXT fans.  you can connect them (if your board has enough fan headers) to you mother board to be power managed, i believe they are rated 1000RPM to 1300RPM max.  You never need to go insane about case cooling, good case cooling is about good airflow in a single direction from one end of the case to the other.  No matter how much you stress you CPU and graphics more powerful and noisy fans vs. silent fans will barely make a difference how hot case gets.  You will find that case temp is normally the same and depends on your ambient temps if you live in California then your ambient temps can be anywhere from 70f and up depending if you have AC cooling the house.  I game and i see very minor case temp changes between season changes usually around 30-35c.

What the heck is this used for? I'm looking for a case that is supposed to be used to just keep all my computer parts in

It is exactly what it says, a computer case. I purchased it last year for my personal computer. Its very solid in build and looks nice too. You put your parts inside of it.

Can I use water cooling in this case?

It all depends on the radiator you use. The case only has 4 fan holes, and there's not much clearance in any of them. The front two ports, if I recall, are designed to support some form of water cooling. I'd email NZXT or check their site, their customer support is great.

Question 4

How do you connect the two case fans to the motherboard instead of the power supply?  I see the three pin for one of the fans  but not the other in front, and it seems like you would need to tear up the wiring for the fan in the back that snakes near the middle of the case.  I have a ASUS z170-A so plenty of fan connectors on the motherboard.  Otherwise, great case.  All is working so do not want to tear up the wiring for no reason, but just thought there would be more control if fans are connected to the motherboard.

Everything is in the manual my friend. All case fans should connect directly to the motherboard.

What type of bearings do the fans that come with this?

Not sure but I can't hear them at all. Keep in mind this case is designed for sound reduction and a clean look. It is not great at keeping heat levels down.
