2 out of 5 eggsGood case but...

Pros: Before buying this case, I read the reviews which said it came in retail packaging and all the original accessories. I have never gone wrong with buying refurbished products from Newegg so I had no qualms pulling the trigger on this. Well, I found out the hard way that you should never buy a refurbished case.

Sleek, minimalistic design that is not gaudy like all the other 'gaming' cases. Good build material with plenty of room. Very good case over all.

Cons: CONS: A lot of things.
First, mine came in a really battered box that was partially ripped and exposed the product. The protective styrofoam was ripped before I even took out the case out of the box and fell apart when I took out the case. The inside of the case was caked with dust. I had to spend a good 30 minutes wiping the case clean with alcohol wipes.

Second, the case came with absolutely nothing, no screws, no manual, no wire straps. In fact, it was even missing parts of the case such as the dust traps and the 200mm fan which was advertised as included. Thankfully, I still had my old case and I was able to use the screws from that. However if you are building from scratch and don't have spare parts available I strongly discourage you from buying this product because not having screws is crippling.

Third, this last thing really startled me. Whenever I bought a refurbished product from Newegg it was always in almost brand new condition or showed very subtle, almost unnoticeable sign of use. Not with this case. One of the panel walls had noise foam that was in tatters. It had deep gashes and holes everywhere. Not only did this case show clear and obvious sign of use, but it was in garbage condition. I am very disappointed that Newegg saw fit to resale this product.

Other Thoughts: Out of necessity, I kept the case. But I will be contacting Newegg or the manufacturer to receive missing parts and replacement parts. Depending on how that turns out I will dock this review to 1/5 or 3/5.

5 out of 5 eggsI forgot that I bought refurb...

Pros: Well... let me say first that I forgot that I bought it refurbed because it literally is in perfect condition. There is not one scratch or one speck of dust on this case. Only when I decided to write this review did I remember that I bought it refurb... so, as the previous commenter said, if you're thinking about buying refurb but aren't sure... do it and save 20$.

Alright on to the review.

The case seems to be really well thought out and for the price, you can't go wrong. There are a few little things that made this case stand out to me, and that is all the "silent" features it has, including 200MM fans (which, I hate to say there aren't many on the market, but the ones I found are only 18 - 25db), the SSD brackets on the back side of the motherboard tray, and the sound dampening foam.

My previous case is a Thermaltake Level 10 GT (White), and I do like that case, and I'm not going to make this a bash on it or a review on it, but just so you know where I'm coming from.

I wanted something that is a bit more quiet, has less LEDs / lights, and that looked a bit more minimal (but still could meet my cooling and hard drive needs). After doing a lot of research, I decided on this box and it seems to deliver. The case seems to be made of good quality materials (steel) and normally when I read "plastic" as part of it, I am a little hesitant - but the plastic on this particular case is very high quality and NOT high gloss - it's a nice matte black.

The interior has a TON of room, lots of drive bays / slots (tool-less, other than the SSD bays), tons of room for cooling and radiators (I think there are 3 places you could stick a radiator - on the bottom of the case, top of the case, or the front of the case). It's well thought out for cable management with lots of space on the back side of the case to route cables through.

Cons: There is only one thing I could point out as a con (which, depending on your planned use, doesn't have to be a con).

Basically the steel motherboard tray (or at least the place you screw your board in to) feels a little thin to me. I think just another 1/32 of a inch and it would be just fine, but it just feels a hair thin. This is not a con if your system is low traffic (meaning you upgrade maybe once a year), but if you are constantly swapping boards out, I could see this being an issue.

This is probably more personal preference then anything and is hardly enough to drop an egg.

Other Thoughts: This box seems to be well made, well thought out and engineered and well constructed. I can't believe the box I got would be referred to as "refurb" because it seriously is brand new - it didn't even look like it had been opened.

If you're looking for a minimal box that is fairly quiet, I would suggest this one.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge case

Pros: Lots of space in this case to build with. No need to cram. Great modern look. Fit my large Radeon 6990 card (approx 12" length) and didn't have to remove hard drive chassis to do so. No stupid LED lights or windows. Plenty of room and options for cooling fans.

Cons: It's rather large for a computer case, but I had a good idea that it was going to be a big case. Silent case, but not quite as silent as I hoped it would be.

Other Thoughts: Bought this refurbished and it arrived in original retail packaging. Came with all original documentation and accessories. Case looked brand new. If it weren't for the new tape across the box lid, I wouldn't have been able to tell this was a refurb. If you're debating on getting the refurb, don't hesitate. You'll be glad you saved a few extra bucks.
