The Smilodon case from Raidmax makes assembling a system easier than ever before. It has a modular, tool-less design that makes the initial build and future upgrades easy. Both side panels latch into place for easy access. For the ultimate in convenience the right side panel has the motherboard tray completed with backplate attached. This lets you install the mobo and all your cards, then lock it into the case as a single unit.

Drive installation couldn’t be easier. The external bays all use Clicklock technology, just slide the drive into the bay and lock it into place. The hard drive rack is removable for easy installations and upgrades. All of the necessary drive rails come in a slide out box so you don’t lose them.

Once you have everything assembled you need to make sure it stays cool. In addition to the fan on the 500W power supply Raidmax has loaded the case with plenty of additional fans. A 120mm fan is mounted on the front of the case to draw cool air in and blow it across the hard drives. Side and rear mounted 80mm fans keep the air moving over all critical components. There is also an 80mm fan with blue LEDs that mounts to a support brace that holds your expansion cards steady and blows cool outside air over them.

  • newegg Convenient Installation The Raidmax Smilodon features a fully removable motherboard tray for easy system upgrade without removing your PCIe/AGP/PCI cards. Plus the tool-free design ensures quick assembly of other devices without the need for any tool, saving your precious time.
  • newegg Transparent Side Panel Window The Raidmax Smilodon’s fantastic transparent side panel window provides a direct view of the inner system. An 80mm side fan with blue LEDs improves interior airflow and looks simply amazing too.
  • newegg Superior Expandability with 10 Drive Bays Featuring four 5.25" external drive bays, and six 3.5” drive bays (two external and four internal), the Raidmax Smilodon provides superior expandability.
  • newegg Efficient Ventilation The Raidmax Smilodon features one 120mm front intake fan, three 80mm fans and side vents for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg Video Card Cooler and Stabilizer The side video card stabilizer with an 80mm fan cools your video card and prevents it from moving for enhanced system stability.
  • newegg Built-in 500W PSU The Raidmax Smilodon is equipped with a powerful 500W power supply unit to feed energy-consumptive systems, making every computer component run robustly.

5 out of 5 eggsI have 2 why don't you

Pros: Keep cool, lots of fans and bays I have had one for five years. Dust has trouble collecting with all the air flow. Easy to install all parts with the doors.

Cons: I do not like the front door it just gets in the way.

Other Thoughts: this case has been around for years

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice case for the price. The LEDs are nice and bright blue and tons of space inside as well. Great case for the budget though

Cons: -Fans a little loud
-Wish there was room for a 120mm fan
- Have to keep the panel open for front USBs.
-Power supply at the top

Other Thoughts: You have to be careful closing the side of the case and make sure you don't close in on the cables that hang down like I did.

4 out of 5 eggsGood idea

Pros: Great idea, with the easy-open panels, really would make assembling a complete breeze.

Air flow is pretty good. No idea if the fans it comes with are any good.

Well put together.

Cons: No space. And I mean, none. There's plenty of space for hardware. Unless you have a large video card. My H80 doesn't fit properly, though it may be the fans I have on it (rubber bushings).

If you prefer the inside of your case to be clean looking, look elsewhere. There is no space for cable management.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's a good case. USB 2.0 is a big drawback, but with some dremel work to the arm thing, it's a great case if you don't mind creatively tucking your wiring.

4 out of 5 eggs5 Years and going

Pros: I don't get why everyone rags on the psu in this. I have had it running 2 hdd, a dedicated graphics card, wifi card, dvd drive, and an old c2d @1.3ghz over stock. It may be a different story on newer systems, but it has served me well as a backup for years.
Sturdy design aside from the door is a bit iffy. Fans, fans, fans!

Cons: I dont care for the door and the mesh over the drive bay fan can collect a lot of dust and is a pain to clean.

Other Thoughts: For the price, the build quality, and a psu included.. I think it's great considering its been going on 5 years now.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing, if dated, product

Pros: I purchased a similar product (the green one) 2 years earlier, and was so pleased I purchased this style for my new computer last year.

Excellent design features lots of fans, and amazing doors and features that make this a great purchase. It comes with some spare parts and mounts, easily removable parts on the extra bays, and is easy to clean and use.

My new computer (this product) seems to have quiet fans, after one year, although my green case had some bad/noisy bearings after little more than two years.

Cons: Does seem, at this point, somewhat dated. USB 2.0 on the front (i only rarely use them, though). Didn't come with an additional side fan, even though there is a space for one...

Front door must be opened prior to opening cd/blu-ray drives.

Other Thoughts: I still would highly recommend this case if you are looking to build a new computer, despite the usb 2.0 front ports, and lack of 1 extra fan.

It is ridiculously easy to perform maintenance, add, remove, or clean any and all components.

It is easy to access every area needed and comes with spare parts you will end up using at some point if you swap parts or add equipment.,

3 out of 5 eggsWouldn't Recommend

Pros: Nice aesthetics. Low price. Lots of fans. Toolbox built in for easy maintenance.

Cons: First off, the case is really cheaply made. Lots of plastic parts that break easily.
A bigger problem is that the cables short out over time. My front and side fan power cables have all come lose over time from the end connectors, which are also cheap. Finally, the motherboard panel is kinda useless since in order to use it you would need enough slack in each of the cables to actually reach the ground when it's folded out. This would crowd the case.

Other Thoughts: You should get a different case for this price and definitely don't buy this if you intend to actually use the power supply on a gaming rig.

3 out of 5 eggssweet features, but poor LED's

Pros: I love the fact that both sides fold down and are removable. It has great cooling, keeps my GeForce 9800 at a cool 45 degrees. Like another guy said, there is a blue case in the bottom that has the hardware in it. Some people complain about the front fan being covered, but my house has been dusty lately due to work, and the front grate has a thin film over the whole fan, so it is sucking just fine. I turn my computer off now while I am working to avoid debris in my comp.

Cons: Only after 3 weeks 5 out of the 6 blue LED’s burnt out. Only 1 blue and the red system LED work. No big deal, I’ll just order some new brighter ones. Another con is no cable management, so I had to use several zip ties.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Overall, I love this tower. The dual doors are great for working on the motherboard alone or the rest on the other side.

THERE ARE SCREWS! They are in a little blue box behind where the hard drives go. At first I didn't realize it had come with screws, and I was really excited when I found them.

The plastic clear panel is amazing to see it in action. The blue LEDs really give me an advantage with my color scheme on the PC, but that was because my graphics card and my speakers came with blue LEDs.

All of the fans keep it cool and running perfectly fine with my advanced graphics card and processor.

Because it comes with a preassembled power source and fans, the motherboard can be assembled immediately and less time is taken.

I love it!

Cons: The hardware case was a little hard to find at first because it gave a minimal specification of where it was. It took me a good 10 minutes to find it, but that's nothing that was a real problem. No other cons.

Other Thoughts: It is well worth your money, especially because it comes with its own preassemled power source which could be swapped with an advanced one later in the computer's life.
