1 out of 5 eggsGreat look. Great price. Overall great except.

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Sleek and nice look and light weight compared to other machines. Lots of features and overall a good gaming rig. Uses screws for the case not that cheap plastic stuff that can easily snap off.

Cons: Fans in the front died after about one month. Not a huge con but still an annoyance. Top panel to install the top fans are a bit of a hassle.

After about 7 months of use, the power switch died. My machine does not turn on after an extended period of time or sometimes not at all. The power switch messes with the machines sleep mode (will try to wake up but turn off and go in an endless loop). Tested MB on another case and issues went away. Turns on fine if I jump start it with a screw driver so I know it's not the MB or the PSU as I have no issues with my Gigabyte MB or the EVGA PSU when it comes to gaming or heavy demand in terms of power.

Never had a power switch goes out and the only way to replace the switch will be to get a new case which is a shame. I'll deal with that if I have to get a new MB or build. I will not buy from Raidmax again!

Other Thoughts: HDD and power light are on top of the case. Not a con but I have to stand up to see if something is loading what not (if I have to see). I just prefer my HD/power light in the front view.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case with many options

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: I loved the spacious design as it was larger than I had expected which is a plus.
Great price.
The sliding HDD trays are amazing.
Its looks were great as well.

Cons: The end of the SATA cable that came pre-installed was broken and now I have to find a cable that I can replace it with.

Other Thoughts: If it weren't for the broken cable I'd give it 5 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mid level case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Fashionable looks
Low noise thanks to closed side
Relatively spacious interior

Cons: Front LED fan is 4 pin molex
No interior grommets
Rubber port guards on top of case are not attached

Other Thoughts: Case arrived as pictured, and I excitedly tore into beginning my 1st PC build. MB mounted right in as expected and all of the cables routed where they below. Included in the case were a package of velcro ties that correspond to raised loops for wire guidance. PS mounted at the bottom with no issues, drives went in easily and I was off to the races with my first PC. Though I can hear the fans running and cycling from time to time, the case is much quieter than my friend's PC with an open side. All in all a decent mid level case with a pleasing look to it.

4 out of 5 eggsSleek Case for Price

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Awesome design, easy cable management, easy fan attachment, adequate hardware, and at least for the green LED lit one, it looks great. Lastly, the Hard drive and SSd Drawer feature is brilliant!

Cons: The only reason I deducted an egg was that the description did not really make it clear that I needed a certain USB 3.0 connector on my MOBO in order for the front panel USB 3.0's to work. Really my fault for not doing the research, but now I have an excuse to upgrade MOBO and CPU

Other Thoughts: Due to the design and top radiator mount, I have officially made the switch to liquid cooling and haven't looked back,,, also, for an ATX Mid tower, this thing is pretty large (not a bad thing, just wasn't expecting it)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: I was pleasantly surprised when this case came and I started building my new rig. Based on the price, I was expecting cheap, thin plastic, but the main case itself is metal and very durable. The top and front parts of the case are, indeed, plastic, but much more durable than I expected.

The top comes off, allowing access to the double liquid cooler mount, which worked perfectly for the Cooler Master Seidon 240M - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans that I purchased for this build. The 5.25" optical drive bays are concealed by a swinging door on the front of the case. I personally like this but others may not. It doesn't come off easily for anyone who doesn't like such access doors.

There are two sound jacks (earphone and mic) and two USB 3.0 ports on the top front of the case, and they even come with dust protectors, as does the 2.5" SATA hot swap port on the front.

Cons: The only thing negative I can say about this case is that the power and reset buttons are made of very cheap, thin plastic. I fully expect them to break eventually - maybe in a few years after thousands of power ons. Not bad enough to knock off an egg though.

Other Thoughts: This case is very well designed for the DIY system builder. I had absolutely no problems building my new system. There is plenty of room to work in, more than enough drive bays for my needs, and I especially like the no-screws-required drive bays with runners that snap right into the screw holes of my drives. Each side panel of the case has a folding handle in the back offering more leverage when removing them, as well as hand-tightening grip screws that hold the side panels in place. More nice features of this well designed case.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case has a sleek looking design, it fits all my needs as far as room goes. I fell in love with this case when i first saw it and I have really enjoyed it since i have owned it.

Cons: As far as the case goes only 2 things stuck out. they could have spent the extra 2$ and put rubber grometts in for cable management on the inside of the case. and the cover for the external 2.5 inch quick swap bay kind of stinks it does not fit very well. You have to leave it open. I was however very unhappy with the shipping methods other companies would have packed an item like this better. The box was damaged when i received it. I also ordered a mobo from newegg and if it is not packaged any better I will more than likely get the other 2 components i need from amerzon (had to misspell that or new egg would not let me post my review) because at least they take proper care when packing items WITH OUT charging extra. Shame on you new egg

Other Thoughts: other than the way the item was shipped i am very happy over all
