5 out of 5 eggsGreat Form and Function

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is very accessible and easy to work on. Both sides are removable, as are the top and front facias. The motherboard tray has tie points on the back for organizing cables and even includes cable ties making it easy to have a nice clean look.

Cons: The motherboard tray is not removable, so if you are looking for that particular feature you'll be disappointed. If you are planning to install an extra-large video card (or two) that will require the removal of the center hard drive slots, you will be left with only 3 hard drive bays which might be a problem for some users.

1 out of 5 eggsExternal micro hard drive bay

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Big,
Two pre-installed fans,
External micro hard drive bay

Cons: I recently built a computer and chose your case for the housing. I trusted your case with over $1,300 of equipment. Today, 8/4/2015,
I tried to use the micro hard drive bay located externally on the top of the case. I inserted the hard drive and everything went great for about a second. After that my whole machine started smoking and my screen turned black. MY COMPUTER OVERHEATED! I scrambled to take the power away from it and flip all the switches off on the power supply and take every panel off i could to let it air out. That's when i saw it. The power cords going from the micro hard drive bay were a little melted and in a huge mess. I split the wires apart and followed them all the way to the power cable I plugged it in and they were ASSEMBLED IN THE WRONG ORDER! I unplugged it and tried to reassembled the wires correctly but they were just to messed up to even try so I just rolled them up and put the panels back on. Luckily the other parts were actually crafted with care and quality and after a few minutes they were running again. However, now I have a case that is partially broken because your team couldn't take the time to assemble it correctly. That external hard drive bay was one of the main reasons I chose this case over the countless others and it didn't even work. I should've known it was too good to be true. It's upsets me to think that after all that research your case was the choice. What do I do now?

5 out of 5 eggsBest case I have ever seen (Of this time)

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is a really good case for its price because 1: Comes with 2 free fans and fan filters, 1 LED lit, 1 not LED lit. ROOM FOR EVERYTHING. I found room for everything i have i can fit 5+ HDD, or SSD, Double Wide Graphics card, Water cooling (Fit to have a top radiator Very well nice job RaidMax) Not for sure but i feel that the motherboard tray could fit a extended ATX but I would risk it (The reason I said that is how much room you have putting a regular ATX motherboard in it. If you feel like added the double wide graphics card they made it REALLY easy with the removable HDD/SSD Holding Plates. Optical Driver are really easy to install with the pull tabs. In all I have to say good job RaidMax on this case

Cons: The main problem i have is that type of green at the front it makes it look horrid i wish they would used a darker green but this does not bother me. Cables in the case default are kind of small and i wish they would be a tiny bit larger but that's just me bickering. I wish the front optical bay door would be so much easier to open it tends the lock up and be kind of hard to open, "Kind of". The fans that come with are loud but you can easily remove them and replace them with quiet fans.

Other Thoughts: If you like Green/Black GO WITH THIS CASE.

5 out of 5 eggspretty good

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Good looking
secures computer components so they don't move around
backplate for hiding wires has extra room so it looks pretty

Cons: a little tight for the watercooling

Other Thoughts: as I said the watercooling had a really hard time fitting in, had to modify a little. other than that everything works quite swimminly, love the spot for the SSHD that can make it mobile, gives me nostalgia for zip disks

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Air flow great and looks great.

Cons: Cheaply made.

Other Thoughts: I've had this case for 8 months, bought it for computer I built for my Grandma. Power switch on top of case went out today. Hope they can ship me the switch cause I'm not shipping the case to 'em for that. I just will look elsewhere for cases in the future.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are sorry to hear the Power Switch created some problems for you.
It's no problem we can probably send out a switch for you, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com and ask our tech for parts.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Is roomy for an ATX. The mod design is easy to move, to allow the use of SSD drives. It will hold a total of 6 drives right out of the box. The mod design also allows for large video cards, as the plate can be removed completely. The 3 bottom drive try's will accept either normal drives or SSD's drives. The radiator can be mounted right above the cpu, and can take a large one. A real big plus that I did not see reading about the case is the SSD Hot swap right in the front. Was cheap. The glass in the side panel has a decent design on it, that you don't see in the photos as well.

Cons: The only reason I did not give it 5 eggs, is because of the fans. Not enough, but I knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: I am not a real big fan of this company, but I have bought 2 different case's from them, and so far they have been good ones. If you buy this case, buy some extra fan's, as they only have one in the front and one in the rear. And you can add a total of 4 more.

5 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great looking case. This case was able to house my Corsair H100i much better than my previous case with some room left over. I love the green, just because green is my favorite color.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I've seen some threads about bad airflow, but I haven't found that to be an issue yet, everything seems to be running cool. I did add some extra fans which could be the reason.

3 out of 5 eggsAwesome looking case, but...

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Awesome looking case. Looks totally alien and I love it. I was worried the green case lights would be too bright in my room at night, but they're just right. It's relatively light weight for being steel/plastic as well, so i'm happy about that, even though i doubt i'll be moving it around that often.

Overall though, i'm pleased with it... aside from the cons listed below.

Cons: All but one of the motherboard's standoff screws that came with the case were cross threaded, making it impossible to secure the motherboard without forcing the screws. Meaning I had to go out and buy new ones. Unfortunately the store i bought them from, didn't have the correct height standoff screws, resulting in the motherboard sitting lower in the case than it should be. In turn, this resulted in having to remove the motherboard's backplate, so now I've got a gaping hole in the back of my case.
Another side effect of the motherboard sitting lower than intended, is that my Wireless NIC card is sitting wonky on the motherboard. I had to loosen a screw on the card's bracket just to it to sit right without pulling the card from the motherboard all together.

To say that I was a bit Annoyed is putting it lightly.
If at all possible, I would LOVE to get replacement standoff screws. =\

Other Thoughts: So long as you get a case that doesn't have cross threaded standoff screws, I'd say it's a great buy so far. Just be prepared to buy new ones in the event they aren't machined properly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case looks great for a good price I payed 70 bucks on sale. I own the same case just in red. I also like that I have room to upgrade from my 120mm water cooling system to 240mm. This was for my first gaming build had no issues everything fit nicely in the case. It fit my 280x toxic which is a 12 inch long graphics card thanks to the removable piece above the drive bay. I also love the hot swap 2.5 inch bay its a nice feature to have.

Cons: I find the airflow isn't the best but that could be because I haven't installed another 2 fans yet inside. Also the box came a bit damaged but the case was fine.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely recommend! Just hope my airflow improves with a few more fans.

4 out of 5 eggsLove the Case, But !

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great looking Gaming case with optional additional cooling LED fans, plenty of room for PSU modular cable mgmt. Also can handle a Cooler Master Seidon 240M” – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans on the top portion, and most new Graphics cards.

Cons: Unable to fit the Radiator portion, onto the rear portion of the case, of the new R9 295X2 (Liq Cooled) Graphics card when combined with a Cooler Master Seidon 240M” – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans. Had to remove the Seidon 240M and go with the single 120mm Radiator and Fan Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System. Hope Raidmax makes more room on either the top or rear portion of the case to enable both 240m and new liq cooled graphics card to fit.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, Awesome looking, and with minor adjustments, case will be able to handle both 2 radiator cpu cooling and liq cooled graphics
