The SG01-BF takes another step forward in both performance and capabilities over the original Sugo’s aluminum chassis, the SG01. With the case now capable of handling even more powerful graphics cards than ever before, the case still has the smaller dimension of its predecessor intact. The now classic Sugo styling and proportions continue to stand out from lesser SFF designs while its tried and true chassis layout still impresses with standard form factor accepting capacity. Built based on a brand new steel structure, the SG01-BF is will again become the standard for builders looking to build quality SFF computers.

  • newegg Massive Performance, in a Little Chassis The SilverStone Sugo SG01-BF comes in an ultra compact form factor but features smart interior design to accommodate MicroATX motherboard, 2x 5.25" & 2x 3.5" drives, full size long expansion card (14.5"), CPU cooler not exceeding 82mm in height and ATX power supply unit.
  • newegg Excellent Cooling 1x 80mm side fan, 1x 80mm rear fan and a number of vent holes on walls enable effective system cooling. The steel structure not only improves strength and durability, but also enhances heat dissipation.
  • newegg Easy Access Front Panel 4x USB 2.0 ports, 2x audio ports and 1x IEEE 1394 port allow easy connection to a wide range of peripherals.

5 out of 5 eggsGeat case

Pros: After Lianli stopped making the size case we need, we stumbled upon this. The case is a solid case. Hold our high graphics in place perfectly. We have customers that travel with this case, inside a storm travel case for shows, and everything holds really well.

Cons: don't have any..

5 out of 5 eggsClassy Case, Great Customer Service

Pros: This is a great little case. As a first-timer pc builder, this case had a well organized interior and easy to use manual. I love the compact size, sleek appearance and sturdy construction.

Cons: FYI: the splitter supplied had one three-pin side, and one two-pin side, while both of the included fans require 3 pins.

Other Thoughts: The fan splitter that came with the case couldn't power both fans (see cons) but New Egg credited me the cost of a new splitter so I didn't have to disassemble my new build and send the whole case back. Thanks New Egg, for understanding that I couldn't bear to part with my new toy!

5 out of 5 eggsNice little case!

Pros: Very solid construction with lots of ventilation openings. Very nice looking: Passed the "spouse test" for appearance.

Cons: Nothing major, and just what you would expect considering the small form factor: Components fit without much room to spare; motherboard mounting screws are inaccessible with power supply installed.

Other Thoughts: The top of the package declares "this is a unique product" and directs you to read the instructions first. Although I've built systems many times over 20 years, I decided to "RTM". Required disassembly of the case and installation of components according to instructions went without a hitch.

The Silverstone website shows several accessories for this case including a crossflow fan and adapters to use the 5.25" bays for 3.5" HDD. Unfortunately these coordinating products aren't on Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsSuits my Media PC

Pros: -Compact size
-Long side vents for better air flowing
-Enough room to fit a single GPU
-Somewhat clean looking design

Cons: -Considerably long
-Edges are very sharp inside the case
-PowerLED in front is laser pointing(it'll hurt ur eyes)
-Considerably heavy

Other Thoughts: The size of the case is pretty much compact, only if u look at the front. But the side length is very long. It could be a Pros for some since u'll get enough room to put down GPU in it. But as for media PC, size matters.

4 out of 5 eggsHeat Issues

Pros: -Solid
-Not too difficult to work with

Cons: -Could be cheaper
-PSU over cpu

Other Thoughts: The Cooler Master Gemini II cpu cooler doesn't fit, the Scythe Big Shuriken will fit for sure but will block a ram slot or two. Zerotherm 570D fits and cools better than stock cooler. With stock cooler I am getting low to mid 30s Idle and light browsing. Running IntelBurntest will make it go over 70 into 80s. Ordered NT06-E heatsink that is designed for this case will see after I receive it and see if it drops temps a bit. Also planning on mounting a 120mm fan blowing up into the PSU because the problem seems to be if you get a PSU with a big fan facing down that it will suck the air out and end up competing for the air with the cpu cooler which leads to cooling.
Wish Newegg carried the SG01 Evolution which is redesigned and is made out of aluminum, but still suffers from the same heat issues though.

My Build
Asus P8P67-M Pro
Silverstone ST75F-P 750W Modular PSU
LG x24 optical drive
WD Caviar Black 500gb

3 out of 5 eggsNot great in its price range

Pros: -Looks good
-Good (solid) build
-Quality materials used while still pretty light
-Silent case fans

Cons: -Bad airflow design - at least without the custom Silverstone components like heatsink, crossflow fan in the back (those 2 are exclusive apparently), etc. The airflow relies on the PSU fan alone on the cpu side, since the video card cuts the access to the other half of the case that has the 80mm fans.
-Most heatsinks you can fit are the same type as the stock ones, which in this case would compete for air with the PSU, so make sure you can reverse that fan to blow up towards the PSU, or get ready for cooking.
-intakes are just holes, so you will need to constantly clean your heatsinks if you want them to perform well

Other Thoughts: There are many good cases in this price range (and don't forget to consider their custom components for this case prices too), but if you care about the looks, and you're just going for a small and quiet computer, this could be the case for you.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a Standard for me...

Pros: This case is Excellent. I have used it now over the past couple years doing custom builds for people. For its form Factor (Micro-ATX) there is not once close.

• Aluminum Construction (NO PLASTIC).
• Good Ventilation.
• Two Internal Hard Drive Bays.
• Two 5 1/4 Bays for CD / DVD / Media Card.
• Fits a FULL SIZED Power Supply (Recommend Modular)
• Separate HD and Video Cooling fans.
• Front Panel (USB, Audio, Etc…)

Simple!: If you are looking for a SFF (Small Form Factor / HTPC) this case is PERFECT!

Cons: Not really a Con, since a full Power Supply can fit into the case, you tend to get a snug fit of cable, this is expected.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking to buy, remember to get a LP (Low Profile) fan for your build. With the Full Power Supply, it does not leave room for most CPU Coolers.

One I know that works with both AMD and INTEL (Comes with the clips for both) is: Scythe Big Shuriken SCBSK-1000 120mm CPU Cooler ( Pay in mind, THIS THING WILL LOOK HUGE and like it won't fit, but it does. Cooling on it is excellent and pretty silent as well.

1 out of 5 eggsNever again

Pros: Sturdy well built nice case.

Cons: Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had serious trouble getting in touch with their US rep to purchase a HD audio jack front panel. The case only comes with AC97. I finally got in touch with them and ordered and received the part, but the bright chrome trim piece that goes around the jacks and hides the circuit board from view was not included. After another round of e-mails that weren't responded to I contacted the Taiwan office and quickly got a response from the US rep. He sent me a picture of another piece he said I needed but no price or other info. Also the piece he recommended was the exact one for the AC97 jacks that my case already has. Newegg says the problem is between the manufacturer and me and wouldn't interecede. I now have a $15 HD Audio key chain that negates the $15 rebate that they used to entice me to purchase their case. I would rather they included the extra jack and necessary trim and just kept the rebate.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid SilverStone like the plague. Entirely too much trouble for such a small part of an otherwise excellent case. I had planned on getting the $50 cooler that was designed for this case from them but I can't justify spending another penny with a company that has zero regard for customer satisfaction. The computer component market is too rich with companies that are willing to work hard to earn my business. For all Silver Stone knows this could have been a test build for the 100 units I had planned to build for my company using this case. Gave it one egg cause there was no zero option.

1 out of 5 eggsoverpriced and poorly engineered.

Pros: none really..

Cons: Summary: For the same price you can get a much better case from other manufacturers.

- Front drive bays are too large - Optical drives have a sloppy fit to them. I tried fitting several optical drives in my case I had lying around and each of them had undesirable gaps around the bays. I had to install weather stripping in the gaps to make it look even half decent.

- The light from the power and HDD LEDs on the front panel bleed out through gaps in the drive bays and around the front USB and audio front panel. Again, make the case look very sloppy.

- the cover is pretty flimsy.

- The paint is at best average.

- No accessories - most cases at this price range will come with drive adapters, extra hardware, etc.

- Front audio wiring harness only support AC97, not HD. Most harnesses that come with cases these days support both, so in many cases it's pretty much useless with any modern motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it wouldn't be a bad case if it were $30 - $40 but asking anywhere near the retail of $75 - $100 is just insane considering the range of other great cases that you can get at that price range.

Were I not building this case for someone else who specifically wanted this case, I would have returned it without question. I'll never build another system using a Silverstone case.

Note: I purchased the silver version of this case. Finding a silver DVD player to match it was next to impossible. Lian Li for example addresses this problem on their cases by selling drive drive bay covers for a small fee. Unfortunately Silverstone doesn't offer very many useful accessories for this cases. Obviously not an issue with you're buying a black case since most drives are black, but still worth mentioning.

Overall it's a case with potential that fails to do what competing case manufacturers are doing much better for about the same cost.
