The Silverstone LC10B-E case takes the classic desktop configuration and updates it for use as an HTPC. The front panel is both elegant and devoid of any unsightly holes. The two rear 80mm fans configuration provides ample airflow to easily handle the heat from the components. A front I/O panel on the front sports a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port and two audio jacks for an easy connection to your peripherals.

Inside the case there is as much space as a standard tower. There are seven internal 3.5” bays so you can set up a huge storage array with RAID data security. The motherboard tray will handle both micro and standard ATX boards. Everything else in your media cabinet is top-shelf; shouldn't your HTPC case be, too?

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with this case

Pros: Fairly roomy. Do you need more than 6 HDD's + Optical drive in an HTPC? Stylish. Quiet when used with intelligent fan control from Motherboard. Matches with modern AV components. People are always surprised that it's a PC.

Cons: No removable intake air filters. Cable management leaves something to be desired. Just need to use a modular PSU and wire ties.

Other Thoughts: I'd like the newer model with front panel USB 3.0.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good looking case. Room for 7 HD's!

Cons: Tight cabling. Wish it was 1" deeper. I have to take my graphics card out to get the power cables on the drives I have in the center cage. And yes, the motherboard power connector is right under the optical drive. And I.m real tempted to remove all the PSU's cables I,m not using (except the 3 connector SATA that will probably be needed).

Other Thoughts: It's got it's faults, but not enough of them to lose a star. I would purchase it again.

5 out of 5 eggsBest HTPC Case I've Owned

Pros: This is the second case in this series that I've owned. The first being the SILVERSTONE CS-SST-LC10B which has served me faithfully for nearly 3 years now. I ordered this case to overcome the other cases main shortcoming limited HD space. By switching cases I now have space for 6-8 Hard Drives, up from 5.

The design of the case is better than the other case. Airflow is greatly improved. 80mm fans are used in the rear rather than 60mm fans. The air intake slots at the front of the case are better designed.

I had concerns about my system overheating with the added hardrives but with the improved airflow over the earlier model its not an issue. During the system break in period I found myself replacing the cover anytime I poked around inside to maintain the airflow and keep the drives cool.

Cons: The 7th 3.5" bay is badly placed. Its mashed up against the MB. The space above the optical bay is usable for a 7th/8th drive and would be my first choice for placement.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Case, but cramped

Pros: I thought the case was well built. Good construction quality. Attractive.

Cons: It's a little cramped. Depending on the length of your power supply, the cabling can be very tight behind your hard drives. I had a devil of a time when I added my second HD.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but Basic and Expensive

Pros: Roomy and fairly good quality. Looks good.

Cons: Basic, no frills. Not a toolless design. Expensive for what you get. It's essentially an empty metal box. Why does it cost over $100? Reset button is big and placed right beside power button on front. Stupid! And yes, the blue LEDs are so bright they are actually painful to look at.

Other Thoughts: Sadly, if you want a HTPC case with lots of elbow room, you'll be paying over $100 no matter what.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid HTPC CACE

Pros: Solid build and space for 7 Drives was the main reason I purchased this case. I was able to install an 8th drive in a small slot underneath the DVD tray. You will need a small drill if you wish to add the 8th drive.

Cons: Space inside is a little cramped. So be careful in selecting large parts.

Other Thoughts: If you are going to fill this bad boy up with Hard drives Do not forget to buy the two fans as recommended by Silverstone Model Suscool 81 its really quiet and worth the extra cash.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Case!

Pros: Sturdy, beautiful, and well-designed. Standard ATX parts fit in perfectly. Plus I love the way it blends in with my Plasma HDTV and surround sound equipment.

Cons: The often criticized blue led. Not a deal breaker here, in a cabinet and behind smoked glass doors it's not really noticeable, but a softer more pleasant color would make it perfect

Other Thoughts: Had it for 1 year now, dust tends to slowly collect on the outside vents, and is easily wiped or vacuumed off. The inside stays pretty clean.

Very happy with this purchase. The HTPC is a family favorite.

4 out of 5 eggsSoft Paint

Pros: Nice looking case. I had everything in it in another case but it looked like a computer. Go figure, so I decided on this case after reading reviews and appearance. I wasn't disappointed.

Cons: Paint is rather soft and easily scratched. I used a full ATX MOBO and it is tight. I got a smaller CPU fan, lower profile, and I had no problem with the memory install (two 2G). Removed one of the hard drive cages and stuff the wires out of the way there. The plate for the drive is a little touchy to install but I knew it would be from the reviews. I took my time and got it to fit nicely, no gaps.

Other Thoughts: Take your time and you will end up with a nice HTPC build.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Case

Pros: Case had zero issues on installation. It sits with home theater equipment and people do not even realize that it is a computer so it does its job.

Cons: None
