The Sugo SG07, with a size that slots in between the venerable SG01 Micro-ATX SFF case from 2005 and the SG05, a powerful Mini-ITX case released in 2009, was designed to take the Mini-ITX platform to a whole new level. It is twice as powerful as the SG05 but only 37% bigger. Its custom 600W power supply with 80 PLUS Bronze level efficiency and single +12V rail, was carefully chosen and optimized for SG07.

Exhaustive testing was conducted to create unique VGA fan duct and exhaust vents that enable SG07 to not only accommodate the longest consumer graphics cards physically (up to 12.2 inches/310mm) but also capable of supporting graphics thermal profile of up to 400W through overclocking. For the CPU and motherboard area, a record-breaking use of 180mm fan (bigger than the Mini-ITX motherboard!) with vortex generating design was utilized to provide possibility of fanless CPU cooling of up to 95W (via CPU cooler such as SilverStone’s NT06-E).

But despite having tremendous amount of cooling performance, the SG07 is easy to maintain as well. It employs positive pressure layout with all intake areas fitted with removable filters so dust will not accumulate inside. If the goal is to make the ultimate Mini-ITX system, the SG07 is hard to beat.

  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance The SilverStone SG07 is a class leading SFF chassis that comes with a huge 180mm fan and positive pressure cooling, plus side adjustable VGA fan duct with oversized vents and bottom PSU intake vents and VGA exhaust divider, for amazing cooling efficiency.
  • newegg SFF Case with Superior Expandability The Silverstone SG07 features one external slim 5.25" drive bay, one internal 3.5" drive bay and two 2.5" drive bays, and supports CPU cooler up to 117mm in height and a high-end video card (up to 12.2 inches and 400W), providing sufficient expandability as a SFF case.
  • newegg Built-in 600W 80PLUS Bronze Certified PSU The Silverstone SG07 comes equipped with an 80PLUS Bronze Certified 600W power supply featuring single strong +12V rail that delivers continuous, reliable power to all system components and high energy efficiency.
  • newegg Removable Fan Filters The dust filters for the case fan, PSU, and VGA duct prevent dust accumulation inside the chassis and are removable for easy cleaning.
  • newegg Convenient Front I/O Panel The Silverstone SG07 features a convenient front I/O panel for easy access to two USB 2.0 and two audio ports.

3 out of 5 eggsSleek but faulty

Pros: The size, look and interior space are all great. This was my first build and even though the real estate was limited I had no problem fitting everything in and connecting everything together, including the EVGA 480 video card.

Cons: While I'm a fan of the case overall I can't go higher than three eggs because the custom built-in PSU blew on me while installing the OS. I shipped it back to the manufacturer ASAP. After calling they've indicated it's been received a week ago but they've made no effort to let me know the issue or when I can expect a replacement. This caused me to purchase and install a different PSU just to test the functionality of the other components while I wait to avoid missing the warranty window.

Now the massive 180 mm case fan is starting to randomly tick and at this point I'm tempted to just eat the cost for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: I understand that these kinds of these can happen with a new build but I was expecting better customer service.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

Pros: - Small size makes it easy to move around (reason I chose mini-ITX)
- Built-in power supply is strong and reliable so far
- Room for more components and drives than seems possible
- HUGE fan. Seriously, it's massive. Since it's bigger than the motherboard, it keeps the entire system under 70 degrees at full load, which is amazing in my opinion.

Cons: - Not exceptionally easy to work with, especially since there are so many cables in such little space. I simply could not plug in the HD-audio case header because of the location on the motherboard (right under the video card... why?). If some of the cables were a bit shorter, or there was more room to route the cables rather than stuffing them all in the front/side, it would have been much easier.

Other Thoughts: A good choice for a mini-ITX build. Sturdy/well-built plus a power supply without taking up too much space made this the perfect case for my needs.

1 out of 5 eggsMy first Silverstone case and dissapointed

Pros: the design is awesome and i'm lovin it, but...,

Cons: after i installed my case, i noticed that the 180mm fan is not working, what am i gonna do now? after all the cable management that i did, i have to sent the case back and redo everything again? i hope newegg or silverstone can just send me a new fan so i can get over it

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. If the 180mm fan isn't spinning while the system is powered on, please double check to make sure that it is receiving power properly. If you have the fan connected to a motherboard fan header, please go into the BIOS menu and disable any fan control option or adjust setting to increase fan speed. If you already have the fan connected directly to the power supply via an adapter, please try connect to another fan to confirm that it is working. 5 out of 5 eggsSturdy little SFF

Pros: Well laid out design. Removable hard drive cage can hold one standard mechanical drive and two ssd or laptop sized drives. I like the fact that this series by Silverstone has a one piece removable shell which makes it a breeze to work on. Nice looking case once complete. This was the smallest and easiest SFF build I've built yet.

Cons: I really can't think of any. Maybe that the reset switch is located on the back of the case. I would rather it was on the front, opposite of the power button. That, and the power supply should be full modular for the cost.

Other Thoughts: Based on reviews I read about this before I ordered it, the very first thing I did was take it out of the box and tested the power supply with a power supply tester. All voltages read fine. I had doubts that my Evga GTX 480 would fit due to the heat pipes that protrude from the side, but it does. All you have to do is remove the removable rubber seal on the bottom of the 180mm fan. You must use a slot loading dvd drive for this build. I ordered a Sony AD-7690H-01 and a StarTech SLSATAF20 20in Slimline SATA to SATA with LP4 Power Cable Adapter. Both work fine. Dvd burning speeds decreased by half using this, but I can deal with that. I am also using the stock i5 fan/heatsink for now, temps sit around 38c.

Intel Core i5-2500K
ASRock H67M-ITX

5 out of 5 eggsNice case, but you may need taps

Pros: Great design, very compact. Good design for getting a powerhouse in a very small form factor.

Cons: I just purchased my second one of these cases to make a computer for my dad. The first one was over a year ago and had no problems. The second one had paint in all the holes, which caused all of the screws to be damaged. When trying to put in one of the motherboard screws it broke off with very little pressure. I ended up having to retap all the threads in the case.

Other Thoughts: This really is a great case, just be warned that you may need to go buy a tap set to retap the threads before assembling your computer.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mini-ITX case, minor issues

Pros: -Just about as small as a case you can get that will fit a full size video card.
-Excellent cooling design
-600w PSU
-Sexy

Cons: -Case can easily overheat if you aren't careful
-Nowhere to put cables

Other Thoughts: This is the perfect case if you are looking to build a powerful mini-itx computer. The only problem I have with the case is that it can easily overheat in small areas. It is positively cooled, meaning all fans suck in air and the air just naturally goes out of the side holes. However this design means that if the case isn't in a completely open area, it can easily suck the hot air back in that is pushed out. Not a big deal if you plan on leaving the case on top of an uncluttered desk, but something to think about if you want to place this inside a cabinet or something.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat case with a little work

Pros: Fits nearly all fullsize cards
Best mini-itx layout i've seen with this small of a footprint

Cons: --Chassis fan speed toggle switch - when connected to a PWM fan header on the motherboard and switching the fan to "low" either the fan or my motherboard starts to emit an electrical buzzing noise. With the fan set to "high" the fan doesnt get above ~650rpm. I solved this by bumping the fan duty cycle in the bios up from 30% minimum to 40% minimum which put the fan at ~750rpm. Not a real issue, just makes the switch pointless, food for thought.
--I personally felt that some of the wiring should have been run differently
--Power supply is great, and the wires arent terribly bad when you re-route them. I'd like to see the PCI Express power cables be shortened significantly, how far can you really place the card from the psu in this case? I know it is a cost issue most likely but would add to the "this was made for this case" feeling and make for a higher feeling of quality. The same goes for some other cables in the case, like front panel headers and the chassis fan wiring.

Other Thoughts: FYI, the NT06E heatsink will fit, it may require some bending of the heat pipes though to allow clearance for whatever add-in card you put in your PCI Express slot.

Motherboard - Intel DH67CF
CPU - Intel i7-2600
Memory - Kingston HyperX 1333 2x4GB
VGA - Gigabyte GV-R695OC-1GD
Case - Silverstone Sugo SG07

5 out of 5 eggsStirling Case form SilverStone

Pros: compact monolithic design just barely squeezes into most entertainment systems & adds class to the HTPC genre. I liked it from the start & installation was pretty easy & I was up & running on the first build without any snags. I'm using a Prolima Tech Samuel 17 with an i7 875K & DFI MI-P55 with 2x2GB Transcend AXE-2000's @ 3.6Ghz & DDR3-2000.. =)

Cons: A case of this calibre sporting a 200+ price tag should have more frills. A Media compatible remote control & fan controllers would have been nice to add for an extra 30 bucks. Other than that, I can't complain about much. I learned you have to switch the PSU on, inside the case which is odd & a pain. The trade off is maximum use of space.

Other Thoughts: Silverstone made another compact, great looking case that can really accomodate a monster M-ITX system. My i7 875K runs fairly cool at low fan speeds & I can crank them up with the case switch & added fan controller for the CPU FAN. =)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case. Small issues

Pros: This case is great! It's extremely sturdy, a bit heavy but that just means higher quality. While small, there's lots of room to work here. I never felt it was too small, and this is my first HTPC box.

I have a full size Geforce GTX460 in here just fine. And still had room to tuck in the extra extra power supply wires. Fan is quiet on low. If you turn it to high, it can be loud, but its still bearable.

Cons: I have a sound issue with this case when using the front connectors. When plugging in any headset to this unit I get static that won go away. When I plug in a USB device (Iphone, USB Hub, Mouse, Keyboard) it gets significantly worse. I've tried everything but It just wont go away. If anyone has advice on fixing this I'm all ears! I always annoy whoever I'm talking to from this computer because of this static noise
