5 out of 5 eggsGreat price, good room

Pros: This has been an excellent case for my first build. Simple and solid.

Cons: Sensor broken, computer thinks it is "open" at all times. This happened after 1.5years of use.

3 out of 5 eggsSmall box, low price, big and little problems

Pros: -Very sturdy build quality.

-Beautiful design

-Painted black interiror

-Only required tools are hands and screwdrivers

-Front USB 3.0

-Thumb screws side plates on BOTH sides!

Cons: There were a lot of odd design choices going on here:

-Advertised and billed as a high air-flow case, with an embarrasing lack of cable management. Like zero. Why bother with the easy-to-remove "other side" panel if you can't route cables behind it? Why not include spots to secure zip ties and cables in the few key areas? More on this later

-The documentation was abysmal. A 40 page book, but its only 4 pages of marketing and specifications repeated in dozens of languages. More on this in the following con

-The HDD mounting system is so baffling. They are mounted sideways in both directions (so the platters are vertical, and the whole unit points towards the MoBo). You only fit 2 HDDs. The worst part is that with so much room and airflow, you'd think that there would be good cable management or clear directions on how to mount the HDDs, but there was none. Go ahead and google images for 'custom HDD solutions' for this case, and you can see what the designers should have done to manage hard drives.

-No quick mount hard drive slots.

-The PSU was top mounted, which I generally don't like as much as bottom with a vent. I'm always worried about the PSU breathing hot air all over the CPU,

-Odd placement of the front power/reset/usb/audio. They are on the very bottom right hand side, but not facing front. If you have a very cramped desk, and put it on your desk, and you can only have the tower to the left of your monitor, then this could be seen as a Pro.

-No way to remove the Optical drive cage. This could be seen as a Pro, as I used it to shove all of my zip tied extra cables together.

-I have to come back to the wonky HDD setup. It's like no one bothered to even complete a build in this thing. Again, it's advertised as "high airflow", but this setup prevents that. With normal PSU cables you can power 2 or 3 HDDs or DVD drives with a single cord, but the awkward distance with this setup means you HAVE to run a seperate cable to each HDD. So now you have extra cords dangling around the luxurious space, but are left with no way to manage the cables. Plus, the HDDs orientation forces the PSU cords to bend upward, which makes closing the side door difficult.

Other Thoughts: I did a lot of ranting. But this is still a pretty excellent case for the cost. If you don't mid the awkward button placement, HDD setup, only fitting 2 HDDs, or cable management, then this is a 5/5 case without a doubt. It is just sooooo close to being amazing that it actually makes it worse. A couple of no-brainer fixes would make this the champion case for ANY microATX tower.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent budget case

Pros: - Simple, appealing design

Cons: - front IO is in a very inconvenient location if you keep your case on the floor
- Not as sturdy as I had hoped (I transport my PC once or twice a month)
- no cable management help, but that is not uncommon in this price range

Other Thoughts: With the location of the IO panel I prefer having this case on my desk, I recommend looking elsewhere for a floor case.

Overall I think it is worth it to upgrade to the 100$ price range for fractal cases, but the core 1000 is not a bad compromise

2 out of 5 eggsBetter low end than this

Pros: Looks good on paper

Cons: Poor design and implementation. All screws are painted, meaning this tool-less setup requires a screwdriver. Fit and finish is clearly low end, with many low end cases better. USB ports are on wrong side, since being a mATX you might stuff this in a small area, pushed toward the right to allow left side vent clearance, which forces USB ports against cabinet. Side vents and USB should be same side. Rubber hard drive mounts somehow cause HD vibration. Had to wedge to correct.

Other Thoughts: Even with discounts, still not as good as normal cheap cases from other makers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for simple build

Pros: Easy assembly for 1 optical drive and 1 hdd with good airflow. Can add 2 more drives if needed, or more if I mod the case. Usb 3.0 if available on motherboard. Nice small form factor and simple design. Switched my htcp to this case.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: Best small case I've used to date. Will probably add another fan to side for graphics cooling. I'm happy I decided to jump on this one before they were gone. Will be adding pci-e card for usb 3 connector.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall and Awesome

Pros: Got 2 of them for $25 each! With Free Ship!
Fantastic case for a MicroATX build.
Great quality/feel, especially the paint.
Included front mesh insert for 3.5" reader/fan controller.
Thumbscrews for everything important.
Unique HDD/SSD mounting location.
Quiet 120mm fan included
CMOS speaker included!
I love the placement of the power button, USB, and audio connectors. It gives the front of the case an exceptionally clean look.
One 100mm and one 120mm fan can be added.

Cons: Poor routing location for front panel wiring. I drilled a hole down at the bottom for much neater cable management.

Heatshrink on all included wires except PWR/RST/HDD. They made everything else look nice, why not these?

Blue LED is blinding! Good thing its on the side of the case.

Other Thoughts: This is likely to be my go to case for MicroATX builds.

Some may not like the placement of the power, USB, and audio connectors.

If you didn't want/need an optical drive, and with some creativity, you could easily fit 2 closed loop water coolers or a dual radiator in the front of this case.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Case

Pros: Cheap.
Removable HDD Mounting Plate.
Entire front of case is filtered mesh.
Good airflow.
Looks good, simple.

Cons: Quality control:
- The feet are stick on adhesive. All of them are off center. One of them did not have all of the adhesive backing removed before being applied. It was loose in the bottom of the box.
- Dying fan, it rattles and squeaks. This is a new case.
- The most irritating thing was the cutout for the motherboard backplate. It was slightly out of square and not parallel with the rear of the case, making the motherboard ports not line up with the cutouts on the backplate, blocking access to most of the upper ports on the motherboard. I had to get creative and stack a couple of washers underneath the upper motherboard standoff to force that corner of the motherboard out a little bit so everything would line up.

Other Thoughts: Would be a very good budget case if they had better quality control. I work IT for a business, we've bought several of these in the past. This is the first one with any noteworthy problems.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case for price

Pros: Simple design with unique drive installation. I actually like it for my very simple server since I only need two drives. Front grille design is great since I don't have an optical drive installed.

Cons: Sharp edges are no joke, it will cut you if you're not careful. Things don't line up great---screws for side panels are rough to use. The drive bay for the third drive, under the 5.25" top bay is useless since none of the holes line up for me to use a drive. I bought two of these, and neither of them have the drive holes lining up the right way.

Other Thoughts: The other features and the price are enough to forgive the shortcomings of the case....but I'd rather have the drive bay actually hold the drive I wanted to store in the 5.25" bay like I had planned.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple & Excellent

Pros: *Small and still plenty of space for my two SSDs and my 2TB HDD thanks to the design
*Quiet but doesn't come close to overheating; using intel 5i with stock fan and the MB and CPU never go above 55c, even in the summer while editing etc. videos.
*Needs to be cleaned half as much as my old case, thanks to the filter in the front

Cons: *The front panel being on the side has really gotten annoying, but I knew it would be like that before purchase, so no reason to deduct an egg
*Related to the first con, because of the positioning of the front panel, I accidentally broke one of the front USB ports by bumping against the side when I wasn't paying attention.
*Most aftermarket CPU coolers probably won't fit in it, but again that's something you know before you buy, and not something I expect most people who buy this case to be concerned with.

Other Thoughts: Really a great case overall. All my stuff fits in it and nothing overheats.; its durable and very easy to move around/transport (I've moved it back and forth from home to college several times without indecent).
