5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Everything fit perfect. Everything disassembles for easy installation and maintenance. Great wire management. Quality construction and material. Has a professional look to it, does not look like it was designed by a teenager like 99% of other cases.

Cons: Joanne didn't come with it

Other Thoughts: No more Antec cases. Fractal Design blows them away

4 out of 5 eggsVery good case for watercooling a compact system.

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case looks very stylish. Pretty much all fractal design cases are.

It has front panel USB 3.0

It features a quite nice fan speed controller on the front.

The filters are easy to remove and clean, and they contain a decently thick but open to airflow foam that allows good filtering, and good airflow.

The reset button is recessed to keep you from pressing it when you didnt mean to, or to prevent a cat from pressing it.

Cable management is quite good, my build looks nice and tidy for having 10 120mm fans.

The included fans are about average in terms of build quality. They look to be a little cheap, but they work fine.

It has two SSD mounts behind the motherboard if you want to keep clutter away.

For those planning on using two graphics card but still want another IO slot, it has a clever IO slot mounted at a 90 degree angle to the other that you could use either a riser with (for like soundcards, ect) or if you just have something simple like a USB header, it can be used quite easily, plugging into the motherboard as usual.

The smoked side panel gives the perfect blend of subtle and show-off for my system.

Cons: The power button and HDD LEDs are brighter than the sun at night! I will have to add a resistor to dim them down because they light up my ceiling at night.

Unfortunately, to install a 240mm radiator on the front and a 360mm on the top, you have to remove both HDD cages AND the optical drive bay. I guess it has to happen with such a cramped case.

The bottom fan cannot be fitted with my 750W EVGA supernova installed. It really isn't that big of a power supply...

The included fan speed switch can only handle three fans. I plan on adding like 7 more headers.

The case seems a little expensive. I have never purchased a case before, so I really cannot compare it to anything.

Other Thoughts: Quite the compact little beast of a case! I would recommend it for a compact build.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality case that delivers on cooling performance

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Heavy (many people list this as a con but I like how sturdy it feels; very solid. Cable management was pretty good and the overall quality of this case is outstanding. Coming from a Cooler Master case this has been a very nice upgrade. I would rate the ease of build up there with the top end Corsair cases. The design is great; conservative but with many options for cooling

Cons: none that I can think of but would have like just a little more room behind the mobo for cable management; it's not bad but a little more would have been nice. If you use a modular PSU you will be all set

Other Thoughts: I would not hesitate to use this case again; very happy with it

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: It probably has the best radiator capacity for a micro-ATX case if you don't mind removing the HDD cages. It has SSD mounts hidden in the cable routing area. It has dust filters.

Cons: Too much plastic. The built-in fan controller is worthless. It's the size of a mid-tower.

Other Thoughts: The overall quality is mediocre, although it's probably the best you'll be able to do for $100. It's a pretty good case if you want to custom water cool a micro-ATX rig. If you're going to air cool or use a AIO water cooler there are much better options.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great build quality, airflow, filtering, and cooling options. The included fans and speed controller just make it that much better, and the ability to move the hd cages around comes in very handy. This case also has plenty of cable management options which is always good.

Cons: The included fans are not that great and at full speed they make quite a bit of noise. However everything stays cool even at the lowest fan setting so it is not a big deal. The side window is easy to scratch so be careful when cleaning or moving it. This case is on the large side for an matx case, which could be an issue if you want a compact case.

5 out of 5 eggsI still LOVE this case

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Honestly this case is just beautiful. Features are fantastic, the smoked window looks GREAT, lots of HDD bays and you can just pack the stuff in there.

Cons: Be careful, video card length matters... I have to slide the HDD cage in with my XFX 280X DD in order to get things to lock in. It works though... Also, cable management in the back can be a total pain, so route well or you won't be able to close the side.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Got this case to replace a Lian Li since they don't want to keep up with modern features. The case looks excellent and functions well.
-Plenty of room inside
-Removable hdd bracket, with metal sleds
-Sufficient cable management
-Filters seem to do a good job keeping dust out
-Tinted window looks excellent
-Quiet fans
-Works well with h100i

Cons: There are only a few things I would change that would make this case better:
-Steel is fairly heavy compared to an aluminum case
-Side panel latching could be better so it doesn't release completely as you are taking it off
-Finally I wish they used coarser thread screws and kept them uniform. These are too easy to strip by accident.

5 out of 5 eggsFractal Design

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is simply, amazing. Dropped temps in my Wifes PC by 30C coming from an old Antec FT. Almost completely quiet and yet I've added extra fans. Cable management and air filtering is great!

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: Think I mite pick one of these up for my next build. My 1st Fractal Design case and I am highly impressed!

4 out of 5 eggsA Keeper

This review is from: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: The cases have sure come a long way since the days of sharp metal edges and do-it-yourself venting solutions (read drilling holes). This latest offering from Fractal Design is a sure winner and a definite keeper. It offers a wide variety of cooling configurations, so many that I sat and stared at it for 10 minutes before I decided on one. There are foam or seine air filters on the top, front and sides and all are easily removed for cleaning. I elected to go with a positive pressure configuration, leaving the 140mm fan up top to help with exhaust and moving the rear mounted 120mm fan to the front to help pressurize the system and relying on the most easily removed front air filter to do it's job. Watch the video, it will show you all these details up close and personal. One thing I did do was to remove the foam filter on the top of the case, since that's output and I didn't see the need for filtering outgoing air and I would rather not have the airflow restricted anyway. Hardware was generous and allowed me to have a fully blacked out kit put together in no time. The plastic "brushed finish" front bezel looks great and the front fan cable lengths give me confidence in mounting the front fans on the bezel instead of the frame (the more traditional location). I will definitely buy this case again.

Cons: Why only 4 eggs you say, well, here goes the room-for-improvement section:

The cutout for the CPU mounting plane access port is about a half inch too far north. For you engineering types, there needs to be more room toward the bottom of the case. My motherboard, a brand new MSI B85M Eco LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX does not have enough clearance to mount a good cooling backplane without taking the mobo out of the case. And why do you ask, did you mount the motherboard in the case without the cooling backplane ? And he answers that he was foolish enough to believe the plastic mounts on the stock cooling would be fine and not break off while trying to remove them since the heat sink would not stay attached to the mobo on 1 side. Fool that I am. Gentlemen, read this and make the darned hole bigger.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very satisfying experience with this case. I felt I received a fair value for the price even though I missed out on the $20ish dollar sale that Newegg was having by a week or so. Good fit, finish and well thought out. I will definitely buy this case again.
