i need to buy a motherboard for this right? becasue some pictures show it with a MB but some w/o it. so does it come with one or not?

No, DIYPC means Do It Yourself Personal Computer. In this case, the CASE is one of the do-it-yourself parts. It comes solo, with fans included. You do have to buy the motherboard separately and put the computer together with other various parts (graphics card, harddrive, cpu, etc.) yourself.

From experience, this case is a beast for cooling and has plenty of space. 10/10, would recommend for heavy gaming rigs.

Where is the HDMI Cable port at?

The hdmi port/s will be located on the motherboard, if it supports it, or on a gpu that you purchase, if it supports it. Either way it will be on the rear side of the case. That is the side with the holes the motherboards ports show on, and also all the horizontal slots for peripheral add on cards, like a gpu.

Does this come with 2.5" SSD adapters to fit in the HDD bays, or does this have a dedicated SSD area that some cases offer that does not use up an HDD slot?

From what I remember (built this for a family member) there multiple HDD slots and it comes with the quick release slide that you attach the hard drive to. There is also a slot specifically desicated to SSD.

Question 5

How did you guys go about installing the preinstalled fans onto the mobo? I have a msi 990fxa board and from what i see the wires from the top controller on the tower go down from the back to the fans but dont see any free connectors to attach to the motherboard for power.

Any help will be appreciated!!!

The preinstalled fans do not connect to mainboard. they connect directly to the power supply. the preinstalled fans are controlled by the fan switch on the top of the case.

Will the Corsair H100 GTX fit inside this case?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the top panel will support a 3 fan (360mm Radiator)
Watch for clearance however between the fans and the PS/2 Port area of the motherboard. If the I/O clearance becomes a problem you can simply move the radiator frontward and have no problems.

Was it difficult to connect the sata cables to the motherboard?  Are the hard drive bays removable to get better access to the SATA ports?

It was not very difficult to connect the Sata cables to the motherboard.  My only complaint is that my motherboard had the connections on the bottom, very close to the PSU.  Therefore, my cable management was not the best, but I was able to plug in 4 hard drives.

The bays are removable and tool-less.  They come out individually, as well as the entire section can come out in case you have a long gfx card or  thick wires.

What is the clearance like on the back side of the case in terms of wire placement?

The clearance was about 2-4 inches, havent meassured but it was good, NOT great because if you have multiple cables it'll be hard to close the back of the case, but NOT impossible either. What i hated about it was that the plastic clip ons (to hold cables) aren't sturdy and wont close once you apply the PSU and other cables, which sucks..

I have an R9 290 video card that is about 12.5 inches long. Can this fit with all of the hard drive cages in?

Yes it will. I have a graphics card atound that size and with all hard drives in, and it fits well.
