5 out of 5 eggsIt fits

Pros: - Slotted right in.
- Comes with all screws for mounting it and the HD.

Cons: - Nothing fancy but does the job.
- Didn't need the adapter cable but I knew it came with it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great to mount SSDs or laptop HHDs

Pros: I started out using the Star Tech bracket that comes with cable for SATA drives since my older power supplies lacked enough SATA power connectors and those came with standard 4-pin connectors. Now that am using newer power supplies I buy these instead and toss/recycle the wire. The bracket is the same in both part numbers and it fits consistently well in any case (mostly old gutted cases). Sometimes tight and sometimes loose but never have to do mods to get these brackets to work. Besides, they come with enough screws to mount the drive and also mount the bracket.

Cons: Too bad I can't just buy the bracket. At least I have not found that on newegg. I just hate having to pitch the connectors/wire.

Other Thoughts: I got fed up with the poor quality of desktop hard drives - no matter the mfr. They would overheat in short order and crash unless a lot of extra cooling was added. Granted within the warranty but that does not save your data or your (now used up) Windows OEM product code. So started using laptop HDDs in my desktops/towers using these brackets. Now don't have overheating failure issues with any of my builds.

5 out of 5 eggsNeat little bracket

Pros: I ordered an Intel 120GB SSD OEM which of course does not come with anything but the SSD itself. I got this bracket and it was so easy to install. I've seen other reviews talking about how the holes don't line up in certain cases. I have a full tower case and I had no issues at all. Although my case doesn't have just simple holes it has rails to tighten screws to so many different type of products can be installed.

Cons: None really, I already have the 3.5' - 2.5' IDE converter but it is nice to have another.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap, didn't align well with my case

Pros: Real metal

Cons: Short and doesn't align with common cases that use the far wholes on most HD's, so it didn't work with either of my cases

2 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with standard 3.5" HDD holes

Pros: Metal, not plastic. Comes with a 2.5 to 3.5 IDE conversion plug.

Cons: The holes don't match up with a normal 3.5" HDD. Luckily the tool-less setup on my case uses pins instead of screws so I was able to drill two holes to mount this thing properly. If you need to use screws to properly fasten everything you'll need a drill and a tap.

Other Thoughts: You would think someone would make a quality, non-plastic 2.5 to 3.5 adapter with the holes in the right spot as this seems to be a common problem. Also, who wants to wrap a hard drive in a plastic adapter. Last I checked plastic was a better insulator than metal, can't be good for drive temps but I guess it's probably not that significant of a difference...

3 out of 5 eggswrong size

Pros: Strong metal, ssd mounted fine on it

Cons: Doesn't work with Antec Veris case, it isn't long enough to reach the mounting holes, and even if you just want to attach one end the Veris screws wouldn't go in even with force

1 out of 5 eggsWrong Size

Pros: I was able to Jerry-Rig it.

Cons: 1) The 3.5" screw sizes are smaller than standard so you cant really mount it without stripping your screws
2) The 2.5" mounting part is not sized correctly so your Drive will have LOTS of play.

Other Thoughts: It is now stuck in my case due to screws breaking. Did they even try this before selling it?

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good.

Pros: Does what it advertises.

Cons: Didn't work with the tooless system on my case, but that wasn't a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Works great for my 2.5" SSD

Cons: It is too thin for some tool-less cases and won't clip in place. But bolt's in just fine into regular cases as it is aligned just right for a 3.5" drive's screw holes.

Other Thoughts: This has worked great in my old PC case and recently, for my Dad's all-in-one PC. I tried to put it in my full-tower case and had to rig it into place as it was a tool-less design and wouldn't clip into place. I just used a couple of rubber bands and it held it in place just fine.

I threw the IDE adapter away and I use SATA drives/cables.
