5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for cheap SFF ESX whitebox built

Pros: Stable, mature platform

Cons: Pricey for aging Q35 chipset

Other Thoughts: I'm running two of these in ESX 3.5 whitebox builds. SATA controller is supported, the only thing that isn't supported by ESX is the NIC.

5 out of 5 eggsSlipStreaming is not necessary

Pros: Very happy with this board.
Instead of taking the slipstream method for your hard drives. Set the BIOS settings for the drive in compatability mode. Install the OS, install the drivers for sata. Set the BIOS settings for the drive in sata mode.
Whala - drivers installed and BIOS settings are accurate!

Cons: Wish it could support:
More that 8Gb
More than just the 1066 Quad Core Processor

4 out of 5 eggsIntel Box DQ35JOE

Pros: Excellent reliable motherboard, quite a few features includes RAID on board, excellent feature if your concerned with data protection. Good video on board.

Cons: You have to know how to slip stream your installation of the operating system so you can install the RAID drivers into the OS not easy for someone that is not knowledgeable of building PC's...No 1.44 floppy support.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Recommended

Pros: I *thought* value was good for the cost...

Cons: The SATA ports on this board are TOO Loose - Even with locking cables. My C drive is constantly spinning up and down during use, it sucessfully boots only half the time and is DAMAGING my hdd with the poor connection.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I just ordered the GIGABYTE #N82E16813128363 to replace this, I'm hoping it turns out to be a much better board. We'll see.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Board

Pros: Came with all I needed for a quick replacement to a dying P4 machine. Compact, easy intall into mini-tower. Stayed with on-board video since it was better than what I replaced but has slot incase I change my mind.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Used Q6600 quad-core processor with 64-bit Vista Ultimate. Read Intel web-site about requirements for processor and settled on this board since no issues were known at time of purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable and easy

Pros: Onboard video, legacy and modern connection options (IDE and SATA), easy installation of CPU

Cons: Onboard audio had to be enabled in BIOS - spent a while figuring that out

Other Thoughts: Very easy to set up. Using a 320GB master and 1TB slave SATA drives, 2 IDE DVD-R drives. After install it took a total of 20 minutes to get all drivers installed and running. Good board for the price. I needed onboard video, and this board performs just fine with it. Probably not going to work for gaming, but I don't game much anyways.
