Intel rarely seeks the help of third party chipset makers, because it's rare that they come up to Intel's exacting standards. In developing the BOXD101GGCL, they called on the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset. Made in a Micro ATX form factor to fit the smaller cases, it supports the Pentium 4 Prescott or Celeron D at a FSB of 800 and 533 MHz. It is equipped with a PCI-E x16 slot for adding a PCI-E graphic card to remove load on the CPU, and can support a maximum of 2 Gigabytes of DDR 400 memory for enhanced and stable performance.
The four SATA 1.5 Gb/s connectors and two PATA connectors let you network with ease. The on-board Realtek ALC861 audio chipset delivers astoundingly clear 6-channel sound, and the built-in Realtek LAN card offers solid 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connectivity. Two PCI and one PCI-E x1 slots allow multiple expansion cards to improve system performance and share the processing load. This is a great value board from Intel, and ready for your best shot!
