5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Drop-In Motherboard

Pros: This is the perfect "browser board". Bullet-proof BIOS, exceptionally stable, and excellent documentation.

Cons: Pretty rudimentary video... this is no "gaming board". Would also be nice if it supported 2-gig dim's.

Other Thoughts: This is the most cost effective and stable "internet system" board I know of. Great value and solid reliability.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice inexpensive board with all the needed features and none of the useless ones.

Cons: You CANNOT install Windows XP with a service pack 1 disc or a disc with no included service packs. You will get a blue screen of death during install. After slipstreaming my disc to SP3, my product key no longer worked, which is a huge pain in the neck to get straightened out. Only 1 sata cable included.

Other Thoughts: Its a good board, works well, supports a long list of CPUs. You'll need to be sure you have SP2 on your Windows install disc and make sure you have enough cables.

5 out of 5 eggsStable as a rock!

Pros: Very stable as I pointed out. It has a good layout for the essential motherboard. If you need a reliable internet machine, this is it.

Cons: The board lacks a parallel port and has only two Sata.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have Windows SP2. If you only have MS SP1, you will get a blue screen 'stop error' when you load the OS. No SP2 boot disc? "SlipStreaming" ie. integrating the SP2 download from MS to your copy of SP1. Just look up "SlipStreaming"

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low cost brand name motherboard, does what a motherboard it's supposed to do.

Cons: It's the essential line (value) motherboards, meaning the amount of SATA ports is limited to two. Only support 10/100 ethernet. Not really cons but mostly limitations.

Other Thoughts: After two years of poor performance my 250 dollar Asus P5-N32 E-SLI motherboard died. I had to go on a budget and Intel had a solution. Remember to take the proper pre-caution when working with static sensitive electronics.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy to set up and it works

Pros: Cheap, easy to set up. Does what it is supposed to do.

Cons: This is for a very basic system. Period.

Other Thoughts: Two observations that might help someone.
1) The bios and the drivers sent with the board were about a year out of date. Easy to update them, however, on Intel's web site.
2) My one goof in setting up the board was to install the drivers before I updated Windows. The USB mouse then failed to operate. Reading the Read Me file (boneheaded error - Should have read it first) I discovered the drivers require at least XP SR2. I was rebuilding an old system and had installed XP SR1. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers on the updated version of XP, everything was fine.

Pros: was low cost board

Cons: DOA the video on the board did not work. tried on 2 monitors and I did not have a PCI video card to see if that was the only thing bad.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat dev server board

Pros: Fits right into the Supermicro 1U chassis without modification. Takes 800,1066,1333 fsb LGA775 procs. PXE support w/ great BIOS menu ( especially boot order section, very configurable ). Great price.

Cons: None for our setup.

Other Thoughts: We're using this board for our hosting platform deployment testing and system development, and so far it's great. Supports 32 and 64 bit operation. We purchased with Intel Celeron E1200, great deal for low end dual core 64 bit machine.

5 out of 5 eggsIf You Need Cheap but Reliable

Pros: This is actually a decent no-thrills motherboard by Intel.
Drivers are stable and it will run Vista64 and Aero in all it's glory, but not much else beyond office applications and web-surfing.

Really, plan on this board lasting in an office setting about 3-5 years and you will be fine.

Cons: Only two SATA ports and two memslots.
Weak graphics, but will run office applications and Vista "dreamscene" desktop well enough.
Forget it if you have any gaming ambitions for any game released in the last six or seven years.
Expansion?
Fuggetabout it!

Other Thoughts: If I was building own lots of desktops for office workers, I would use this board without hesitation.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat basic board

Pros: Great board for a basic or business system. Will accept most current processors from the lowly Celeron up to the Core2 Quads.

Cons: Lacks any PCI-e slots but not an issue if you know you won't need them, i.e., a business system.

Other Thoughts: I've built probably 20+ systems for customers based on this board without any problems whatsoever. Rock solid as are most all Intel manufactured boards.
