Intel makes your CPU. Why not have them make your motherboard, too? The BOXDH55HC is an LGA 1156 board supporting Intel Core i7, Core i5, Core i3 and Pentium series. You can add up to 16GB of DDR3 1333/1066 memory to support the operating system.

The motherboard is designed to support the advanced features that today's power users are looking for. It has an 8-channel audio system and 3 analog audio ports using the Realtek ALC888S audio codec. It also has 12 USB and a Gigabit Ethernet port. The brand new Intel H55 chipset provides full support for Intel’s 32nm Clarkdale CPUs with a HD GPU integrated.

File sizes are getting larger, especially for audio and video, so we need more secure ways to manage our data. There are 6 SATA ports, so you can hook up plenty of drives. Since you have plenty of available connectors you can use one drive for the OS and software and have extra drives for data.

  • newegg Intel Flexible Display Interface Intel H55 chipset supports both Core i7 and Core i5 CPU without GPU integrated and the latest Intel 32nm Clarkdale Core i3 and Core i5 CPU with an HD GPU so you can enjoy smooth HD movies without an independent graphic card.
  • newegg HDMI Output The Intel BOXDH55HC features an HDMI output for connection to your high-definition video equipment. With the HDMI interface ensuring lossless transmission of high-quality HD video signals, play back HD contents on your computer and view them on your large HDTV set for more comfort.
  • newegg PCI Express 2.0 Interface The PCI-Express 2.0 interface provides twice the bandwidth of PCI-Express X16 to handle the data load of next-generation graphics cards while retaining compatibility with current PCI-Express cards.
  • newegg Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity The Intel BOXDH55HC features a fast Gigabit network interface for high-speed LAN connections at up to 1000Mbps data transfer rates with advanced security features to ward off malicious attacks. Gigabit LAN is ideal for supercharged seamless streaming of Internet audio and video content.
  • newegg 12 USB 2.0 ports The Intel BOXDH55HC provides up to twelve USB 2.0 ports (6 on rear panel and 6 onboard) to connect more devices without frequent plugging and unplugging.

5 out of 5 eggsSpecs please!

Pros: This seems like a fairly nice board from all of the positive reviews.

Cons: Most negative reviewers are upset that the on-board video does not work. PLEASE see the specifications for this board:

Onboard Video Chipset: None

In the future, make sure that you read the specs before buying the board rather than trying to blame the board for something that you failed to understand.

Other Thoughts: Just because some of the newer chips (e.g., i3) have integrated graphics capability, only some boards can accommodate it. Read the descriptions people.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: INTEL MOTHERBOARD WORKED AS ADVERTISED. INSTALLED I3-550 CPU WITH INTEGRATED GARPHICS. VERY HAPPY WITH PURCHASE. INSTALLED 8GB MEMORY PER INTEL SPECS. INTEL WEB SITE PROVIDES EXCELLENT INFORMATION ON COMPATIBLE MEMORY MODULES. WOULD DEFINITELY BUY FROM INTEL AGAIN.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: VERY PLEASED WITH NEWEGGS PACKAGING AND COMMITMENT TO ON-TIME DELIVERY.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel DH55HC Motherboard

Pros: Built in audio and video works fine for me. Will see if video can handle the new monitor when it comes in. No problems with installing board. Works as advertises.

Cons: I haven't found any.

Other Thoughts: Pay attention to which CPU you buy. Some of the upper end units don't have the video embedded in the chip which will require you to purchase a separate video card. Not an issue for a power user or gamer as they will want the best card they can get, but for us normal users that want the onboard video, the CPU must have that built in. Mine is a basic system with the I3 550 CPU and it works great. Also make sure you get memory with the latency speed of 10600...otherwise you're going to encounter some problems. Maybe Intel will come out with a bios update that will allow the user to adjust for the different speeds available. Great board. Thanks NewEgg for the new user extra dollars off!! Jim.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Small / discreet board with the same power as other P55/H55 boards, but without the clutter from tons of extra components on many competing boards. Potentially $$$ less than alternatives if you want an i3/i5 build.

Cons: Large video cards will be positioned over the RAM. Just put your RAM in first and it won't be a problem.

Other Thoughts: - P55 is not 'faster' than H55, by design.
- SLI would be nice, but both the P55 and H55 will use 2 x8 channels instead of 2 x16 channels. If you want SLI, you should probably look at an x58-based chipset.
- I can run BFBC2 at full settings, 1920x1080, with just under 12-14 second load-times for any given map. That said, the board should be fast enough performance-wise for most gamers out there.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the $$$

Pros: Simple layout, Easy setup, Low cost

Cons: No on board firewire port, CPU area is very close to RAM,

Other Thoughts: If you plan on buying a spaceship sized CPU heatsink be careful because you may not have room for your RAM. I am using a small Zalman cooler and even that is barely clearing.

Very simple board with simple features, no IDE its all SATA and motherbaord speaker is built in. Ive only bought Asus boards in the past so I am used to their layouts. I was skeptical about moving to Intel but I have only heard good things and have had no problems so far. Great board for the cost. Wouldnt have any other one in its place for the price range. Go for it!!!

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive!!!

Pros: This little sucker performs with NO cards, 8 GB memory and 64 GB SSD... 2TB WD for storage and Win 7 Pro. Just be sure to match it with the i3 Clarksdale if you want video and sound without adding cards!!!

Cons: None... nada... zip...

Other Thoughts: After seeing the OS bloat on the SSD, I was able to knock that back to 25 GB by shutting off indexing, minimizing the restore options, move the Pagefile to the big drive and then clean it. Do your homework on the CPU and the memory and this little setup will not disappoint!!!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for lecacy PCI needs!

Pros: An LGA 1156 board that supports Core i7 processors with three legacy PCI slots next to each other is a great find!
Intel CPU on an Intel MB makes for great stability.

Cons: Not P55 chipset. Still good for my requirements though.

Other Thoughts: I'm running an Avid (Digidesign) Pro Tools HD rig with three PCI cards that need to be seated in *consecutive* slots. Finding a newer motherboard that was compatible with my needs that supports a current Core i7 LGA 1156 processor is a godsend!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat MB

Pros: Everything installed smooth as silk.

Cons: The sata plug locations could cause conflict with some of the longer video cards on the market. I used a SATA cable with a 90* turn at the MB and everything cleared just fine.

Other Thoughts: Good mother board, I am a brand specific kind of guy so if you like matching manufactures I recomend this one hands down.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MoBo

Pros: This thing worked perfect. Built the first computer ever with my 12 yo son. It went together easily and could not have worked better. The board did put out video only when the video card was unplugged. Really easy. Did not have to mess with any BIOS settings or jumpers. Plugged everything in, turned it on, installed Windows 7 and then ran the driver CD and installed all. Absolutely great computer and is smoking with 8G of RAM.

Cons: Do not plug in your internet cable until you install the drivers. We did and the windows update rebooted the computer half way thru loading the drivers because as soon as the LAN driver installed it saw the internet. We started over and installed Windows and then the drivers. Then we plugged in the internet and started updates.

5 out of 5 eggsgood MoBo

Pros: It had everything that was promised and it all worked first time, easy bios.

Cons: Just one picky thing; I wish Intel's I/O panels weren't so cheesy, looks chinsy when the back of the computer is exposed.
