1 out of 5 eggsIntel Boards Suck

Pros: None, Built an i3 System using this 1156 board and matching chip, it smoked within a week after its 72 hour burn in, using factory Heat Sink & Fan. I would not recommend this or any Intel boxed board for any reason. MSI only!!!

Cons: These are very unreliable and unstable boards

Other Thoughts: Spend the extra few bucks for MSI or ASUS boards

1 out of 5 eggsIntel desktop i3 board

Pros: Great board when it boots

Cons: 90% boot failure , fan spins up for 1 sec then dies, got it to boot and stay on once. since no go . Replaced power supply, stripped down to bare minimums. Stock Video, 1 Drive (new) Stock Memory. still no go

Other Thoughts: This board is dud

3 out of 5 eggsIntel let me down

Pros: Great board, easy set up and ran great. It was set-up with i5-750, 8 gigs ram and SSD. Fast with Win 7 Home Prem x64.

Cons: Would randomly fail to boot. Replaced power supply, reset cards, RAM and CPU Heatsink. Still same problem. RMA'd to the Egg- no problem.

Other Thoughts: This is the first of many Intel boards that gave me a problem, Probabily a random case.

3 out of 5 eggsBudget build

Pros: Works...lol no but really the board works and allows for some minor overclocking though not alot of options but its expected for the price.

Cons: sata ports are in an awkward spot especially when running a big video card in the pc only one connection for monitoring front fan wish there was one more at least.

Other Thoughts: not a lot of 1156 motherboards anymore

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board for Xeons

Pros: Great micro ATX board, stable, reliable and easy to install and configure. Using this with a Xeon x3430 CPU and it's great. I was having trouble finding a board to support that CPU but this works perfectly with it. The usual reliable Intel build quality. Board was priced perfectly too.

Cons: Not many overclocking features, but I don't need those for this build. Wish it took ECC and non-ECC ram... but that's being picky.

Other Thoughts: I had no issues installing an SSD on this board, I actually used two different SSD's and the both worked without issue. With the AHCI driver installed. 2 months down the road the Vertex2 is working fine.

Pros: The build went fast and flawless. So far no problems at all.
Works like it should. Not bad for an older board that came out the second Q of 2010

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Built an office workstation on 2/26/12 to be used heavily 9/10
hrs per day.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with Ubuntu Linux

Pros: Dependable Intel quality. Runs Ubuntu Linux 10.10. Sound, network and onboard video (using i5 680) were all detected and work fine. Boots from USB stick. BIOS offers fan settings and overclocking options. Board can drive a small speaker if desired. Good documentation.

Cons: None.

2 out of 5 eggsminor issues

Pros: cheap for an intel board.

Cons: could not install win7 64bit to OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G ssd in ahci mode. had to use ide then switch to ahci in bios. had no problems installing win 7 on a non-ssd using ahci. Problem seems to be the board, since the OS installed on the OCZ drives with no problems on 3 other computers.

Other Thoughts: the bios setting to show "option rom text" seems to be reversed. not a big deal. BOXDH57DD board worked with the SDD.

5 out of 5 eggsSchmoo

Pros: Typical Intel quality. No-frills board and great for business systems which I build. This is my current standard for business workstation builds. i3 CPU with integrated video in the processor is great and I feel much better than the motherboard video many boards have.

Cons: Parallel port would be nice because many businesses still have older non-USB printers but the motherboard does have the header and you can get an I/O panel bracket for just a few bucks if needed so it's not really that much of a con.

Other Thoughts: Previous reviewer mentioned that it's time to lose the PS/2 connector. I disagree. For business workstation builds, the PS/2 connector is a must - just try taking away a liked keyboard from a secretary type person that is PS/2 only and doesn't work with an adapter. They'll tell you to take it away leave their 7 year old clunker PC before they'll give up their old IBM click click keyboard.

One thing to note is this motherboard does -not- have video built onto the motherboard. It has the connectors for VGA which confuses some but you have to be using the proper i3/i5 CPU that has video support in the CPU itself.
