3 out of 5 eggsDecent value, but not without issues

Pros: Good value, feature-filled P67 motherboard. All of the basic features of more expensive boards (USB3, Firewire, eSATA, some overclocking). Very stable with no BIOS flash necessary.

Cons: Loses 1 star for having the worst documentation I've ever seen. The board ships with only a full-color picture guide (with very few words) that tells you no details about the board. If you want more information/help (and this is your only computer), you'd better hope the board boots without issue because the actual manual is only on the included CD.

It should be obvious that the documentation is poor when Intel slips in a last-minute yellow sheet of paper addendum that tries to cram as much information as possible (it's double-sided).

Board loses an additional star for false advertising. Intel advertises "Processor fan speed control, front and rear system chassis fan speed control" in their product PDF. But the reality is, even with Intel Desktop Utilities installed, the board only controlled my processor fan (chassis fans remained maxed-out even at idle). You also get no options to change the fan control settings (this feature is reserved for more expensive boards).

Other Thoughts: As other have noted, if you have a long video card you lose the eSATA connector, and if you have a multi-slot cooler on that card, you can lose PCIe 1x slots.

4 out of 5 eggsYou need a video card

Pros: Fast boot, easy install, fits almost everything I wanted to put on it.

Cons: No onboard video output. Unable to use external sata port and PCIe bays with large PCIe x 16 video card.

Other Thoughts: Got it for a gaming rig build. Bought this as a combo with an i7 2600K thinking that I could run the onboard graphics until I was ready for a graphics card upgrade. Unpacked it and didn't see a video output...Its my fault, but seems odd to pair the 2600K and this board in a combo right???.... So I was forced :) to get the video upgrade immediately. Put in a Radeon 6950 with no issue except that now my eSATA port cannot be plugged in (length issue of the vid card) and both PCI express slots are covered up by the girth of the card. Everything is working to what I was going for now...but I will pay a price when retirement comes for the 2600K in a few years. I plan to make a media PC, but I will have to purchase a mobo with onboard video out...I felt I needed to post this info for others that plan on getting this mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Build

Pros: Smooth build start to finish. Flashed (via F7 and USB flash drive) with current BIOS before doing W7 Pro install. Piece of cake. Raid 1 with WD1002FAEX drives. 8GB Kingston memory. I5-2500K. Asus EAH6850. I build machines all the time and use Intel MB exclusively for the reliability and driver / doc support. No surprises - ever. FAST.

Cons: None. This build had no exceptions to no surprises.
