5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: running for 8 months with a great pleasure.
working well from the start.
it smells the high quality.

Cons: I had a problem with one version of the visual bios that kept forgetting parameters so I had to downgrade to an older version.
Intel has released other versions since then.
the visual bios is a great tool but kind of fashion and not really useful by the way

2 out of 5 eggsNot a good pick, the board, now a brick.

Pros: Setup was as expected.

Cons: If the you choose to update to the latest BIOS where it is already several revisions out of date. You could inadvertently "brick" the board. To avoid this (simply) is to not skip any BIOS updates. After ruining my board for this reason and under Intel Support supervision, we were unable to bring the beast back to life. My warranty submission was then rejected for a "bent pin". Total loss.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly great board

Pros: Nice basic board with mSATA support, SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0.

Cons: Update the bios! Update the bios! Update the bios!

If you purchase this board, update the bios first with a USB key. I would have saved myself quite a bit of time if I had done that. I had weird issues booting from USB DVD drive until I updated bios. Unfortunately SATA performance was slightly affected after updating bios.

The mSATA port is only SATA 3Gb/s

Can't run the board without a video card. It would be nice to lower power consumption further.

Other Thoughts: Other than the 3 Cons listed above this board is great.
I built a killer Hyper-V box with this board:
Xeon E3 1330 CPU
32GB Kingston RAM
Crucial M4 mSATA drive
2x Samsung 840 Pro SSDs in a RAID 0
1TB WD GreenPower drive

Smoking fast performance on my lab VMs and only 40W idle power consumption.

5 out of 5 eggsMsata - Missing the point!

Pros: MSATA- This board is stable. I selected it for my standard mb for over a year now. Put the os on a msata and the thing is a Rocket Ship!!!! XP, Win7x63, Win732, ESXI 5. I typically use the Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series 60 or 120 gig for the os and any data on dedicated data drive. esata, 2 video outputs. Intels media series is a very well rounded product line. I have purchased about 60 of these and never had to return a one.

Cons: some bad bios versions

Other Thoughts: I do very few reviews. This review is not intended for the gamer or a person looking for all the speed. It is intended for the person that wants a nice highly configurable board to meet the needs of the office worker to to a person that is doing 3D modeling.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board

Pros: Good layout, recognized my 1600 memory after BIOS update

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Ordered the board in February, but the board was made last July so the BIOS was out of date. Read about the BIOS update horror stories, so I used the recovery method, which worked like a charm.

1 out of 5 eggsand then it died.

Pros: Had the exact bare minimum support for everything I wanted to use. IvyBridge CPU and 1600 timing RAM included.

Cons: After the first boot after installing Windows 7 on a vanilla BIOS setup, I never reached POST again. Sounds like a BIOS issue from all of the non-Intel support sites I read afterward.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: This board was mostly a pleasure to work with -- was worried about the necessary BIOS update after reading comments on the Intel Desktop Boards forum, but it went flawlessly. Functionally the board just flat works well -- the 0098 BIOS works well with Win 8 in energy saving modes. Sensible IO features -- HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI give the modern spread of video (don't need/want VGA). eSata - USB 3 header works with the case's front ports.

Cons: I really had to struggle to remove the 24-pin power plug after the external build -- thought I might end up ripping the socket off the board. May be the PSU plug is the problem -- I applied a very sparing film of silicone grease which seemed to help a little. I also had to push the board unusually hard against the IO shield to get the standoffs lined up during installation.

Other Thoughts: Build:

Intel DH77EB
Core i3-3225
Logisys Theta 31 CPU Cooler
2x4GB Samsung MV-3V4G3D/US R
Intel 330 128GB SSD
WD Blue 1TB HDD
Asus DVD burner
Antec NSK 3340 case & PSU
BIOS Version 0098
Windows 8 Pro

Highly recommend this board!

4 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Solid board with a lot of nice features

Cons: The Egg has virtually none of the Intel approved ram available for sale. I was at a loss until I found Crucial claiming its ram was compatible.
